Another resort change? You do what you have to do do.

I love the looks of the ADR's (finally tried Via Napoli last week). I wasn't a fan of WCC at all, but am giving it another try in July because the girls want to go.

I have to agree with you Wendy. Planning Disney trips is sadly becoming a (sometimes) unpleasant task. I think the fact that we've been a little "spoiled" in the sense that we just expect the yearly discounts and Free Dining, but getting it is a whole other matter. I don't have a lot of experience with the Free Dining promotion, but I do heard this year was chaos. For me the discount was the thing, and that was a breeze to do online. But Carrie was trying for Free Dining and was hitting wall after wall and spending hours on hold. Not pleasant. She did get it recently though, but just at All Star Sports.

But all that said... YAY WILDERNESS LODGE!!!!!!!!! I know it's not what you were after, but I truly feel you will love it there. Especially if they get the Christmas decorations up. I'm not sure if it's too early or not though. But YAY WILDERNESS LODGE!!!!

Wilderness Lodge!

We love the Wilderness Lodge. It is our favorite resort because it is so beautiful. We also love how easy it is to get to MK and having FW right next door. We like the BC for its location, but the WL will always win when it comes to the resort itself.

Ugh, what a bummer with your bad luck. Trust me, I had it too with Free Dining. And... that was kinda the straw that broke the camel's back and sadly I decided a second full-on Disney trip in 2015 just wasn't going to happen (hoping to make it down for a day during your trip though when I visit my dad near Tampa). Anyway, I'm SO glad that you guys got WL though!!! That surely is exciting!!!!!!

I'm glad you finally found something you are happy with. I know what you mean about staying at the same resort again. As nice as the AKL is there are other places you want to try and you should. WL is lovely. It's so different from all the other resorts. We are staying there in December and I am really looking forward to the whole Christmas scene there.

You have such a lovely long trip. That's awesome!

So happy things are going well with your photography classes and your paintings. Way to go!

I'll reply later on, but I just wanted to say that I was about 75% successful with my ADRs this morning! A couple of surprise no-goes -- No Rose & Crown, no Nine Dragons, and no Raglan Road! But we'll keep checking for those. The big thing is...

Breakfast wasn't an option for us so we're going to keep checking on that. I want to do one day of nothing but BOG meals. A trifecta of awesome!

I'm sorry for all the bumps you have experienced with your planning, but I'm glad you were able to get a spot at Wilderness Lodge. My friends just recently stayed there and they LOVED it!

Looks like you and I will be at T-Rex at the same time. I'm hoping to get an ADR for 11/15 at 5pm as well! (Can we say Dismeet??)

So, which day did you get BOG for? I'm hoping to get BOG Dinner on 11/19 (fingers crossed). My ADR day is not until Tuesday

We had the same trouble with our anniversary trip coming up next Wednesday. I had a 30% pin and we tried for Epcot area, but it was very limited and more than we wanted to pay. I left my BC reservation as is, came back a week later and a bunch of availability had opened up and we ended up booking Wilderness Lodge. I'm so excited about it. The resort is beautiful and I've always wanted to stay there.

Glad you got most of your ADRs, including BOG!

First of all, I am so sorry for the loss of your cousin.

I'm also sorry for the drama and disappointment that can come from trying to wrangle discounts. Even if they aren't something one should count on, if they've always worked out it is hard not to!

I am thrilled though that WL did come through, that will be lovely!!!

As for Raglan, try booking via Open Table. No cc to hold and tons more openings in my experience.

Quickie update: I am updating from my new laptop! My desktop finally died, and my laptop was 8 years old (yes 8, and it's still trucking!) and since the new Dis doesn't have an app, I found it really hard to keep up with you all. New laptop doesn't necessarily mean I'll be better at keeping up... but it can only improve my chances.

Woooooo!! I'm here and so excited for you! SO much nail biting over these resort changes! Wilderness Lodge is so exciting and amazing! Its definitely on my must do list. I'm also so excited for your dates as I'm hoping we will be going the same time next year (...or the year after next ) So I'll be all over your TR!! (and WL is in contention for our stay too!)

Soooo....has all the snow melted by now?

I will also mention I just finished reading the trip report that shall not be named. Helped bolster my feeling that Disney trips should not be with family.......buahahahaha.

Ooh, new computers are always fun. I am still hanging on to my desktop. Just can't bring myself to upgrade to a laptop yet. Not having the DIS app anymore was a bit of a change for me, too. I tended to open it whenever I got a free chance on my phone and found I was better at keeping up with everyone.


No Rose and Crown or Raglan Road or Nine Dragons ADRs? That is surprising. You would have thought those would have been the easy ones to nab. Perhaps something will open up the closer the dates get.

Hello... so sorry folks. I haven't been around in forever! I've been so busy and honestly, just couldn't get my act together to get on here and catch up with anyone/everyone. It seems as though I've missed some major drama (and I'm still trying to figure out what exactly happened, though I certainly don't want to invade any privacy,) and I know there's no way I can ever properly catch up so I might end up jumping in on the end of some reports. I can't even promise I'll be back to finish this, just based on knowing what I'm like!

I've also been a little unhappy with Disney lately. They just announced construction at the WL while I'm there, and I'm not really ok with paying full deluxe price when many things will not be available due to the construction (quiet pool, beach, campfires, wilderness trail and playground will be down, from what I read.) Some guests are getting $100 per night off to compensate, some have been moved to other resorts with upgraded views, while keeping their free dining! Just our luck -- we get nothing. All I want is to take either my free dining, or my 30% pin (both of which I already have!) to any other deluxe resort... but we can't unless we upgrade to club level -- NOT in our budget! I'm not asking for freebies or upgrades, but I don't want my magical 5 year anniversary trip to be marred by construction. We had to save up for a while to do a deluxe resort this trip and we had hoped it would be special.

Anyway, I'm still waiting for a response to an email we sent (since the calls weren't getting us anywhere.) I may just try to be more active again... no promises! But in the meantime maybe you could leave a note to tell me what you're working on now? New TR? PTR? I'm missing my Dis time.

Hi Wendy! You are not the only one that missed the drama...I missed as well so you are not alone! I hate the construction at WL will be going on during your trip, that just sucks. I have seen on some of the FB pages I'm a part of that some people that were scheduled to stay there during that time have received upgrades..I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it works out for you too!! Maybe you will have better luck with your email!

I've made some ADR changes on my end...I was able to get the Ohana Dinner ADR I was hoping for and for the time I wanted as well (5:05pm on 11/16). I'm super excited, so of course with that change it lead into some other changes as well. I need to update all the changes in my PTR at some point.
