Welcome!

Hi everyone and welcome to not only my first PTR but also my first post! Although we may be 475 days from our WDW trip as I type this, this is a common interaction between myself and my boyfriend currently;

So who is 'myself'? I'm Rachel, I live in England and my favourite Disney film is Beauty and the Beast. My boyfriend Chris loves food and fast rides. We've been together 3 years and love to travel.

I have been to WDW twice before. My first trip was in October 1999 with my sister and parents, and we met up with my Uncle and cousins who live in MA while we were out there. It was a surprise destination holiday and a dream come true. Please view the excitement below on my face (and my bright blue capris). We stayed off-site, and ended up in 3 villas across the two weeks due to the awful situation that my Uncle had booked for the second villa!

I went back to WDW in February 2007. This time I was with my mum, sister, auntie and 2 cousins. We went for a goodbye holiday as they were moving to Australia (this never materialised but at least we go the holiday out of it!). Again we stayed offsite. We were meant to be in an I-Drive hotel for a couple of nights either side of a week in a villa, but when we arrived it was like the opening scenes of a CSI program!

We ended up sleeping the six of us in one room for one night, and then managed to get into the villa for the remainder of the holiday! In the picture below I have not been punched in the face, I am just going through my 'no-one understands my 15 year old soul so I'm going to wear a lot of black eyeliner' stage.

I have also been to Disneyland Paris a few times as it's only a 90 minute flight away :earsgirl:

Chris however has never been to Disney, or to the US at all actually, so it's a first for him. It's almost like a first for me, as it is the first time I will be planning and organising everything.

I guess that is something you should know- I looooooove to plan!

Which is guess is clearly demonstrated by the fact I am writing a PTR for a Oct 2016 trip! Luckily Chris hates to be late but doesn't like taking control, so follows everything I say. I guess that's why we've been together 3 years!

I look forward to sharing the plans for our trip and getting your feedback over the next few months!

If you can dream it, you can do it!

So, how did this trip come to be? I'd been harping on to Chris for the past few months how if we didn't go to Disney soon we'd have to wait until after we'd had kids and they'd grown/aged appropriately. Now (despite my mother's best hopes) we aren't anticipating children for another 5+ years, so to wait 15 years for Disney just seemed too long!

We actually originally had plans to visit Disney this year, however Chris had second thoughts when he realised there would be KIDS there!! NO WAY!!!

Anyway, we booked Mexico for October 2015 instead. However, after I explained to Chris how I'd done my research to find the best time for us to visit we revisited the idea. And when a great deal came up - WE BOOKED IT FOR 2016 INSTEAD!

Soooo... what did we book?!

We will be staying at THE BEACH CLUB!

(not my picture)

We have a water view room, from Saturday 15th October to Monday 24th October 2016 (9 nights).
In fact we will be back 17 years to the DAY that I first went to WDW! Back in '99 we flew out on the 15th October (I remember because this is my sister's birthday, and pilot said Happy Birthday to her!).

We have 14 day Ultimate Tickets (park hoppers, water parks and mini golf), and we also got the free DDP (1TS, 1QS, 1S). I ummed and ahhed about the DDP and thought about holding out to see if there was a room discount instead, but when I figured it out DDP actually worked out better for us! Chris likes to eat alot, and actually prefers a dessert with most meals. We also also visiting during F&W for snack usage.

We will spend 1 day in Universal/IOA, and also will need to book for MNSSHP!!!

Such an exciting time of year to go!
