Can you tell me more about the Evening EMHs? Do you still need to line up for a wrist band like last year?

Do you have to be in the park before it closes to public?? Or can you go in later?
e.g. park closes at 7pm can we turn up at 8.30pm & still get in?

bump :)
anyone know the answer to my last question?

You certainly could when we were there for EMH evenings last summer :sunny:

Hi,

Just got back from WDW. While we were there we did several EMH evenings and yes you can arrive and get your wristband at the main entrance to each park after the park officially closes. just make sure that you have you Key to the World card for each member of your party. Have fun!!

We accidentally hit an EMH time on the last day of our holiday (staying offsite) all I can say was the Magic Kingdom was bedlam and we could not get out there fast enough. The line for Buzz was 1 1/2 hours. I just didn't see the point of going to the park when all the onsite guest would be there because of the size of the lines. It didn't really seem much of an advantage because of the massive increase in lining up time.

I have to say I am with wicket here - we went to a couple of evening EMHs last August and they were pretty busy!

Anyone got any experience with evening EMH's at non-peak times?

We've always stayed off-site before so we have no previous experience, but our next Florida holiday will be our first time on-site and we're working out whether to do our usual "avoid all EMH's" or whether they are worth using and not ridiculously busy. We'll be travelling in October if this is any help.

Hi Steve,

Not sure if this is helpful or not so please feel free to ignore it if it isn't.

In August (the last two weeks) it was pretty quiet in the parks altogether (though probably not quite as quiet as October ;) ) with the exception of evening EMH. The morning EMHs were pretty quiet though.

Hopefully someone who has been at an even more quiet time than end of August will chip in now :thumbsup2

It was good at MGM on evening EMH to do stuff like the Backlot tour and the Magic of Animation tour and we saved the early mornings for the headline attractions :thumbsup2

mmm i thought the evenings might be quieter, was thinking families with very young children will go early!!!

I did a EMH in oct from about 9pm i think, after about an hour the park really emptied and it was so dead it was a bit spooky!,

I did the EPCOT EMH though and I dident think it was worth it, as there are only a few attractions open and they were swamped with people, we left that one after about 30 mins!

I suppose it depends on the time of year you go really!

We did a few evening EMH on our last visit in July and found it really worthwhile. The later it got the quieter it became and by the last hour or so every attraction was a walk on. So much nicer than the long lines in the day time. I suppose it is maybe more of an advantage in peak season. I love being in the parks after dark as they all take on a different look. Tower of Terror at midnight was awesome and Animal Kingdom is especially lovely at night.

Im another one who believes that EMH are very worthwhile, :thumbsup2 however we have always used them the last 2 weeks in August when the parks seem to be a little bit quieter anyway, that said of all the EMH both mornings and evenings that we used last August, and we took advantage of most of them, only the evening EMH at Magic Kingdom was what I would call really busy.

I love the fact that you can stay later in the parks and the morning EMH to me are brilliant:goodvibes

We're huge EMH fans and plan our park visits to take advantage of as many as we can (and still manage to catch a bit of sleep in between ;) ). We tend not to have many park days in our trips, and EMHs certainly make the most of limited time for us.

We always park hop and, if we hit the morning EMH park, we'll leave by mid morning and switch parks. If we're not doing EMH, we'll avoid the park that has it that day.

I agree with loadsapixiedust that the parks feel different in the dark, and they seem even more special when you're one of the final guests there :wizard:

we used EMH in November 2004 and it was sooooooooooooo awesome,we arrived late like the last hour it was open.It was literally cleared out,we actually looked at each other & said "i wonder if they are still open"? LOL
We walked on so many rides in MK it was wonderful,my kids were sooooooooo thrilled at that moment,as we were not even able to touch some rides during the day but that EMH worked out to our advantage. We are going May 28-June 3 & hope it works out just as good this time around! :cool1:

Got back from WDW 6 days ago and did EMH evenings at both Epcot (open till 12am) and Magic Kingdom (open till 3am). Epcot was heaving, not able to get on any rides unless willing to wait 90mins (except Mission Space). Magic Kingdom was a whole other story, we were able to walk on rides at will. The only queues were for the character greetings! I suspect this did have a lot to do with the timings.......even at Disney most little kids should be in bed long before 3am!!

wow open till 3 a.m oh man i would love that.LOL :cool1: i agree most little ones will be way tired out by then.

when we were there last July and again in August we avoided all of the EMHs, morning and evening.
However, when when we were there in September we accidentally arrived at the MK on an EMH evening. I couldn't understand why main street was so crowded for the parade (we'd come specially in time for the night parade and fireworks).
When i realized the crowd was moving into the park rather than out, it dawned on me that we must have hit EMH. But since we were just there for the parade and fireworks i didn't care.

But then, just for the hell of it, while we waited for the fireworks (after the parade was over) we went over and got our wristbands (we always stay onsite).

As soon as the fireworks were over, the park really emptied out and it was heavenly. I love the MK at night when it's completely empty like that. My daughter and I walked onto every ride, no line at all. It was wonderful and we had a fantastic time.
