We're planning for mid-Oct. Of course, I'm thinking about what to pack. Will it still be super hot or will it be sweater weather? Still rainy? Is it hurricane season?

Also, will we be bummed by the earlier closings? I know I'm asking alot, but I'm a planner. Jeans or shorts? Is the MAGIC still there? I'm concerned.

We were there Oct 22-29th of last year and it did not rain while we were there. We wore shorts and short sleeves the whole time. We went to the halloween party one night and we all wore shorts and t-shirts and took light jackets in case we got cold, but we never needed them, even at midnight! I did not mind the earlier closings, since my kids are little, it worked out fine for them to go back and go to bed. I did think that the Fanstamic was more crowded since there was only 1 show per night (last time we went there were 2/night) so I would get there early to get a seat. It was more crowded than I had expected it to be in October, but we had fun and I thought the weather was great. No lack of magic in October, so don't worry!!

we went around Oct 7 - Oct 11, 2003, and is was *summer* still in florida (actually, that's how my friend who lives in florida described it to me when i asked about what clothes to bring). it was in the low 80's i think. definitely t-shirt and shorts weather. we did Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, and i don't recall us being chilly at night, without jackets. it was just beautiful weather (not much rain either). BUT i believe it is still hurricane season then, so keep that in mind (i hadn't even thought about it then, glad i didn't. i would have worried for no reason). hth! Liz :)

Ditto the other replies. We went in October 2003 and had warm, sunny weather. It was in the 80's and sunny everyday we were there. We wore shorts and tank tops or t-shirts the whole time. October is a great time to go. The crowds are light and the weather is good. I plan to go again this October. I just hope there aren't any hurricanes!

We were there in mid-October 2003. The weather was fantastic!! No rain the whole time!! We came prepared with ponchos but never had to take them out. We had mid 80s and moderate humidity. We wore shorts and short sleeves or tank tops the whole time. We went to the MNNSHP one night and I wore capri pants and was comfortable. The only time I was cold was one night at DTD. had to buy a sweatshirt because the winds kicked up out of nowhere. It wasn't cold when we left the hotel so I didn't bring and outer wear for myself or the kids. That mistake cost us about $150. It didn't bother us at all that the parks closed early. The crowds were thin enough that we got a lot done in a short time. At night we would go to the pool or DTD for dinner or firewoks at one of the parks that were open later.

I would absolutely go back in October! One of my all time favorite Disney things is the MNNSHP. Don't miss it!! :earboy2:

My family went to Disney in October 2000 (18th-28th) It rained for about 5 minutes the whole time we were there and was hot and sunny every day :sunny: It was around 80 - 85 everyday! We loved the weather so much and the lack of crowds at the parks that we are planning going back again this October!! Hope this helps!!

We've had great luck with October weather as well. It is the tail end of hurricane season, but I think they are pretty rare by October. We've had a few days where its been too hot (near 100) and a few days where its been chilly (60s) over the years, but usually is in the 80s and great!
