Ever, Ever After: The TR Formerly Known as Wishing You Were Here- May 2011

Isn't that how it always works? All that effort to lull him to sleep and then the second you stop.... I'm glad he went back to sleep without putting up too much of a fight though. It is too bad that you didn't get your pork chop and key lime pie. They would probably have been out of the pie though anyway since you talk about how great it is in your TR's.:lmao::rotfl2:

Too bad you had to miss sunshine seasons...I always think that place just smells great!
Still sounds like you made a great choice on food though and got both boys asleep :thumbsup2

There will be future trips for Sunshine Seasons. Too bad you didn't make it this time, but I'm sure it was a sacrifice you were willing to make for the much needed sleep of Mr. Carter and Mr. Landon.

If you couldn't have SS, a ham and cheese croissant is really the next best thing. Scrumptious!

Oh, I am all too familiar with the wishing/hoping/praying for sleep routine! Just one wrong move and it's ruined!

Your meal from France sounds delicious. I hope it tasted as good as it sounds.

I have to say, you two earned those snacks after finally getting both boys to take a nap. :rotfl: Hopefully they took a long and restful one, giving you and Jeremy some time to enjoy Epcot and rest for a bit.

OMG!! That picture of Carter on Journey is toooo cute!! I love it!

Finally! Nap time! My favorite time of the day! In fact, that is what time it is right now!! It is hard enough to get one little boy down for a nap (sometimes I will hear him talking to himself and his stuffed animals after 30 or even 45 minutes after I put him down for a nap!!). I cannot imagine how difficult it must be to coordinate two boys so they are napping AT THE SAME TIME!!! Good for you guys! I hope they rest for a little longer so you can enjoy a little more mommy-daddy alone time!

Oh snacks and a nap...sounds like a lovely afternoon. Even if poor little Landon was tricked into sleeping... ;)

I love those times at Disney when the boys are both asleep in the stroller. Landon's very long-suffering, isn't he? :rotfl:

Yay for the boys going to sleep! Even if you had to trick poor, little Landon into it! Evil parents! :lmao: If it makes you feel any better, I trick Reid into naps all the time. He has NEVER napped well & gave up naps completely around 18 months. So, when I'm exhausted & he (okay, I) need a nap, I tell him we're going to have "quiet movie time". He almost always ends up falling asleep! :thumbsup2

Your snacks sound delicious! I wouldn't mind a ham & cheese croissant and an iced cappuccino right about now. Do you think the Patisserie delivers? :rotfl2: Can you imagine the delivery charge for them to come to my house in Louisiana? :scared1:

Landon was fighting that nap so hard, but he really needed it. I think a little baby trickery was called for. :rotfl: I'm pretty lucky overall, because my boys are fairly good nappers, under normal circumstances. I think it would be so hard to have a toddler who won't nap. Quiet movie time sounds nice. I'd like for my boys to be old enough to enjoy putting a Disney movie in and watching it, whether they fall asleep or not.

I'd like a ham & cheese croissant and iced cappuccino right now, too. If you get the Patisserie to come to Louisiana, let me know. Don't worry about the delivery charge, I'm sure you could get a dining plan to help cover the cost.

Sorry you did not get your pork chop at Sunshine Seasons, but glad the boys got their naps (finally). I love that ham amd cheese croissant.

I think naps were much more important than dinner that day. I do enjoy the ham and cheese croissant, so it all worked out just fine. :goodvibes

Why is it that kids always wake up as soon as the motion stops? glad your boys both finally fell to sleep and stayed asleep.

that ham and cheese croissant sounds right up my alley. yum!

Maybe they think if the motion stops then something fun is about to happen and they don't want to miss out. :rotfl: They both were really tired, so I was glad they were getting to sleep finally.

The ham and cheese croissant is so good, especially when they warm it up so the cheese gets melty.

Fountainview always seems to have a very long line when we go there, but it does move quickly.

Carter looks like an excellent ride buddy.

I didn't know there was a mint or rose option on Figment. I have always had skunk:sick:

I'm sure you hear this a lot but the boys have the cutest little cheeks. I don't know how you don't just pinch them each day. :lovestruc

That's good to know for next time. Maybe we'll try waiting in out at Fountainview next time there is a long line.

Carter is a wonderful ride buddy. He always checks to see how everyone else is sitting and makes sure he does it right. And he's so happy to be riding.

I don't think there is a mint or rose option on Figment. When Figment spins the slot machine, there are mints and roses, as well as skunk, but it always comes up skunk. I know Disney is capable of making good smells and I think mint or rose occasionally would be a nice touch.

I love seeing the boys with those cheeks. I can usually resist pinching, but those cheeks are so kissable.

Yay! You won the sleep race. I couldn't help but laugh when his eyes flew open in that stop. I've definitely been there many, many times!

I'm with Jeremy on Le Cellier. You should try it with them! Any chance it's in the plans for your next visit? I bet they'd both love it!

I think we deserved to win that one, we were flying around World Showcase. We should have known better than to stop so fast, but I thought it should have been okay. At least he went back to sleep.

We actually do have an ADR at Le Cellier on our next trip. I'm both excited and nervous about it. I think the boys will like the food, but not if they have to wait too long to get it.

I completely missed that playground by the fairies at Food and Wine.

I'd love to hear your thoughts about Lasik. It really makes me nervous, yet i'm so close to legally blind anyway that it really could be a help.

James had the kiddie filet at Le Cellier. He was in heaven. We cut it up as small as possible and passed him his plate. well, next thing we know he had shoved almost half a steak in his mouth! we decided he was not getting mroe steak for a while, unless we fed it to him bite by bite.

Great report! I give you such credit for traveling with 2 little ones.

Seriously considering the baby jogger stroller for my 2.5 yr old and 7 month old. Do you love it? Does a diaper bag fit underneath?

Racing around WS with a stroller- been there, done that! :thumbsup2 I'm so glad that you got both boys to sleep, that is some hefty Disney magic at work! I'm sure that both boys felt much better after their naps.

Sorry you had to miss out on Sunshine Seasons! I always forget that you have to park your stroller outside the Land Pavilion and then I get all annoyed. I know that it would get even more crowded with lots of strollers, but I really wish we could bring them in. I think they should give a special dispensation for sleeping kiddos.

Hope you enjoyed your snacks! The only good thing about going warp speed around WS, is that you burned all all the calories from your snacks, before you even sat down to eat them! Of course, that only means that you are practically mandated to go back for more! :goodvibes

I am back. School started this week and it has been crazy.
New toddlers crying and being very sad when mommy has to leave:sad1:

I enjoyed all those updates! Glad that Jeremy is back to help you out.
Landon is very smart, you can not trick that little boy easily:)

Hopefully you guys could rest for awhile before the guys woke up again.

Great updates Kate...I missed a couple but I'm caught up again! Too bad about Sunshine .... I really want to eat there this trip....well, let me re-phrase that...I really want to try the strawberry shortcake...I've heard it's delicious!

I could just picture his little eyes flying open...Jasmine never slept in her stroller or the car....:confused3 Thank goodness WS is big enough to get a good ride in to get him back to sleep!:thumbsup2

:goodvibes I LOVE your trip report, i caught myself reading it at work and laughing out loud at the thoughts of Carter and Landon, I have two boys and I know these thoughts are so true, I cannot wait to read more :surfweb:

I'm sorry you had to miss Sunshine Seasons, but at least you got to take a nice tour of WS, even if you had to go through kind of quickly! :rotfl: Glad both boys fell asleep for you finally, and you got to eat something and take a rest! :cool1:

You should definitely try Le Cellier on your next trip with the boys, I think they would enjoy it, how could they not, everything is so good there! :thumbsup2

It does seem to be exactly how it works. Babies so seldom appreciate things like being able to nap in a stroller with a sunshade. I'm glad he went back to sleep, too. Landon really needed that nap. You're right, they probably would have been out of key lime pie. I really should start talking up the strawberry shortcake instead.

Too bad you had to miss sunshine seasons...I always think that place just smells great!
Still sounds like you made a great choice on food though and got both boys asleep :thumbsup2

I love Sunshine Seasons. It smells great and it tastes great. I love how much variety there is and there's so many foods that my boys like.
I was really happy that the boys were finally sleeping and would give up Sunshine Seasons in favor of naps any time.

I actually don't think we're planning on Sunshine Seasons on our next trip. Too many Food and Wine samples I want to try. But I'm sure we will make it back there someday. Anything for Carter and Landon.

I love those ham and cheese croissants! It was an excellent second choice.

Oh, I am all too familiar with the wishing/hoping/praying for sleep routine! Just one wrong move and it's ruined!

Your meal from France sounds delicious. I hope it tasted as good as it sounds.

It's tough when you know a kid needs to nap and you have to try and make it happen. We were lucky to recover from our wrong move in France and have Landon go back to sleep.

I love the Patisserie. I've only had one bad thing there, so far.

I have to say, you two earned those snacks after finally getting both boys to take a nap. :rotfl: Hopefully they took a long and restful one, giving you and Jeremy some time to enjoy Epcot and rest for a bit.

We were definitely looking forward to some time to sit and eat while the boys slept. They were exhausted and sleeping pretty soundly, so things were looking good for us.

Thanks! I love that picture of Carter, too.

Nap time is my favorite part of the day, too. That and bed time. :rotfl: Carter does that, too sometimes, he'll stay up talking to himself and his animals. Carter and Landon are sharing a room right now and the worst is when they both jump in their beds and laugh. It takes forever for them to fall asleep after that. It works out most days, though. I love having alone time at Epcot.

That's too bad, I bet your kids would have liked that playground. We came at it the back way. I think it's not very obvious from the fairies meet and greet.

My eyesight was so bad that I couldn't even see the big E on the screen without my glasses. The actual Lasik surgery is very very strange and I did find it scary, although it didn't exactly hurt, just felt uncomfortable. After the surgery, the ride home and the next six hours were completely miserable. My eyes were burning and watering and it hurt too badly to sleep through, as they suggested. But when I got up the next morning and peeled the goggles off my eyes, I could see more clearly than I have ever seen in my life. My vision is now 20-15 and it's so amazing. My eyes already feel more comfortable that they ever did in contacts. Lasik is miraculous and I couldn't be more happy with it. I can't wait to try out my new eyes at Disney.

I think we will get the boys a kiddie steak at Le Cellier. I could so see Landon shoving all the steak in his mouth, too. :rotfl: Of course, once he realized he couldn't swallow it all, he'd spit every piece out and pick them up and try again.

Great report! I give you such credit for traveling with 2 little ones.

Seriously considering the baby jogger stroller for my 2.5 yr old and 7 month old. Do you love it? Does a diaper bag fit underneath?

Thanks! I consider myself very lucky to be able to take my little guys to Disney. :goodvibes

I do love my baby jogger stroller. It drives so well and it's easy to fold up and it's really comfortable with the seats that recline and the sunshades that come all the way down. I think a diaper bag would fit underneath, but it wouldn't be easy to get it in and out. I bought two hooks and attached the handlebars to hold our bags and that works pretty well for us. I use the underneath storage for things used less often. I think it's a great stroller.

come on baby I am here:rotfl:

Welcome! :)

Racing around WS with a stroller- been there, done that! :thumbsup2 I'm so glad that you got both boys to sleep, that is some hefty Disney magic at work! I'm sure that both boys felt much better after their naps.

I have to say, while I do love WS, racing my stroller around it is not my favorite way to see it. :rotfl: It ended up being worth it, though to have both boys napping at once.

I think The Land should give a special dispensation for sleeping kids, too. I suppose the strollers would make it more congested, but it's hard when someone is napping to not be able to go in. I guess at least it's one of the few places at Disney where strollers aren't welcome.

What? Disney food has calories? News to me. :rotfl: I do my very best to never think of such things while there. Of course, thinking about burning calories from speeding around WS, that's different.

It seems like school starts earlier and earlier every year. I'm sad for all those new toddler crying when their mommies leave them. I think I'd be the one crying if I tried to leave Carter and Landon at school.

Thanks! I was so happy Jeremy made it back to help us. Landon is smart and he's sly. He prefers to be the one doing the tricking. :rotfl:

I was sure hoping for a long nap that time.

Great updates Kate...I missed a couple but I'm caught up again! Too bad about Sunshine .... I really want to eat there this trip....well, let me re-phrase that...I really want to try the strawberry shortcake...I've heard it's delicious!

Thanks! I'm glad you had time to catch up. I'm sure you're busy with your trip coming right up. :woohoo: I've had the strawberry shortcake, too and I agree that it is delicious. For me, though, the key lime pie will always be the best at Sunshine Seasons.

Landon has great eyes, but that was one time when I didn't want to see them.:rotfl: I was so relieved when he went back to sleep. My boys only sleep in the stroller at Disney, but that's fine with me.

:goodvibes I LOVE your trip report, i caught myself reading it at work and laughing out loud at the thoughts of Carter and Landon, I have two boys and I know these thoughts are so true, I cannot wait to read more :surfweb:

Thanks! I'm glad I could brighten your work day. Having two boys is a lot of fun, isn't it? The things they think are always very interesting. :rotfl:

I'm sorry you had to miss Sunshine Seasons, but at least you got to take a nice tour of WS, even if you had to go through kind of quickly! :rotfl: Glad both boys fell asleep for you finally, and you got to eat something and take a rest! :cool1:

You should definitely try Le Cellier on your next trip with the boys, I think they would enjoy it, how could they not, everything is so good there! :thumbsup2

I was glad to get to see most of the Flower and Garden stuff, even if it was a bit rushed. I had two very tired little boys and it was wonderful when they both fell asleep.

I hope the boys like Le Cellier. I'm really excited about it, so I hope it's a peaceful meal. I bet Carter and Landon will love the pretzel bread. Maybe we'll even spring for a chocolate Moose for them.

Okay, I need your help for our quick December get-away! This will be our first time staying at POP. I did go ahead & book us a preferred room but is there any building that would be best to ask for? I would like for us to be close to the food court. Also, our first night there, Ed & I will be extremely tired from driving ALL day to get there but we will need to let Reid get out & burn some energy. Is there a playground there? Thanks for your help!

I believe that there are preferred rooms in the fifties, sixties, and seventies. I think that biggest difference between the three is that the sixties has the Hippy Dippy pool, which might be nice to be close to for Reid, if the weather is warm, but it also might be noisier than the fifties or seventies. I think any preferred room is going to be pretty close to the food court. There is a playground at Pop. If I remember correctly, it's in the seventies, not too far from the food court. There's also just a lot of room in general at Pop for running and playing. I think Reid will have fun with Pop Century.:)

Thanks for your help! I'm thinking I might try to request a room in the 70's. I'm glad to hear there's lots of room to run because he'll need to burn off his energy after being in the car for the whole day!
