I'm starting to plan our itinerary for October and we are thinking of doing evening EMH at Epcot. Since FW closes at 7 and WS is open until 9, how does EMH work? FW until 10 and WS until 12 or is everything open until 12?
I've heard MK evening EMH is pretty crowded, but what about Epcot? TIA!!!

finding the answers to these questions as well. Thanks for asking them!

I went about 2.5 weeks ago, and it was packed. Now we didn't have a wait for Mission Space only because we arrived there about 8:50 and walked on in. After that, we went to Test Track, and our wait was about 35 minutes. That was about all we did. By that time it was 9:45 with Soarin being a 90 minute wait. We already spent most of the early evening at the WS, so we were bushed. I've seen some people post where they enjoyed the evening hours. I think the later you stay, the less crowded, but we couldn't go until midnight. I've decided to stick with the early morning hour. If you go, good luck and have fun!

I just read your post again. Since you're going in October, I guess all bets are off. I was there the week before Memorial Day. It might be totally different in October. You've got some time to decide.

I believe World Showcase closes right after Illuminations and everyone is shuffled into Future World which is the part of the park that stays open 2-3 hours later for an EMH evening.

It's 9:00 to Midnight:
Mission Space
Test Track
Spaceship Earth
Universe of Energy
Soarin
El Rio del Tiempo (Mexico)
Honey I Shrunk
Journey Into Imagination
Maelstrom (Norway)

When I was there in early May, almost everything was open until 9:00 in FW on EMH night, no 7:00 close.

I was there last week and did the Thursday night EMH. I will not bother to do so again. The rides in FW do not close until 9 pm on Thursday nights, so EMH is from 9-midnight. We got on MS with a short 15 minute wait, but checked on Soarin' and there was a 90 minute wait! I don't think EMH is as good as e-ride night. There are just too many people on property now. If they limited the number of people allowed to stay in the park, it would be better. I hope we go back to e-ride nights or perhaps break up the EMH by resort type: value, moderate, deluxe, home away from home, instead of having EVERYONE at the park at once.

Have a great time!

Thanks for your advice everyone! Sounds pretty crowded and with younger kids we wouldn't be staying super late anyway. I was also forgetting that it's F&W while we're there which will add to the crowds, so we will probably be skipping it!

I'm surprised how much is actually open during the EMH at Epcot. As far as rides go, it just seems like the Living Seas and Living with the Land are closed, and all of the 360 degree movies.

We're heading out in Jan. '06, where the crowds are supposed to be much lower than they are right now. I'm hearing that a lot of people are saying that it's very crowded on EMH night, but are the people that aren't staying at the Disney Hotels getting on the rides, or are the just clogging up the movement around the park?

It is a little know fact but we found out accidently in Nov that MS, TT and SE are all open until 9:00 nightly even though FW "closes" at 7pm. I suspect Soarin' has been added to the list. Even if you don't take advantage of EMH evening you still can do plenty in FW.
