Events that conspired to make me look like a witch at the drive-thru..

:sad2: I've noticed that if you ask for anything differently, it completely messes up the employees at fast food places around here....at Wendy's I asked for a hamburger with no mayo and no cheese. Got it with cheese, so I brought it back in. The woman hands me a hamburger with mayo. I said "no cheese and no mayo, please", and she says "Oh, this job is so HARD!!" :upsidedow
I'd have probably gone inside and complained as well.

Wow- she was a winner wasn't she?!:rotfl: Holy crap how does she even get outta bed in the morning? :lmao:

This happened to me last week at our lovely Dunkin Donuts!! I ordered a dozen glazed only and a dozen assortment. I could not understand anything the order taker said in the machine, so I said, "I will pull up to the window since I can't understand you". I pulled up to the window and she said, "Why the hell did you pull up, I TOLD you we were all out of glazed and you didn't answer me, now I have to delete your order and you will have to drive back around to redo it." My DD was in the car with me and said, "why did she say a bad word mommy". I put the car in park and told her to get me the manager asap. She said, "she's in the back, busy." I was so jacked off. I turned the car off, grabbed my 5 year old and walked into the store, all the while leaving the car parked in the drive thru lane! (sorry for those behind me!). I walked in and she saw me coming and RAN to the back. I stood there and said to the cashier at the counter, "Please get me the manager right now." She went back and got her and came right out. I explained what happened and what she had said to me and cursed in front of my DD. She apologized profusely and guaranteed me it would never happen again. She also gave me 2 dozen donuts free and a few coupons for free donuts in the future. I told her that I would also be sending a letter to the corporate office.

Point of the story, do not take any crap from someone who is working in a public industry. Customer service should be #1 to them and if it isn't, they should be in a different business.

I would have done the exact same thing exept I might have looked alot scarier seeing as wouldv'e had to unload and bring in 4 kids to go in a complain. If I am ticked off enough to stir up up a sweat unloading 4 kids from carseats, the person that acted like a poop better duck n' cover!:lmao:

It's a matter of convenience for EVERYONE! Waiting 10 minutes behind someone who orders 8 meals one without ketchup, one with out onions, one with no pickles and one with extra pickles... is NOT convenient. I'm just saying, fast food restaurants are fast paced places for the most part and if you order a burger with no mayo or donuts with chocolate sprinkles, don't be surprised if you pull away and something isn't right. There isn't an unlimited amount of everything, if you're particular about donut types go in and see the selections then pick from those available. If you have special requests, it's best to go into the restaurant. Heck, if I worked at a donut place, the person standing in front of me would get those last 2 chocolate donuts before someone at the drive thru.

That is just soooo ridiculous! I didn't realize that when Burger King advertises "Have it your way" they actually meant only if it doesn't inconvienence anyone behind you at the drive thru! Sorry, but that's just bull. I pay the same money for my meals as you, and if I can't get out of the car and decide to go thru drive thru with my special order, then I have the right just like you do to do that! I didn't realize that I would be discriminated against because I don't like cheese and am alergic to eggs so I can't have mayo on my whopper jr. Sorry I have the right to the convenience just like you do and if you don't like it, YOU can park, take your kids out into the cold and go inside and order.

I gotta know, did the OP call?????

Hi! I went back to speak to the manager this afternoon. I explained what happened and he looked like this - :scared1:, same expression I had, LOL. He gave me gift certificates for free food and coffee ($50 worth) and he apologized forever.

I don't know the outcome of what will happen with her, I did not ask him.

I was left with a good feeling after talking to him. Though, I don't know how I'll feel if I see her there again. I'd probably just run screaming, LOL.

By the way, if the long complicated orders should be done inside, and the people that go inside are the preferred special #1 customers, then wouldn't it be mean to inconvenience them to get stuck behind someone who came in to give a long complicated order? I think my head is going to explode.

Definately complain! That girl should be fired! You never, never, never, cuss at a customer! Sounds like she needs to learn a life lesson.

No, you just never let them hear! Always wait until they're out of ear shot before cussing them out. Actually at my job I have a code word. If someone is being a ***** I call them "maam."

The drive thrus should just install the screens so you can see exactly what you've ordered.

I didn't realize that there were "rules" about who was allowed to use the drive-though. To my mind, if the ENTIRE menu is posted at the drive-thru, then the ENTIRE menu is available. It's not just for small/simple orders, it's also a convenience so that people don't have to get out in the cold, so that people with young kids don't have to get the kids out of the car seat, bring them inside, and then buckle them back into the car, etc... And I don't think the order was that complex - how tough is "4 chocolate donuts, the rest an assortment?"

Yes, there are rules - the drive through window is for people with small children, or those who have physical difficulties getting in and out of the car :thumbsup2 . If you are alone, and able-bodied, walk the few feet into the building - enjoy the freedom  . I remember sitting in long drive through lines, with a bunch of little kids in my van, looking inside the window, and noticing the drive through line was much longer than the line inside. Why sit in the drive through line if you can just as easily go inside :confused3

If I don't have my kids with me, I leave the drive through line for the moms! :cool1:

Well, I had got to have a drive through experience today. I have made it clear that I do NOT agree with most of the so called unspoken rules of the drive through that a few have put forth here but I think this one should not only be unspoken it should be written in big letters on the menu board and on the window!

It is beautiful here (sorry to those that live in cold and snowy states!) so I had my windows down. This is important because it meant I could clearly hear the person in front of me ordering and her interaction at the window. It was about 12:30ish--the height of the lunch rush and the line at McD's was all the way around the building and heading toward the street fast.

The woman in front of me pulls up to the speaker and orders 3 Happy Meals with various special requests for the burgers and different side options. No problem. Then she asks to purchase an additional toy, no meal. Still no problem to me. We pull up, I order my Double Cheeseburger, no onion extra pickles, and a Coke-- no ice. (remember I am mobility impared, so I am ALLOWED  ) Pull up again and pay and pull forward as Happy Meal woman is getting her order passed to her.

Waiting.
Waiting.
Waiting.

"We already have these toys. Could you see if you have others?"

The worker goes off and comes back in a minute or so with a few other toys to the window.

"No. We have that one too. I'll take that one. But he really wants the murgle furgle (didn't quite hear exactly which one) one. Could you look and see if you have it?"

 Okay. You have to be freaking kidding me! It is lunchtime, the line is backed up almost into traffic and you want to play musical crappy toys over which 4 specific toys you want??? Sorry. This is one that even I will say that you need to go inside and take care of. Even I would haul my butt, wheelchair and all, inside for something like that. (actually I wouldn't, my kids would just live with it, but I am mean like that  )

Have it your way refers to your food and drink order. You want a specific toy? Go to Toys R Us!:headache:
