Does anyone know roughly when tickets will be available for the indirect trains via Lille for October, direct train going at a great price but the return is more pricy than I'd like to pay. Has anyone booked train one way until indirect prices were out, was it any hassle?

I know they come out 3 months before the travel date - I've booked my tickets separately when I've been to London and it was straightforward. You can reserve either with the Voyages Sncf or with Capitaine Train which some people say are cheaper but I've not found that :confused3 Cheapest one way adult is 15€

I've booked a one way on the direct train and then a return via Lille at a later date, if that's what you mean. I got a great price for the outbound direct train when the tickets were released but I wanted to come back on a Tuesday so had to wait until three months out before I could book my indirect train home. I had no problems doing this. The only small issue I had was that I couldn't book the one way via Lille on the UK website, only the French website. I have a feeling this may have changed since then but I'm not 100% sure.

Bear in mind that when booking indirect, the trains to and from Lille are released further in advance that the whole journey to DLP. As a result the prices may have gone up before the TGV prices are released three months out. I booked indirect twice now and have got the cheapest tickets at the three month mark, however if you're booking for peak times or don't want to take the risk then you might want to book the Lille-London tickets when released and then the TGV bit later on using the websites mentioned by Carrie Cat above.

This is exactly what I mean, thank you. Thats actually the reason why I want to do it, found the direct train going for £35 but its £95 coming back so going to hold off with the return price until indirect released, didn't realise it was so close to the date as I thought it was about 4/5 months out I booked indirect last time. No, pretty quiet time as far as I know - early October

It was early October I booked for last year. I got the cheapest return by booking the whole journey three months before, however I did keep an eye on the price of the Lille-London tickets after they had been released to make sure they weren't going up.
