Last week, we scheduled a pre-deployment trip for the first week of February (4-12). Availability at the resorts was really limited. The Beach Club and Wilderness Lodge are completely full. Is there an event that week, even though it's value-season rates?

dance and twirl competitions are popular that time of year, so I would check the Wide World of Sports event calendar for that; but those groups typically stay at the All-Stars so I'm not sure how that would impact availability at BC and WL.

You're right on the money! There's a cheer competition on the 11th and 12th, which makes me cringe. Not due to the cheerleaders running around, but b/c my husband will tease me mercilessly for being one once upon a time.

I think Pop Warner Football is that week too? Maybe Feb 3-10th or something like that. We've never been during Pop Warner, but we will be there for the tail end of it so I looked up how bad it was. Doesn't seem like a deal breaker to us! Also, check Animal Kingdom Lodge they had lots of rooms available. I think also there's a 25% off room only on deluxe rooms during that time, so that may or may not be affecting availability.

We ended up booking a split stay, three days at Beach Club and five days at Animal Kingdom Lodge with the 40 percent military discount. Our original plan was to stay the entire duration at BC, but no dice.

Pop Warner is in December.

You obviously like WL since you've been there a number of times. If so, then you'll love AKL too. I absolutely loved staying there and the bus service from there was great. Although I personally don't like the BC, it does have great access to EPCOT and HS. Glad you booked BC first, then AKL. Hope you have a fantabulous time!

We're really looking forward to it. We haven't stayed at either before, so they will be something new. We were fortunate to book a savannah view. I can't wait to enjoy my morning coffee on the balcony.
