We will be renting an EVC ( what DOES that stand for , anyway ?) for my husband to use, mainly in the parks due to limited stamina for walking. What do you do in the restaurants , for example , Biergarten where they seat you at tables with others.. Do they have a place to park the EVC while you eat ? He can certainly walk to tables and to the buffets.

I asked this question somewhere else, but don't remember where, maybe on the dining boards, but will never find it again to get my answer.

While I am asking questions, we need a EVC for over 300 lbs. Will we likely find one that can be taken apart and will fit in our rental full size car, or should we just plan to use Disney transportation for any park we want to visit ? We are staying at CSR and I hear their buses are only go to that resort so are usually not crowded. We are going in late Oct.

The "heavy duty" type ECVs are probably too heavy and too bulky to easily lift in and out of your trunk, as they are likely 4 wheeled, and not 3 wheeled. I would use Disney Transportation.

ECV has ben said to mean "Electric Conveyance Vehicle" or "Electric Convenience Vehicle." Depending upon the website offering the info.

Since he can transfer for restaurants, you can leave the ECV parked outside in a Stroller parking area (be sure to remove the keys). Just ask the CMs where a convenient place is to park them. Also, you may want to bring and inexpensive rain poncho to cover the ECV while you dine, in case of rain.

if you check the disABILITIES FAQs thread, there are links to some rental companies that DIS posters recommend. You will find the links in post #2 of that thread. The different websites have information about the types of ECVs they rent.
As Chuck mentioned, you may not find any heavy duty ECVs that can be taken apart to fit in a car, but at least you can see.

Chuck already said the same thing I would say about parking.

Thank you very much . I just reserved a large scooter from Walker that does disassemble and will fit in a trunk, if we ever want to drive to a park. I appreciate your help. Feeling much better now that that is settled.
