Just saw announcement that WDW is bringing back evening EMH but only for Deluxe resorts. 😡

Looks like deluxe resorts and deluxe villas, which hopefully means DVC.

Always nice to get a perk if you can? Not really any different than closing the parks early for a ticketed event, except in this case the ticket is included with your hotel room.

I think it does mean DVC.

I don't like it at all and it's due to the fact what once was available to everyone regardless of which resort you stayed at is now for those who spend the most.

We enjoyed a stay in a Deluxe 4 or so years ago, but doubtful we'll be able to do so again. Makes me sad. But I also don't think we took advantage very often. I only hope the FP's don't go this way as well...

It will be going that way. I personally don't mind having to pay for it. I pay for Fastlane for every park I visit.

If it's reasonable or an option you can add on I'm ok with that, but if it's only for Deluxe I am not sure that works for us.

For years, Disney people have been complaining about the unlimited express pass that comes with staying at a Universal Deluxe hotel. I think this is just the beginning at Disney.

It is just the beginning. It feels like it's being accelerated now. I will say this about Universal, people may complain about the Express pass but at least their hotels aren't over priced and still affordable to most families.

I wonder if it means they're going to have extra hours after the park regularly closes or if they're going to close the parks earlier to non Deluxe Resort guests for this

I'm thinking it's going to be that the higher tier resort you stay at the more FP you get. Doubtful it will be unlimited either. Most likely you get 3 free ones and pay for anything above that.
I posted an angry emoji, before I read that last sentence. I'm okay with 3 free. I'm worried that there won't even be that free.

Getting less and less value for staying onsite. I loved Magical Express, the extra magic hours morning and night, but I'm not willing to pay the deluxe prices to get it. Hopefully FP aren't a thing of the past either. It will be more cost effective (and comfortable) to stay in a condo at WBC and pay for an after hours party instead of onsite deluxe to get an extra hour at the end of the night.

Evening EMH have existed for a while, so I’m not sure the mechanics are changing, just no longer including us Pop/AoA plebs.

The one time I did evening EMH it was Magic Kingdom, and I think to Midnight on a 10pm or 1am on an 11pm park close. Everyone gets fireworks, but the ride lines were super thinned out after… even able to do a late night 7DMT. It was pretty fun. Almost like what you get at some of the special-ticket events.

Of course, not everyone’s a night owl (or has old enough kids) to get the value out of it. But not everyone staying on-site is early-bird enough to utilize the morning EMH they’re paying for either.
