Ever been stuck in an elevator?

yep DD and I in a Hyatt Place. It had the mirrored doors so it was kinda weird staring at ourselves being stuck. Like a living selfie. Off course we had to be Bozo's and make weird faces etc.I'm sure security was rolling their eyes at us Hope that's the only time I have to use the phone in one of those things. Add that one to the real life experiences column

Yes at night time in Taronga Zoo, Sydney, Australia. We were going a night time sleep over at the zoo and were on a tour. One of the men in our group was the father of one of the tour guides who was from Germany. We had just got in the elivator and he commented that they must be good elivators as they were made in Germany. No sooner had he said that the lift dropped a little (we were on the ground floor so it didn't drop far) and we couldn't get the elivator to work or the door to open. We were stuck for about an hour and it was really hot in there. Luckily no one panicked and we all thought it would be a great tale to tell in the future. We even took pictures in there as a memory!!

My aunt's 3 (and 1 room 4th) floor house has an elevator in it. When I was about 9 or so, we went to her house for Thanksgiving. My little sis and I thought it'd be great fun to fool around in the elevator and make it go up and down. So we go in the elevator and notice the light inside isn't working. (Bad sign, right?) But stupid us decided "hey, just 'cause the light's busted doesn't mean the actual elevator is" and we went in anyway. We click the 4th floor button. Up we go! At the 4th floor, the doors open. We stay in and click the 1st floor button to go back down. The doors shut and we start going down. THUMP. We stopped, there in the dark elevator. It was stuck, the doors opened and THERE WAS A CONCRETE WALL IN FRONT OF US???!! (I think it stopped in between floors or something, IDK) The doors shut, and then the elevator proceeded to just sit there. Now my sis proceeded to fuss 'WE'RE STUCK IN THE DARK!! I HATE BEING IN THE DARK!! GET US OUTTA HERE!!' etcetc. My solution?? Telling her to take a nap!! (I wanted her to shush 'cause we WERE allowed in the elevator, but we weren't really supposed to fool around with it...)
Finally after randomly pushing all the buttons in the dark (you couldn't see ANYTHING in there), the elevator went down to the first floor and we got out. We did not tell anyone what happened.
I guess we were stuck in there maybe 10-15 minutes?? I don't remember.
