I wonder if maybe someone that posts on the UK board might have done that. I'm thinking that maybe they might have wanted to save on air fare and stay closer to home.
We stayed at a place about 1/2 way between London and Brighton in 2001 on HGVC points. They, like Disney, are extremely selective on where they'll let you trade into. So much so that our place was a summer cottage for royalty that was converted into a timeshare. It was beautiful.
We're beginning to think about Disneyland Paris in the future. Neither of us speak French though. Have concerns about how important that is.
MDonley - We used points for a stay at Disney Paris 9 years ago. We stayed at Newport Beach Club for four nights and it included passes to the parks. Although I do speak French, it had been years since I had used it. No problem - since the CM's there spoke many languages. The CM at check in was from North Carolina. In the travel agency, one day when we were arranging a tour to Versailles, they went to find an agent to speak Italian because that's what they thought I was from looking at me. LOL! So, don't be nervous about the language thing. I went to school years ago in Europe and not much English was used, but when I went back with my son in '95, it was used everywhere.
