eurostar tickets

Being super organised I bought these months ago and now looks like we cant go. The tickets arent refundable and I cant change the dates. I was wondering if its possible to change the names on them? Or do eurostar not check the names against the passports?

Eurostar will not change the names on the tickets. It states this in there terms and conditions.

I didnt book direct with eurostar so wasnt even told at the time of booking they were non refundable etc

Yes they do check, esp on the way home.

If you didn't book direct then who did you book with? Is it through a travel agent as part of your package? If so, although the tickets will have been allocated for you, they might not have been finalised yet so there may be a glimmer of hope. I think you need to speak to your travel agent about this.

Yes I booked through Thomas Cook and theyve rang Eurostar and they told Thomas Cook nothing they can do

I've just checked our travel insurance policy and it doesn't cover cancellation for a normal pregnancy, only if there is accompanying illness, injury or complication. I would guess they will all be pretty much the same.
