Evan is going to see "Bickey Bouse" on a wish trip!

hey guys,

looking for some advice on footwear. should i get some crocs for the trip? i really dislike the way they look, but everyone says they are really comfy. does anyone have an opinion? i am only thinking for the adults, since ev doesn't walk it shouldn't matter?

I like the Croc Scutes. They fit me nice, and are like double cushioned in the heel. I have to admit - Ev would look cute in a pair of the mickey crocs!!!!!!

Once you try Crocs, you will never go back! They really are THAT comfortable! Plus, you can get different-looking Crocs--sandals, MaryJanes, flipflops, etc. And, yes--I think Evan would look adorable in them! A lot of kids collect little buttons you can attach to them, too.

Also, love Evan's Mickey ears! Hope he is feeling better.

There is a store at MCO airport as well!! They also sell crocs at WDW - I think people get them there when they get blisters!! lol.....

Do you have a Dicks Sporting Goods near you? They usually have them, and sometimes Boscov's??? It'd be nice if you could try them on first. There isnt too much of a breaking in with them. Sometimes though, I get a tiny bit of rubbing on the inside of the top of my foot when I first start going barefoot and walking long distance in them. So I put some bodyglide on that spot and then no problems!!!

Some people also like the Teva Mush for in the parks. They are a little too squishy for me for long distance, but they are comfy.

I have to disagree with everyone. First of all, I think the old fashioned crocs are really ugly and I wouldn't be caught dead in them. But I did buy the Alice Work ones specifically for Disney b/c I think they are adorable. They give me blisters. I have to put gel stickies in them in a couple of spots by my toes. So if you call getting blisters from crocs comfy then look for another shoe.

I just looked at their site though and think the Carlie Platform Flips are cute as are the Sexy Flips. The Cyprus II are great looking, but probably not as practical for Disney. They have some cute wedges to. I say buy a pair and let me know how you like them. I would be willing to try a pair of flips if I were guaranteed they'd be nice.

i had some paypal money left from my ebaying, so i bought a pair of cleo 2 sandals. andrea, i think the traditional ones are pretty ugly too. i will let you know how i like these!

forst day back at school from spring break. evan came home with words to learn for a spelling test. i am not sure whether to practice them orally or on his comm. device. it didn't go real well this evening...

but anyway, i did call to talk to the manager of the dream village today. since this PRT is hopefully going to be helpful for future sunshine families, i learned that all the cottages have accessible bathrooms, and in fact the entire complex is completely accessible but, they do not have the "small hole" potty seat, so we need to bring one. also, i asked if they had irons and ironing boards, and miss wanda told me she would make sure we had one there. also, they do provide beach towels for the pool as well as regular linens. lastly, i asked how cottages were assigned (since they are all themed) and asked if we could make a request. she said she couldn't guarantee, but would try to put us where we wanted to be...did i mention they have a SNOW WHITE cottage?!?!?!?!? so, i hope that ev will get to stay there! how fun is that!!!

i also spoke to the photographer who is going to do evan's pics on our last day in the magic kingdom...super excited about that! ev is gonna have some pics in a white button up, khakis and mouse ears, and some in a really awesome green mickey peace shirt. can't wait to share these with you all.

and lastly, my bff (the one i was visiting in tampa), called today and said that they went to downtown disney last week when the shuttle launch was scrubbed, and they found a place where you can build your own remote control car! ev loves remote control cars!! of course, claudia wanted to do it that day, but daddy suggested she wait till her date with ev at t-rex and they could build them together. they even wanted it to be their treat for evan too...how nice

anyway, wanted to let you know some of the fun coming up...if i could only make work go faster! LOL!

Ridemakerz is the name of the place at DTD to make the RC cars. THere was a family who went on their wish trip the same time as we did. The mom made contact with a manager at Ridemakerz prior to her trip, and he arranged for them to have a private experience in the store prior to opening one day during their trip. This was not arranged by their wish granting organization, just something mom was able to set up. I think they gave them an hour or so in the store, and created a cool VIP thing for them. Sounds like it would be worth a call!! She never did a TR, so there's no follow up, but it sounds amazing to me. Here's a link to her post about what they planned.

Glad you guys are getting the photog on that last day. It will be a wonderful way to capture such a dream vacation! Can't wait to see those pics.

And the RC car thing---so cool! So nice of your friends' to want to treat him to that. Would totally be worth it for you to give them a call and see about setting up your own little tour. Certainly couldn't hurt! That would be so special to get some star treatment for Evan! Dino lunches and customized RC cars....I can see that being an awesome day for a little boy!

I also hear that you can build-you-own-lightsabre somewhere in DTD, too. Don't know if Star Wars is something Evan is into, but maybe for some of your other party members?

hey gang!

wanted to share a few pics of baseball, and one of a snow white shirt my mom and i made for me to wear to CRT with my little prince in his costume. i hope that if people like it, we could make it for some BG's. anyway, hope you like the pics!

LOL...i promise when i have on some makeup and straighten my hair. i did make a flippin' adorable red satin headband that i LOVE! ev thought i looked like her, anyways! (especially since i had to finally color my hair to hide the gray and it turned out a little darker!!)
