Ever been to Waffle House?`

There are good Waffle Houses and bad ones just like any type of chain restaurant - Thank goodness the one near us is good - I love the Pecan Waffle!! Yummy!!!

Waffle House is the BOMB!
I love waffle house. I think it has the best cheese and eggs anywhere! The waffles are so good because the mix is made with cream, yep, cream, so don't be thinking you are going to get a low carb waffle there! I learned to flip eggs at waffle house. Yes, I was a waffle house cook. Had the night shift at the Alachua Waffle House a long time ago when in college. So I admit, I'm biased. You can get a bad meal at a Waffle House, however having had more than I can count of good ones and less than a hand's fingers worth of bad ones, I'd say take your chances, the odds are good you will have a great short order meal at any Waffle House. Two things I just have to get when I get back to the south - sweet tea and waffle house food! Love those cheese and eggs with raisin toast and a nice crispy waffle all soft inside covered with goey syrup and melted butter. Oh, if only there was a waffle house on pleasure island, life at disney would truely be complete!

I try not to go to restaurants where the entire restaurant is the smoking section...(actually, I try not to go to restaurants that allow smoking at all)that said, I might try it again some day if I could ever find a smoke-free one.

We started to once on vacation but through the window we could see the waitress chewing her fingernails and spitting them on the counter. We turned around. We haven't been able to go to one since. That was about 5 years ago and our family still jokes about it.

I just watched the Food Network Top 10 rest. and #5 was Waffle House and I, for the first time, I really want to go.

Beautiful looking waffles and my husband would love the T-bone steak for under $10.

There's a Waffle House in my town that opened up here 3 years ago and we've never been -- because of the appeal of it. Not my type.

But seeing the Food Network display -- wow, I may go there tonight for dinner with the family.

Nope, never been, SO might like it.

Try the one near Disney on 535. No smoking allowed in restaurants in Florida. My girls love to go over there when we stay at Disney. Almost every trip we take we will stop at Waffle House and have only had one bad experience. Food was service good but some kid played Achy, Breaky Heart for a solid hour! We now hate that song.
No Waffle House in Miami-Dade so we have to go to Broward for it.

I'm surprised you could actually see through the windows...they're usually too grimey to actually make out the people sitting inside!! Yuck!!!

Got salmonella from bad eggs in one in 1989 and haven't eaten at one since.

OK - so what is smothered, covered and scattered......cheese? gravy?

Scattered means they are cooked scattered on the grill, not in that little ring.Covered means with cheese, smoothered with onions.Chunked means with tomatoes.

I prefer IHOP but my son prefers Waffle House. The food is good, I just don't like that there is no No Smoking section. My clothes just reek of cigarette smoke after I've been to one.

hi
always go to the waffle house breakfast at the one by the big orange on 192 and coffee and apple pie for afternoon on the way back from anywhere at lakeland next to the harley rental. orlando would not be the same without a visit :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

Why hasn't anyone mentioned the waitresses with "summer" teeth...you know

"summer" here and "summer" there!

Not eating there...no way...no how...and they are an institution here in the Atlanta area...

LOL! Eaten at Waffle House? Of course!

Waffle House just turned 50 and they still have their executives regularly work shifts at the restaurants to stay connected with its roots.

I'm one to also prefer IHOP. Waffle House is ok, glad I went once, happy they were open, but happy to also not go back.

Well, we went to a waffle house once in St. Pete. I wanted pancakes(was prego at the time!)...not on the menu! Asked the waitress and she responded"If you want pancakes you have to go to the Pancake House"! :rotfl2: So off we went to the Pancake House....it was right next door! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: We were crying we were laughing so hard!
