ET's Pre trip and Trip report. TR pg 6 #87. New 10/14 THE END on pg 19 #271

OOOOH Horse back riding! This didn't even cross my mind to do this time! Yet another thing to put on the list!

Good morning ET!!! :Pinkbounc

I am thinking about doing a pre-trip report. If I need help, I will come to u and Glendamax.

Good Morning ET,
Where r u? I have missed you. I am enjoying your TR though. I did not know you could go horseback riding at WDW!!!! Those Disney folks think of everything don't they. My DD said, "How do they think of all this stuff?"

I have to tell you I have the post WDW blues myself as well as a post WDW cold. Which really just adds misery to the misery. :sad2:

I am trying to decide when I want to go back. Now, if money were not an issue It would be soon. Really soon. I really want to go and see all of the Christmas decorations. I know that would be fabulous. I would also like to go and not sweat to death. My DSis has never been and I keep telling her to save her pennies. I would love to take her...she would love it too!

BTW, I am writing my TR...The Hill Family's Surprise Vac. you'll have to check it out. :thumbsup2 Also did you know Gmax Mama is writing a TR? It is a must read!

Well...I looking forward to your next installment.

Hi ET!
I just wanted to tell you I'm enjoying your trippie!
Your girls are beautiful! How lucky to have a house full of girls! My DD would be in heaven. She is infatuated with "sisters".
Looking foward to more! Love the pics of the girls on the horses. princess:

How fun to ride horses at Disney!

I always pass up this stuff because it isnt on the ticket! And the jet skis, and the watch the fireworks on a boat tour, and the tours, and the Seguay lessons, and Cirq du Soliel...(sigh)

I'm a little nervous on horses because I let them do whatever they want. I dont want to make them mad at me and buck me of or something. One time this horse I was riding sumbled and fell down with me ontop! He got right back up and I was still in place...frozen in place! He kept trying to bite my feet! Scarry!

I cant wait to see you be not-nice!

Okay, I will be pointing out the undercurrent going on in the next part of this trip. It ran from the beginning to the end, but I will probably only mention it during this part.

Hey Lan, I cant wait to read your pretrip report :thumbsup2

Hi Cherokeemama  I cant' wait for your trip report and I love the pictures you took at the tea :goodvibes

Hi Gmax :wave2: Yes, horse riding is for those few that can locate the stables. :rotfl:

Hi Al and Kate's mom :wave2: I'm back. Thank you for missing me. :goodvibes

Hi Umama :wave2: Hey you should do at least one thing extra while you are there, like horses, or boats, or spa..... Treat yourself.

Hello Disney land mama  Thank you. :goodvibes

Sorry it took a few days but I managed to whack myself in the head and I have been recuperating. :confused3

Day 4 cont’d.
We had told my dh and friends that we would be back around 1:30-2:00 and we grab lunch. My friends dh, The Joker, had been pushing to go to MGM even though we had scheduled this to be a pool and rest day. He is the one who messed up the schedule from two days ago. My friend and I had gone over it so carefully to make sure we didn’t miss anything and then we set up dinner reservations. He decided that two days ago he wanted to go back to the room and not do anything. He could have stayed home and done nothing. :sad2: And, let me stress this next point. We suggested splitting up several times and us each going our own way and The Joker adamantly said no. I was totally getting bummed out at this point. :headache:

So the weary didn’t get any extra sleep travelers come back to the hotel expecting to have lunch and relax. We arrive to find that our left behind party had already had lunch convinced that we had told them too. :scratchin Hmmmm I wonder who convinced who? Or is it whom? So now we are standing there, the kids starving because we hadn’t managed breakfast with all the run around in the rush to get to the stables, and they are saying that they have all eaten and the Joker wants to go to MGM. You know it’s true about vacationing with people. If you like them, don’t test it. My friend, bless her heart, didn’t know all the friction going on between her husband and I. And that was probably a very good thing. I truly suspect from his repeated actions that he didn’t want to be on this vacation.

So, I got a little pissy for lack of a better word. Since my littlest child is allergic to horses, I had to throw my older kids in the shower and make sure to bundle off their clothes so they wouldn’t come in contact with her. I got them ready and then I hauled my patooty up and out the door and said not very nicely, “Let’s get going, we don’t have much time.” No one said a word. When I get upset, people tend to notice, since I am normally very easy going. But I had all I could take at this point. One example of what was happening under the surface would be the Night of Joy event. We had talked about going to the Night of Joy and I had purchased tickets based on us all wanting to go. I had even purchased enough tickets for all the kids to go. While we were sitting at dinner right before we were supposed to go to the park, The Joker says, “I don’t think I’m going to go tonight, I think I’ll just go back to the room.” :confused3 Everyone, myself included, just stares at him. I had remained quiet about everything up until that point. I looked him in the eye and said, “It sure would have been nice to know that before I purchased all these tickets.” To which he replied, “Fine, I’ll go.” It was as if he couldn’t believe that we would be upset about it. I told my husband later that I was ready to strangle him. This was not the first time and wouldn’t be the last time on this trip that he deliberately tried to dampen everyone’s fun. We start the trek over to MGM where I make them take the time to get us something to eat. It took precious time off our MGM run because we had ADR’s all the way back over at the Contemporary for early dinner. We ran through MGM but didn’t get to see much. We did the Narnia show, Little Mermaid, and my two girls and the Joker did Tower of Happiness. My girls said “Never again.” We saw a lot of people in lime green, but when my friend and I waved, none waved back. We didn’t see any little mickey heads either.

We then had to leave the park and head back over to our hotel where we were going to change and get ready for dinner. :moped: That didn’t happen. By the time the bus picked us up and we were headed back, we realized there would be no time to change. My friend said let’s just get off at the Contemporary and go in to make it in time for our dinner reservations. I felt bad for her because we had planned on letting her son dress up for dinner that night to do Chef Mickey’s. But she said it wasn’t that important, so we got off and went inside. Some people are just too nice. :sad2:

After dinner and lots of fun with Mickey, we left to go back to our hotel. I stopped and did laundry before bedtime because I needed to wash the horse riding clothes. I think it was therapeutic because I really needed a break. I took a Janet Evanovich book with me to the laundry room. Then it was off to sleep, and by the way, have I mentioned the turn down service in our hotel rooms? It was great. The mousekeeper made sure the stuffed animals were on the bed or tucked in whenever she would turn down the bed.

Glad to hear from you! BUT....What happened to your noggin?
As far as the Joker goes...I wish we had met a few days sooner i would have LOVED his NOJ tix. I guess it is true about vacationing with friends, huh?

BTW, I have started my TR. I am up to day 3 (well, almost). You'll have to check it out. The Hill Family's Surprise Trip

Take care of yourself. You must protect your head you know...it contains vital info. :goodvibes

I managed to knock my head into a table. :teeth: I was trying to go to the bathroom and get a drink of water and I was already a little out of it-we had some kind of stomach bug this last week-I went to grab my water bottle off the table beside my bed and managed to knock it or drop it onto the floor. When I went to reach for it, I knocked my head hard into the table. I forgot the table was there....in my defense, it had only been there for a couple of days because I was complaining that i didnt have anywhere to put my water bottle at night. :rotfl: So my mom gave me one of her tables. In my sleep fog I guess I forgot it was there. I knocked myself silly and evidently said a few choice words because I woke my husband up and he turned on the light for me. After he laughed at me, I told him "Well, I might just tell everyone you did it if you're going to laugh at me." He said, "I would just tell them you probably deserved it." Then he rolled over and went back to sleep. Such love.

I would have given you the NOJ ticket if I had met you sooner. Because my first thought was when he did that, "Who do I know that would like to go if he doesn't. "

I will go and read up on your trip report today. :goodvibes

Day 5 Today we meet Gmax
We had an early morning planned because we were going to AK. After the very crowded bus ride, most people got off at the water parks, we arrived at AK and then managed to lose my dh. We finally made it into the park after finding him, I don’t have a clue what he was doing, and headed straight for Africa.

We stopped only for pictures in front of the tree on the way in.

Cinderella gets in the picture but isn't happy.

We rode the Kilamanjarro (sp) Safari where we ended up waiting forever to get on. Since my friend and husband had rented an ECV and wheelchair, we were sent to the handicapped line and there is obviously only one bus to every 6 buses for regular passengers. Yes, I counted. When our bus finally pulled up, we got on and had a great ride. Very quiet people on this bus. No one seemed to talk at all. We got to see a few animals, it was starting to get hot so most were enjoying their cool hiding places and watching us dumb humans run around in the heat.

We headed to the Tusker house for lunch hoping to beat the lunch crowds, but evidently so had everyone else. I almost got to see a fight between two women over a table. Sometimes rude people can start to make even the sanest people come unglued. We ordered and found a table that someone was just leaving from and we squatted with all the kids and I went and helped the guys come back with the trays. A CM helped with one of the trays because I didn’t make it back quick enough. After we had sat down to eat and were nearly finished, I saw a very tall regal looking woman walk across the restaurant and out the door. I stared in shock and turned to my friend. “Was that Glendamax and her mom?” My friend said, “Well, it sure looked like her.” We had given up seeing anyone at this point. I am a shy person whether you believe it or not and I don’t usually go out of my way to start conversations. So walking up to people I don’t know is extremely hard for me. Plus the fact that I stumble for words or say something completely dumb, or forget to say what I wanted to at all. So when we saw Gmax head out the door we just sat there dumbstruck. She had a look on her face that said, “Out of my way.” I looked at my friend and said, “Do you think she saw us and is trying to escape?” My friend laughed and said, “No, I don’t think so!”

We picked up our trash and rounded everyone up to go to the bathroom and somehow Snow White and Belle managed to get outside with the guys doing the limbo. My friend saw them and went out to keep an eye on them while I was trying to find them. When I finally found my friend and saw that the girls were okay, I stood to watch the dancers. As I was backing up I heard, “Hey, I know you!” and I was warmly greeted by Glendamax and her mom. Her mom is a little shyer like me. Hi MOM! We talked and she said, “Don’t hold today against me, but I have just got to get out of this park.” So that explained the look on her face. She was on overload and needed some down time and cool air. I understood perfectly. I said, “Well just don’t hold the way we look today against us!” And she laughed and said, “Look at me.” I did. And she was just, well, beautiful. I truly envy all of you who can go to an amusement park and look so put together. It just isn’t happening for me! I didn’t know it at the time, but my friend had done the focker thing on Glendamax. Man, I don’t remember if I did or not, but I was just too excited to finally meet a fellow disser and all I could do was mumble like an idiot. And would you believe I forgot to get pictures again?
