ET's Pre trip and Trip report. TR pg 6 #87. New 10/14 THE END on pg 19 #271

I feel like I got to the party too late, and there's just one person left sweeping the floor . . .

I have a BAZILLION comments! Hmmmmm .. ..

First! I loved you latest installment! I'm glad your daughters had a great time at the dinner. I couldn't help but wonder how I would react if I got to do that at their age. Too bad all the fun kid stuff didn't even exsist when I was that young!
Sorry about the young folks at the Night of Joy. I think what happens is alot of people send their kids thinking it's safe because it's a Christian event, even though they don't attend the church they are sending them with. We used to have problems like this when our Youth dept sponsered Skating trips. There would be a mass amount of kids that we've never seen before acting a fool! Their parents would just drop them off at the bus.

OH! And thanks for your comments about my "singleness" and what I deserve. It makes it easier to hold out for the right one! :thumbsup2

I think I mentioned before that by this Spring I should know when (if) my next Disney trip will be. I think I'm going to aim for September (after Labor Day), or the 2nd week of December. It would be great to meet up again! Maybe this time we'll have even more people!

Sorry, I know I went off topic, but gimmie a break! I've missed a day's worth of chit chat! Now I'm going to see what else I've missed today!

Great TR! First of all you girls are beautiful! I love the Barlow Girls too. As a youth director, your experience makes me sad. I am forever warning my kids about how to act in public when we go places. My biggest problems have just been with them being too loud, always the case with teens. I would love to take them to a Night of Joy - better start fundraising now!! :)

I am so glad you are instilling such great values in your kids. I am sure that Snow Whites random acts of kindness were a blessing to many. Just think of all the seeds she sowed! :thumbsup2

pirate: You are right, the CM had a uncanny resemblance to the real Jack Sparrow! Your pic captured it perfectly - hey, is that Umama sneaking up behind him? Naughty Umama, you should keep your hands to yourself, your DH would not like that! :lmao:

Still hooked :rotfl:

I may need to borrow Snow White for a week so she can teach my little stinkerbelle's how to act right (can you tell I'm from the South, too? :rotfl: ) I know you're so proud of her, and I hope she knows what a lift it gives the rest of us to know that there ARE kids her age who will grow up to be inspirations! :cheer2:

Okay, I should be asleep right now, so if I say anything dumb, just chalk it up to sleep typing.
You are probably right about the kids at the Night of Joy. I hadn't thought of that.
Your Welcome~ :goodvibes We all want you to find the RIGHT guy! :thumbsup2
Be sure to let us all know when your going to be in the World again maybe some of us can meet up again.
And I'm truly glad you could stop by and chitchat for awhile... :teeth:

P.S. That wasn't a bazillion comments... :smooth: And why can't you have a princess dinner? Prince Charming is an equal opportunity kind of guy. Book a dinner and tell them you want to interact with the CM's and I don't think that they would have a problem in the world with that. And then you can feel just like a little kid again! :goodvibes Remember, you're never too old to have fun!

Thank you for your compliment on my kids. :goodvibes I am so glad my daughter loves the Barlow girls. I like the message they give out. :thumbsup2 I don't mind buying them their music.
I really don't mind loud or boisterous kids having fun. They make me laugh and joy should never be squelched. :teeth: This was just a bit of mean spiritedness on the part of some of these kids, but not all of them. :)

Isn't that the truth about sowing seeds. I had something I did as a kid, thankfully good, come back to me when I was older. And I never realized I had even sown the seed! Just simple acts of kindness can do so much.

Yeah, I liked that picture too! :thumbsup2 Yeah, I have to watch out for Umama sneaking around Jack. Her dh told her if she could find Jack, he was a freebie. I really don't think I like the sound of that....

Thank you very much. :goodvibes And she is a very good babysitter! :thumbsup2

How old are your little ones?

5 and 2 - the five year old has gotten into the whole "lying because she can" phase, and the 2 year old is just, well, Satan. :smooth:

Oh dear Lord, you have just gotten started. You have a lot more phases to go through! A lot of which aren't pleasant. They lying thing is hard. You just have to let them know how it feels so they can relate! They don't like seeing it mirrored back.

Satan hmmmm..... :smooth: You are referring to my middle child now. The bright spot is that a seemingly evil child can also be the most loving of all your children. :goodvibes They just feel things STRONGLY! :teeth:

I bet they are both really adorable and very well loved by a mommy who could use a definate mommy break! :goodvibes It will get better, I promise!

And it looks like you have a vacation coming up in 3 monthes. Just hold out a little longer! :teeth:

AMEN! ET you must have met my DD. :rotfl: :rotfl2: I have always told my friends that "I know she is a gift from God, but the devil got a hold of her first." :rotfl2: :lmao:

You're right about the loving thing too. They must just be extremely emotional. :scratchin

Sorry to sideline your TR.

I have a funny story about that! My oldest daughter and I were discussing how God is in everything we see and she asked what he looked like. She was around 5 years old at the time and I kind of searched for an answer she would understand. I said, "Well, we're made in his image, so he must look like us." I was feeling proud of myself when my middle daughter, she was 2 1/2-3 years old, pops off, "Well I've seen him." I was dumbstruck and replied, "You've seen God?" She replied, "Well, I've seen his feet." Okay now I'm hooked. "You've seen God's feet?" "Yeah momma." she said like she couldn't believe I was even asking her. Okay can't wait to see what she says next. "How did you see his feet?" To which she replied calmly, "Oh, I saw them when he kicked me out of heaven." I lie not! I about lost it, then turned to my mom and said, "Well that explains everything!" :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: I wonder what I did to deserve this! I must have really made him mad at me. Or he knew that people like us would be the only ones to put up with them and not do them any harm! I used to joke saying, "God made them look like angels when they sleep so you won't leave them on the side of the road while they're defenseless! :teeth: :rotfl:

I am truly glad to know there are other moms out there with this same child!

Hi Lan! It looks like it's getting close to time for you to take off for the World and leave us all here with just our memories....

Just ignore me. I've got the miss Disney World blues.... :teeth: Are you excited that your trip is getting closer? Have you already packed? Have you done a pre trip report yet? ;)

I am getting excited, but no where near pulling out the suitcase. I don't know if I will do a pre-trip report. I have never done one and don't know if I could measure up to you, Gmax, UtahMama, Mel, Zzub, Sneezie, and the long list of others.

ET - you are good for me - my Mom just laughs at me and says that the Mother's Curse really does work - twice in my case :confused3

Thanks for being supportive - and I am always open for suggestions on exercising the demons ;)

I was wondering where you had gotten off too lately. Thank you I think she's cute too! Now when was that sleepover at your house again? :rotfl:

I lof you too, but maybe not in a sisterly way because the way my girls fight it looks to be painful.

:teeth:

And my kids saw the picture of Nanny 911 at MGM and Belle says "Look it's nanny 911. She needs to come to our house!" I looked at her and said, "So... you agree that you're that bad." "Moooooooom!" "No, we don't need the nanny." That was a priceless moment.

Tell your friend that her daughter will grow out of it and eventually settle into her non terroristic ways or at least become more sneaky about it!

P.S. Did you read that comment a few posts back about you sneaking up on Jack Sparrow???? :)

Day 4
This is the day we leave all the lazy people to sleep in while Snow White, Belle, and I go trekking across country to try and find the stables. I had called the front desk the night before and she told me to take a bus from the GF to Fort Wilderness. Well when I arrived downstairs to do just that, I was told it would be quicker to take the monorail to MK and then the ferry from there to Fort Wilderness. Do you think these CMs get together and think up ways to annoy the guests to get back for all the guests that annoy them?

Well, my ungracious thoughts behind me, we took the monorail and the ferry and ended up over by the hoop de doo revue. We then had to trek even further along to the bus stop to, SURPRISE! catch a bus to the stables.

We were told to be at the stables at least 30 minutes before ride time to make sure you get to ride. You have to sign all sorts of liability waivers…. We finally arrive at the stables and Belle is chomping at the bit. Excuse my pun, but she is a definite horsey kind of girl. If she had her way, we’d have a horse living with her in her bedroom. Unfortunately or thankfully, depending on which side of this conversation you are on, her little sister Cinderella is allergic to horses! What luck. Poor Belle.

We sign all the paperwork and then walk down to the paddock to wait on the trailride. As we are standing there my daughter tries to read a sign written in legalease. Or written so that most people can’t understand it. My daughter turned to me and said “Mom, what does that sign say?" I replied, “It says if you get killed or injured while riding a horse, tough nookies.” Of course I was just paraphrasing. She looked at me and said, “It does not!” I said yes it does.

There was an young English couple leaning against the fence while this conversation was taking place and they started to laugh and the man said, “Well, I don’t think it’s really that bad.” I told my daughter Belle to substitute the word horse for the word equine in all the sentences and when she did she turned to me and said, “That can’t be good.” “It does kind of say what you said it did.” The sign was a general warning about the dangers of riding a horse.

The riders leave for the trail.

The Englishman waited in the paddock area with me while his wife and my kids went off riding. We talked about lots of different things from mortgages to the people off riding. After a 45 minute wait the horses came back and amazingly all the riders were still on the horses.

The riders return

Tired, but happy girls.

My daughter was happy, and said it was the highlight of her trip! Snow White was such a good kid for going with Belle and keeping her company and keeping an eye on her for me. They were both talking about how sore they were when they got off the horse and I said “That’s why those cowboys always walk so bowlegged.” They both looked at me and said, “Well that makes sense.” I looked at Belle and said, “Hey, don’t you ride horses at your aunts house?” And she said yes. “Then why are you so sore?” Her answer? “The saddles must not be so big.” What? :confused3

We walked back over to the bus stop to await the orange bus line. We had been told by a very nice woman bus driver named Vera that we could catch the Orange line and ride straight over to the TTC. How simple would it have been to go straight to the TTC and then to the stables?????? Okay in the next part of this story I was not a nice person. But I will come clean and fess up.
