Ever, Ever After: The TR Formerly Known as Wishing You Were Here- May 2011

Awww how sweet that Landon gave you a kiss just at the right moment!!

You know Jeremy is right...I have been craving a Chewy Caramel bar lately!! then again we don't go until the end of October, so no worries :rotfl:

I loved our lunch in Mexico. Our next trip is during F&W, too, so we'll probably skip it next time. It would probably be first on my list, if we were going to eat something other than F&W. Do our trips overlap? We going Sept. 30-Oct. 9.

I wish our dates overlapped, we're missing each other by a week. We are there Oct. 16-21. Hopefully, you'll be able to give your opinion on some of the kiosks! We have a lunch ressie at Le Cellier, and I'm truly re-thinking it because of all the food we're going to be presented with!

In this case, I think it was a combination of things that led to it. It wasn't my proudest Disney moment.
Uh oh.

I felt something wet on my cheek. Was Landon biting me? But I didn't feel any teeth...it was a kiss! Landon had never kissed me before.

"Did you just kiss me?"

Landon looked very pleased with himself. Just like Joey after he gives Phoebe the perfect kiss.

I wanted to make sure.

"Landon, give me a kiss."

He leaned in and kissed me again. It was very wet and slobbery and enthusiastic and I loved every second of it.

"Thank you, Landon. That was so nice."
Aww, truly sweet! It was just what you needed at that moment!:lovestruc

Ah yes, the great nap debate. I think you made the right decision, and hopefully the walking around will do the trick.:thumbsup2

Sorry to go off-topic in your TR, but since you're the one who opened my eyes to Vinylmation (and Brownie Paws and Chewy Caramel Bars :rolleyes1) I just couldn't resist saying something. I got a Disney Store e-mail this morning about Vinylmation Sea Creatures. Some of those look really cool (much better than Big Baby:rotfl2:). Gotta say, I think my mission may be to get a shark Vinylmation now.:thumbsup2:lmao:

:love:Too cute! What perfect timing for a first kiss!

Love the friends reference!!

I'm glad you were able to regroup. I hope things quickly get back to being perfect for you!

Bummer about the Caramel Bar not working out...October is not too far away now, though! I hate it when I am in the middle of shopping and Colby has a meltdown and we just have to leave.

I think Landon knew exactly what perfect timing it was, too. He looked very proud.

Landon's facial expressions frequently remind me of Joey, although Landon is much smarter.

October really isn't too far away, now. I'm getting very excited about our trip. It's finally getting close enough that I can start getting things together for it. My boys almost never have meltdowns when we're shopping at home, but it's hard to just stop whatever you're doing and leave.

Gosh, no chewy caramel bars, and two awake and screaming babies! Sounds awful! Luckily Jeremy was there to take charge of the situation!

Its so funny, I think I am the Jeremy and DH is the Kate in our relationship, my DH cannot STAND when Everett cries and gets all freaked out that we are disturbing other people, maybe I'm used to it ( or less considerate of the people around me ;) ) but I just don't worry. I am also more of the parent who wants to push the limit (i.e. keeping kids at Epcot vs. taking them back to the resort), whereas, DH would have totally wanted to go home for real naps!

It looks like everyone is having a great time at the babycenter, and I hope that all that extra playing and exercise lead to more stroller naps and an extra nice evening at Epcot!

It was awful! I hate it when one of the boys wakes up the other. Jeremy knew just what to do, though.

That's funny, you all are the opposites of us. I can't stand hearing the boys cry. The sound of just gets right under my skin and I feel like I have to do something to get them to stop. I'm never too concerned about other people, either. I just hate the noise. It doesn't seem to bother Jeremy the same way. Unless he can see something clearly wrong, then he doesn't worry much about it. I think we both wanted to stay at Epcot, I just wasn't sure that we ought to stay at Epcot. :rotfl:

The Baby Center was a great break for us. The one at Epcot is smaller and older, but the toys make it very appealing for little kids. We sat there a long time, watching them play.

I just noticed your ticker. We will be at the World at the same time. Maybe we will run into each other in the baby care centers. :rotfl:

Aww, i just loved this update. Landon's kiss was too sweet! I love how a little one can snap a cranky mood away!

The perfect kiss from a tiny prince broke the evil spell cast by the lack of carmel chewy bar. Perfect!

Oh a Friends reference?!? I like you even more now!!! :thumbsup2:lmao:

I think everyone has a slight Disney meltdown at one point or another....I am glad the perfect kiss was able to diffuse it. The boys look really happy stretching their legs in the Baby Center....I bet your perfect day is back on track now! :surfweb:

It's always good to ride the coattails of a show as popular as Friends. :rotfl:

I suppose a slight Disney meltdown is common, but it sort of took me by surprise. Usually I think it's not to hard to avoid meltdowns, but I guess it happens to everyone. I think the boys were really happy to get to go play in the Baby Center. It was a good step back to perfection.

I was going to say it must be a dad thing, but I guess that point's been proven wrong already.:lmao::rotfl2: I tend to just check and make sure he's safe and nothing is seriously wrong and let him go... at least when we're not in public.:rotfl:

Kate, I'm sorry about the meltdown, but as far as Disney meltdowns go, it could have been far worse. I'm glad Landon had it in him to step up and save the day. I wonder what his take would have been on the whole meltdown situation? :lmao: It is too bad your perfect afternoon turned out less than perfect, but I guess that's what toddlers are for!

I would have thought that it might be a dad thing, too, but I guess not. That's exactly what Jeremy does, too- make sure the boys are safe and not hurt and then he's remarkably unconcerned. I don't know how you don't let it bother you. :confused3

It probably could have been worse, but we're the sort of people who usually avoid meltdowns altogether, so for us, it was pretty bad. I think Landon absolutely knew what he was doing with that kiss. The look on his face was priceless. Toddlers sure do know how to mess up a perfect afternoon, don't they? :rotfl:

Awwww.....your first baby kiss from Landon! I just melted when my kids gave me their first baby kiss. Now you can always remember when Landon did it.....in Epcot to cheer you up because there was no Chewy Caramel Bars.

I missed the Friends reference.

It was actually my first baby kiss ever. Carter doesn't like kissing and if I ask him to give me a kiss, he leans his cheek up so I can kiss him. Landon's first kiss was really sweet, especially at that particular moment.

Just like Joey after he gives Phoebe the perfect kiss

Remember the one where Phoebe's turning thirty and has a big list of things to do by the time she's thirty and then it turns out that she's really thirty-one and is a whole year behind of things to do before she's thirty-one? Having the perfect kiss was on her list and Joey kisses her so she can cross that off the list.

Awww.. He'd never kissed you before? What sweet timing for that to happen! :goodvibes

Jeremy really might have something about you promoting those bars in your TR though. I know I looked for 'em! Hope you're able to find one on your next trip! :thumbsup2

And that last pic.. Soooo sweet!!

No, he never had. I think Landon thought I was upset and wanted to make it better. :)

Hmm. Maybe next time I'll recommend the caramel pecan bars instead. :rotfl: I'm still not sure about getting one next trip. I would like to, but there's going to be so much other special F&W things to try, too.

What a perfect time for that first kiss!!!

Complete bummer about the chewy caramel bar! And about the meltdowns! We even had some on our last trip with our 6 yr old. It happens just have to make the most of it and it sounds like you and Jeremy did!

Landon does have good timing, sometimes.

I thought it too bad about the chewy caramel bar. The meltdowns were even worse, I think. I hope that can be our last set for awhile. I always hope to make the most of every Disney minute.

I'm glad to hear things got turned around for you! And especially since Landon started the turn-around with a kiss! That was really & truly so sweet. I know that had to just absolutely melt your heart when he did that.

It turned completely around, with a kiss from Landon. He was being so sweet. I couldn't stay in bad mood after that. It was a very magical moment for me. :wizard:

Awww how sweet that Landon gave you a kiss just at the right moment!!

You know Jeremy is right...I have been craving a Chewy Caramel bar lately!! then again we don't go until the end of October, so no worries :rotfl:

Landon knew just what to do, didn't he? It was a strong step toward restoring perfection.

Oh, no! Maybe Jeremy was right about the Chewy Caramel bars. I wonder if I could ask everyone going at the same time as us not to take the last Chewy Caramel bar.

Oh dear, I've missed a few updates! All caught up now though!:thumbsup2 I would have been upset too if there was no chewy caramal bars...It's the one thing (besides a Grey Goose Slushie) that I want to have in WS:lmao: I'll have to keep my fingers crossed they have them when we're there.

I have to say I'm much less "stressed" reading your TR now that Jeremy is with you! I always worried about how you would manage with the tray and the stroller at meal times:confused: You did awesome though:hug:

Caught up! I know by the time Jeremy got there, you really needed him! I can't imagine Disney like you did it, but time at Disney would still be more fun than at home!

All caught up - sorry I've been away for awhile!

How very sweet of Landon. :thumbsup2 And talk about timing! I am glad to see the meltdown was (for the most part) avoided. And I can completely understand your reluctance to leave Epcot, especially so early in the day.

Ah yes, the great nap debate. I think you made the right decision, and hopefully the walking around will do the trick.:thumbsup2

Too bad our trips aren't the same dates. I'm hoping early October will still be pretty warm. I'm really excited to try a lot of the F&W kiosks when we go. My goal is to try one item from each kiosk, but I'm not sure that's feasible, especially since we have a Le Cellier ressie, too.

I find it tricky sometimes to try to predict what is going to end up working the best for my boys. If I had known for a fact that they would be better off going back, I think I could have done it, but to skip out on all that Epcot time without even being sure that it was best for them would have been really hard.

Sorry to go off-topic in your TR, but since you're the one who opened my eyes to Vinylmation (and Brownie Paws and Chewy Caramel Bars :rolleyes1) I just couldn't resist saying something. Gotta say, I think my mission may be to get a shark Vinylmation now.:thumbsup2:lmao:

Vinylmation talk is always welcome in my TR. I got that email, too, and I thought a lot of the Sea Creatures looked pretty cool. I want to find a dolphin sometime, but with my luck, I'll probably get Brain Coral instead. Big Baby just might by the worst Vinylmation yet. Of course, I have pretty good Toy Story collection going now, and I figure it's inevitable that someday I'll have all the Toy Story series except for Big Baby. :rotfl:

I just noticed your ticker. We will be at the World at the same time. Maybe we will run into each other in the baby care centers. :rotfl:

I hadn't noticed our dates our the same, yet. We may run into each other, literally. We're running the 5K race, too.

Aww, i just loved this update. Landon's kiss was too sweet! I love how a little one can snap a cranky mood away!

It's only fair that a little one can cure a bad mood that fast, since little ones can also bring on a bad mood, just as fast. It was really sweet, though.

The perfect kiss from a tiny prince broke the evil spell cast by the lack of carmel chewy bar. Perfect!

And they all lived happily ever after. :goodvibes

I think I'll be okay if there's no chewy caramel bars the next time we're there, now that I know that it is possible that they will be out of the them. I suppose I sort of thought that Disney could keep a steady supply of chewy caramel bars, magically. I hope they have one for you- it's less than two weeks now, right?

I was much less stressed as well, once Jeremy arrived. Once he was there, then all the hard parts were over. It's so nice to take the boys and get a table and wait for Jeremy to bring the tray of food. Thanks! I thought I did pretty good, for a first time solo with two toddlers trip. :goodvibes

Caught up! I know by the time Jeremy got there, you really needed him! I can't imagine Disney like you did it, but time at Disney would still be more fun than at home!

I sure did need Jeremy by the time he got there! I didn't want to deal with Landon with a cold on my own. It really wasn't too bad being on my own at Disney, especially if the alternative was to stay home.

All caught up - sorry I've been away for awhile!

That's okay! I'm glad you're back. :)

How very sweet of Landon. :thumbsup2 And talk about timing! I am glad to see the meltdown was (for the most part) avoided. And I can completely understand your reluctance to leave Epcot, especially so early in the day.

Landon can be very sweet, when he decides he wants to be. I suppose the meltdown could have been much worse, but for us, that's about as bad as it gets. I think if we had gotten to spend the whole morning at Epcot, it might not have been so bad, but getting there around noon and leaving two hours later just didn't seem right.

We walked until we came to the Fairies playground. The sign said for ages 2-5, but I figured Landon was close enough.

DSCI0271.JPG

I liked seeing the Fairy topiaries, although they got the character of Tinkerbell completely wrong. Perhaps if they switched the personalities of Tink and Vidia, I could almost like Disney Fairies. Almost.

DSCI0272.JPG

At any rate, it was a beautiful garden and the boys couldn't wait to go and play.

DSCI0273.JPG

Unfortunately, the ground was covered in mulch, which hurt Landon's hands and knees to crawl in. He convinced me to hold his hands and walk him wherever he wanted to go. I convinced him to walk through a tunnel, because it was shady and not so hot.

DSCI0274.JPG

Eventually, Carter and Landon ended up in the little playhouse, designed by an actual little girl as a house a fairy might live in. Carter welcomed a chance to climb on the bed.

DSCI0276.JPG

A mean little girl about five or six came over and started getting in Carter's face and telling him to get out and that was her house.

I reminded myself that she was just a kid and it would be inappropriate to yell at her, pull her hair, kick her, or spit on her. You don't mess with my kids, little girl.

"He's fine where he is. It's not your house, everyone can play here. Leave him alone."

I tried to keep my words mild enough to not get in a fight with her mother, while speaking strongly enough to make her back off immediately.

She glared at me, but went off to another part of the playground and started throwing mulch at a group of other little kids. I figured as long as she was far away from my boys, she was some other mom's problem.

As soon as she left, Carter got off of the bed anyway, but Landon wasted no time in climbing up.

DSCI0277.JPG

Carter had discovered some tunnels and was having fun climbing through them.

DSCI0278.JPG

Of course, Landon had to explore some tunnels, too. He's careful to always keep up with Carter.

DSCI0279.JPG

It was getting crazy hot at that playground and I noticed the boys were starting to look a bit overheated.

DSCI0280.JPG

We all said bye to the playground and made our way to the closest place with air conditioning.

:rotfl2: Blame it on the TR! I love it!

I have to remember this Chewy Caramel Bar for next week. ::yes::

I'm glad to hear things started to improve-hopefully the boys cooperated for the rest of the night!

Kate, sorry I missed an update (we've been changing our resorts for our upcoming trip and I got behind).

I LOVE the first kiss from Landon. That had to make everything in the world feel just perfect, caramel chewy or not.

Glad hte kids got to play in the fairie area for awhile; that wasn't a very nice little girl. :headache:

What day do you actually arrive in Disney next? I'm wondering if our dates cross at all or if you arrive after we leave?

I didn't even see the fairy play area when we were there. I saw the fairy topiaries but some how missed the playground. :confused3

Looks like the boys really enjoyed themselves! I can not get over that mean little girl. But you did a good job of reasonably putting her in her place. I feel for her mother - I think she's going to have problems with that one! :sad2:

That play area looks really cute and fun!

Ugh to that little girl (and her MOM!)...I would of had to resist the urge to push her down! ;) Sounds like you handled it like a pro! :goodvibes
