Evening EMH at Animal Kingdom?

If you have been at AK during one of their evening EMH's I'd love to hear your experience! It doesn't seem like there are a lot of attractions open so was it worth it or were the lines long?

With teenagers I just don't know how many mornings we will be able to get them out of bed super early to be at the parks when they open so I'm considering this as one of our options.

I've been to Evening EMH at AK several times. Lines aren't long at all, especially as the hours go on. In April, DS and DDIL went on EE 3 X in a row with about a 10-15 minute wait each time. Note that whatever time AK is open until, the safari ends at sunset regardless.

We were there July 14-28th, and my girlfriend and I left our husbands with the kids and went to AK for EMH - great time! I dragged her on Everest twice, once before dark and once after dark - only 20 min. wait (awesome in the dark!). She paid me back by dragging me on Kali River Rapids - no wait at all, and we got to stay on and ride again.
The AK is great at night, very beautiful with all the foliage lit up, not as hot as the daytime and hardly busy at all. All the bigger rides are open (Dinosaur, Primeval Whirl, EE, Kali) and they run some shows too, Tough to Be a Bug and Festival of the Lion King. Enjoy!

AK is my absolute favorite park for evening EMH. It doesn't go into the wee hours of the night, so you still can get up the next morning after staying for the full EMH. The park is just so beautiful after dark, with very subtle lighting. In May, DD and I saw a raccoon run across the walkway on our way out of the park. We joked with a nearby CM - the ONLY other person around - that it must have escaped from the Pocohontas show. We got to ride EE about 5 times in a row with no wait whatsoever. It is a very different ride at night! Being up there on the mountain looking out over the dark park is so neat. Primeval Whirl was really fun at night too. We didn't do Kali at night, but I plan to in a few weeks. The safari does close at sunset, because they don't light it up so you wouldn't be able to see anything after dark. We got on the last ride and it was so great. I'd say the evening EMH at AK are definitely worth it, LOTS of fun and it feels very different after dark.

Yes, always try for the last safari ride and generally make it.

first time, it was just me and mother - and our driver was from Ala, too!!!
