We were thinking of spending a night on Anna Maria Island and were just wondering what to expect. Nice? Clean? Anyone?

We stayed on Anna Maria Island a couple of years ago and we loved it! It was so beautiful and very "old style" Florida a real beachy island. :sunny: Here's the place we stayed at ....http://www.beachdirectory.com/queensgate/ and we loved the room and the whole area! You also are a short distance to Longboat Key,Siesta Key etc and of course Sarasota so you are in close proximity to lots of restaurants and shopping. :thumbsup2

We're heading to Siesta Key this coming Nov to stay with my family in a timeshare but I would go back to Anna Maria Island in a minute! :)

Thanks, Sammi! We are looking at Siam Garden Resort and do plan to spend part of the day in Sarasota. This, of course, a prelude to our Disney trip. Thanks again! :goodvibes

We stopped off at Anna Marie Island last Sept. We got there about an hour or so before sunset and went to a very secluded beach. It was very pretty. There were no shells to speak of. We were going to stay on AM but since we didn't book ahead, there were no vacancies. We continued south down to Sarasota and stayed there for 2 nights. We continued on next to to Sanibel Island-which we really enjoyed! Tons of shells and the water was lovely to swim/float in.
