Evening Entertainment Worth the Time?

Is the evening entertainment (and the FP lines, waiting and crowd-ness that goes with it) worth the time?

We will only have two days in the parks. I believe that the park hours will be reduced, possibly 10am - 8pm, President's Day and the following day.

We are not avid evening entertainment/parade viewers when in WDW. We have seen all the shows there and really feel no need to repeat them. In fact, we plan to avoid them except in special circumstances such as MSEP this past summer.

Having never experienced DLR evening offerings/parades I am torn. Do I plan to take advantage of these events and have less ride time or plan to avoid these events and have more ride/eat/shop time.

What do you all think, take advantage or avoid?

Thanks :flower3:

I'll want to see World of Color, but I'm not if fireworks will be launched during those reduced hours days.

It depends on what you like.

I have spent a day in the Park, gone on not one single ride, enjoyed shows and entertainment, and had some of the best days ever.

- Aladdin
- Fantasmic!
- World of Color
- Fireworks
- ASIMO
- Billy Hill and the Hillbillies
- The Laughing Stock
- Animation Academy
- Turtle Talk with Crush
- MSEP
- Celebrate! (if you like dancing)

Love them all! In the evening, love them even more. The nights are my favorite time at DLR.

- Dreams

Presidents Day will have longer hours until 11pm/12am: WOC, fireworks and possibly Fantasmic!

The day after will be 10-8: just WOC (most likely)

I'd definitely see Fantasmic! it is so much better than the WDW version (which bored me to tears on YouTube). Crowds usually clear out quite a bit after fireworks at 9:30. It's a good time to get shorter lines on rides.

The thing about Disneyland is that since your at the parks , its best to experience the night time entertainment, it might be slightly different then what you would see at WDW, I don’t really know never been, but I am sure it’s not *exactly* the same. And um world of color is something you don’t want to miss and do the meal ticket reserve thing, that is the best way to get a good view! Please see hdyroguys tips in that!

The evening entertainment out DLR is outstanding and totally worth it IMO. If you have two days I would say you spend at least one evening see WOC, Fantasmic or (if it is RDCT) fireworks.

Based on the responses so far, it seems that I had better include some evening enterrainment in our plans.

Which of the three eveing events will take up the least amount of my day time park touring time?

From what I have read on here, I need to line up and wait for WoC and F! well before the actual event if I want my son to be able to see, especially at WoC. WoC will also involve a fast pass scramble first thing in the morning unless I am willing to devote the money and time to eat a sit down meal. I understand that the picnic meal is an option but it provides me with a less exclusive, read that as longer waiting in line time, than the preferred dining option. I have read about the F! dessert/reserve seating but think that it is expensive and will still involve lining up and early pre-show arrival. As far as the fireworks, I just sort of figured that if we try to see F! that we would watch the fireworks too.

Anyone on here just walk up to the show areas about 5 minutes before to see what they can see?

Five minutes before is not going to fly. You can get a decent spot for fireworks usually 30 minutes in advance. If you see the late Fantasmic show at 10:30 (if there are two shows that night) you can usually get a decent spot 40 minutes in advance. WOC is new and requires a longer wait and many of the viewing spots are not very good. If you want to have the least wait then see fireworks or late Fantasmic. :)

what hydro guys sayz is true.. u cannot get a spot in 3 min. before any show! if it was me, i would do fireworks first, then go to fantasmic, why? well fireworks is one showing, fantasmic has two, you can do fireworks its time, and then do the 10pm showing of fantamsic..you will make it in time to get a decent spot.. it won't be like front and center, but its decent :woohoo:
