Evacuating for Flooding

We live in Asheville, NC and I am sitting here as alot of my friends are being evacuated to higher ground. I can't believe the damage from Francis and now Ivan to this area....Please say a prayer for all of the families being displaced from Florida to the Carolina's. We don't have any power, or water at our house but I feel lucky to at least have a house to go home to. We all kept watching this storm coming but we had no idea that when it got here it would still have winds as high as they were. They recorded one wind gust of 97 mph, between the trees falling on power lines, and the horrible flooding....I can't believe the damage these storms are bringing to everyone. Living in the mountains of western North carolina you don't expect hurricane force winds.

Anyway just keep all of these people in mind....Thanks!

We lost power for about 5 hours here in Greensboro. We've had a lot of flash flooding.

Mel, my prayers are with all those affected by Ivan. I have seen many pictures of the destruction caused in Pensacola and AL, it's just devastating. I truly feel sad for everyone affected, it's going to take a lot of time to recover from all these hurricanes.

Please don't forget about Alabama. Ivan came onshore in South Alabama and traveled the entire state yesterday... wreaking havoc the entire way. There are widespread evacuations from flooding in Central AL.

Definitely praying for all of you....we are dealing with massive flooding here too..yes, in Pittsburgh. You would think all of the hills would be great, but the problem is all of the hills have a valley. So, it is impossible to get anywhere. My dH is out there, had to abandon his truck...rain rain go Away!!!!
