Evening EMHs-2 or 3 hours?

In the beginning to official policy was "up to 3 hours" but I never saw it when it wasn't the full 3 hours...until our last 2 trips. Now it's 2 hours. Maybe it will change again, maybe it won't :confused3

We've lost the best hour ever. If you've been in MK at 3 am, you know what I mean.

One summer night we were there til 4 am and LOVED it. Slept in the heat of the day, don't need sunglasses, sunscreen, hats, umbrellas. My then ds3 got on the bus to go back to the resort and the lights were on inside the bus, he looked at everyone else on the bus like 'what are YOU doing here at 4 am' while they were wondering what a 3 yo was doing up at 4am :lmao: but we planned for it and fantasyland is never as empty as it will be at 3am.

Let's let the rope droppers go ahead an think that getting up before the crack of dawn then waiting at the gate for an hour just to get on a couple of rides is a big deal.

Late night is where it's at.

And yes, I have small kids. They would feel that they were being punished if they had to leave before closing time.

Ok, now you've just gone too far :rotfl: since we are also rd-ers. Granted not after a 4am night. But a typical day might look like ride 8-12, sleep 1-5, ride 6-1, sleep 2-7. We also plan a max of 2 days in a row at this pace, then rest day.

Also to anyone reading for whom 3 am does not sound appealing, always plan to go to this park at rd the next morning because we won't be back in that same park ;)

Is getting up at 8 a.m. to make a 9 a.m RD the "break of dawn?" :confused3 ;)

I was really excited about our first evening EMH with my daughter last summer (she was six at the time and had never been up that late before), but then I was disappointed at how many people were still in the park at 1 a.m. when EMH was over. I do think the glory days of that last hour are over. We waited 20 minutes for Peter Pan at midnight, which shocked me. I really thought everything would be a walk-on.

Of course, now when I tell her it's late and time for bed, she oftentimes whips out, "Ya know, mom, I stayed out at the Magic Kingdom until 1:00 in the morning!" Then gives me a little eyeroll. LOL. Kids.

Maybe they'll bring that third hour back one day...

EMH @ MK til 3am was one of my favorite vacation memories. I'm hoping that they keep the park open later in June than what is currently scheduled (EMH only til 1am). The park will still clear out but definitely not as much as a 3am EMH. My family of 6 went on Dumbo all by ourselves and each had our own Elephant! When does that ever happen? We also rode BTMR 10 times without having to get off. The CM was saying "Hey do you want to go again?" and we were all going "Yeah let's go!!"
