So when we saw Gmax head out the door we just sat there dumbstruck. She had a look on her face that said, “Out of my way.” I looked at my friend and said, “Do you think she saw us and is trying to escape?” My friend laughed and said, “No, I don’t think so!”
I did NOT know that you all were in the Tusker house! While I was in there, I was actually looking around for people! I even had my backpack sitting so anyone walking by would see the Mickey!

You are the rare DISer who saw me with my hair out. Thanks to Animal Kingdom, my hair turned into Wild Kingdom! That day I wished I had a hat like Maria from Sound of Music! I was soooooo hot and miserable! After we left you, I RAN for the exit. On the way out, my Mother saw a stand with pins on it with NO SHADE and started looking at them! WHAAAAAAT?!!!!! After 15secs I told her that we/I could not do this, and we had to leave, or find some pins INSIDE!!!

After we walked through the turnstiles, I took the hotel washcloth I had in my bag, and put it on my head. That's right! I'll give you a moment to picture it! I was SOOOOOO glad when that bus came, I could've cried. It wasn't till after I was finally cooled off, that I thought back to meeting the 2 DISers in the park, and what first impression I made. All I could think was, at least I had the tea comming up to fix things!

I'm LATE again! Happy birthday! Any cake left?

Hey Gmax. Thank you. :goodvibes Plenty of birthday cake left. I missed you when I posted back to Cherokeemama. You slipped in so silently.... :teeth: Since this is a grown up party, see the bartender over there for one of those umbrella drinks...Their pretty good. ;) Did you notice this installment was about you and your mom? :thumbsup2

We are playing tag. You posted again while I was posting again. What's that about great minds thinking alike... :thumbsup2

I really hate 2am around here. They must do updates on the boards because everything shuts down for about 30 minutes. :confused3

We didn't see you until you were up and moving out the door. You were in the back room and we were closest to the dancers out front.

I would have loved to see you walking around with a washcloth on your head! :goodvibes I have probably asked if I could borrow it! :lmao: I'm sorry you felt so bad that day. Our group was all just glistening from the sweltering heat of the park. You'll see that in some of our pictures.

Isn't it funny how we worry about what everyone is going to think about us and we don't realize that they really don't care because they are too worried about what we think of them.... :rotfl: BTW, you looked great. :goodvibes

Day 5 contd
After meeting Glendamax, the day seemed like a letdown. We were so amped up over finally meeting someone. We headed out to do It’s a bugs life and then went to Camp Minnie Mickey for the Lion King show. Donald, my friends son, got to get up and dance at the LK show. So everyone had a blast. We then headed for Asia and the dreaded EE. My kids had already revved themselves up to take the ride. On the way over we stopped for some much needed ice cream. Hehehe. My favorite part of any amusement park!

Oh, it was so good and cold.

Glenda is right about this park being extremely hot!

They enjoyed every bite of this Minnie bar. I told them no chocolate Mickey because I was afraid they would get sick in the heat.

(Did you notice the difference in these pictures? These are my photopass pictures I just got in the mail. I will add the rest to the end of my report when I’m done. I even have the one of Belle touching Ariel’s tale after waiting for 6 years to do it.)

We arrived over at EE and the CM’s measured Donald to see if he could ride. When they told him he was too short to ride, he started to cry. Then after they managed to make him cry they said, “Well, it’s not working right now anyway.” WHAT? Why hadn’t they told us that before making him come over and be measured? That was just nasty.

We then headed over the Kali River Rapids and managed to get soaked, but it was okay because it started to rain right after the ride and we would have been soaked anyway. We walked over to Dinosaur in the rain and there was absolutely no line. After the ride we trekked back to the entrance where we had photopass pictures taken of all the really tired kids.

We are all wet from the KRR and rain.
pp5.jpg

Cinderella finally gets another picture, but only if sister will hold her.
pp7.jpg

We had managed to ride and see everything we had wanted to except for EE. Did you hear about the earthquake off the coast of Florida? It happened at about the same time they shut down EE. We wondered if it might have had anything to do with that. We made it to the bus and headed back to the hotel. Tonight was Belle’s turn to dress up. We arrived and everyone jumped into the shower to get the river rapids water off and get ready for Akershus.

Princess Belle heads to Akershus. We head over to Epcot and prepare for the trek into Norway. We weren’t quite sure how far Norway was, so we prepared to walk a long distance. I was happy to find it was just on the other side of Mexico. We managed to be seated fairly quickly and I was surprised. The late reservation had helped. The restaurant was not very full. The kids all had their pictures taken with Ariel and then we sat down to order our meals.

This is a picture of a picture. I can’t wait until they put these on photopass!
as3.jpg

Okay, so we got in on the picture too!
as4a.jpg

They have a cheese and meat cold bar to start off with and then you order off their menu. There was one thing on the menu I couldn’t figure out. It was the Traditional Kjottkaker. It’s pronounced- Meat Loaf. My friend and I about died when I asked what it was and she said Meat Loaf. We were joking about it and I found out later that Umama had the same thing we did. We even had some of the same jokes about it.

Well I ordered the meatloaf and the rest of the adults ordered the Cod, the Lamb, and the Salmon. The kids ordered the standard kid stuff. We got to meet the Princesses fairly quickly into the meal and were trying to eat our appetizers, get pictures and autographs at the same time. About the time we were through getting autographs and pictures, the meal arrived and we hadn’t even managed to eat our appetizers yet.

The food was different, but not so bad I couldn’t eat it. Hey, everyone has their own version of meatloaf. And I have tried many variations. So not too bad. We were sitting around joking and enjoying the silence when it was broken by one of the kids.

Hey ET - enjoying reading your trippie...have been waiting for more! Glad to hear you at least got to meet Gmax and her mom...I hope to meet other Diser's when we're there in December. So is DH - he thinks it will take some of the attention off of him! :rotfl2: Everytime he walks by me, I'm on the Disboards and he lets out this big heavy sigh and rolls his eyes...I have tried to tell him by the time we actually get to the World, his eyes are going to be stuck there - way up at the top of his head and he'll have to walk around with his chin touching his chest just so he can see where he's going! Don't you think it'd just be easier for him to convert and finally just come over to the Green Side!?!?! Anyway - I think I wished you a happy b-day before, but hope it was happy! :goodvibes

Glad you guys still had some energy to out after Animal Kingdom! I don't think I'm going to try that restaurant in Norway the next time I go. But I did hear that they had a good bakery!

Happy Birthday ET! :bday:

That's so funny about the fighting over tables at Tusker House. I swear, I see one of those every time we eat there! They really need more seating for such a yummy, popular place.

Great installments with great pics! The girls are such cuties! (Just like their Mama, of course princess: )

The only food at Akershus I didnt care for was their goat cheese. It was a salty cheese. I usually love goat cheeses.
The Meatloaf was different, but pretty good. Lots of flavor and not too dry.I know it has lamb in it too.

We had a different Ariel. Ours was really good in character and voice.

Is that your lime green Bagalliini smashing your...chest? They DO that! ;)
Did you end up going on EE? Sad for Donald...that was MEAN!

That day you were in AK, I was in MK and it WAS hot, HOT. So it's not a disney illusion AK being 20 degrees hotter than the others! :rotfl:

Has he been to Disney since you've been on the boards? That was the biggest convincer to my dh. He stopped saying anything after we arrived and I had everything planned out and knew where to go and what to do. :teeth: Thank you for the birthday wish. :goodvibes

Well did you notice that my hair is FLAT. I couldn't do anything to revive it after a day at AK. But it's still nice to have someone wait on you, bring you food, and I wasn't stuck in the room with a bunch of rowdy kids. Out of all the evils, trekking to Norway was the easiest. :teeth:

It is funny now. :rotfl: It wasn't so funny when I was standing there and thought I was going to get hit in the fallout. They were really winding up. :teeth: They definetly need more tables and preferbly where you can see the shows outside.
Thank you. :goodvibes Did you notice the "Are we done yet?" smile on Belle's face in the second picture?

I didn't even try the goat cheese. I figured it was too rich for my blood. Well I didn't know about the lamb until after I ate it and you told me.

I didn't get to interact with this Ariel, though I can't remember why. So i don't know how good she was. The kids seemed to like her. She looks alot like the one we had pictures with in MK.

Yes my bagallini was squashing me. I kept having to reposition it. My neck got sore from wearing it all week. And NO! We didn't get to ride EE. That will have to be next time. It was mean.

It was extremelly hot in AK. Glenda said she figured it was from all the trees and buildings cutting off the air and I think I agree with that. It's like a wind break. No air circulation. AK was also the only park I noticed that had fans positioned to blow on the crowd with water misters. So, they must realize it is hotter in that park. :scratchin

Unfortunately, yes...he's been there since...well, I guess some people you just can't reach! And, this is going to drive me :car: INSANE (short trip, I know!), but he keeps telling me not to plan out every minute of our vacation, etc...doesn't even want PS's for dinner every night...I think I'm going to have to make them anyway, and just happen to steer us in that direction each time...In fact I'm getting "the hairy eyeball" as I type this as I've been on the boards since about 7:30! :surfweb:

Day 5 contd

Donald, holding his fork aloft shouts across the table, “HEY GIRLS, WHO WANTS ONE OF MY BALLS?”

Dead silence. In the whole restaurant.

He proceeds to shout it again before we gain control of the situation. He is asking my girls if they want one of his spaghetti meatballs. We totally lost it after that. Anyone looking on would have thought we were drinking heavily. We laughed about that for days.

Dinner finished just in time for the guys to walk outside and watch the fireworks while the girls stayed inside and talked. When the guys returned, we all got ready to walk back to the front of the park. Have you ever been in Epcot late at night when there’s almost nobody there? We saw maybe two other people while we were walking back to the front. It was so pretty and peaceful.

We walked up to the monorail and were standing there waiting for it to arrive when the girls saw the man that had driven the monorail when they rode up front. They walked over to him and Snow White says, “Hello. Do you remember us?” He looks at my middle daughter who is dressed as Belle and says, “Well, it rings a bell.” The kids got such a kick out of this. They thought it was so funny. Even my littlest one was laughing. :rotfl: He was a very nice CM. :thumbsup2

We loved talking to the people we met on the monorail. I haven’t mentioned this before, but we met a lot of really nice people coming and going. If any of you met us, Hello! It was nice to meet you. On the way back to the hotel, a couple of us decided we would go to the evening EMH’s. In fact my dh was probably one of the only ones that didn’t decide to go. We walked into the park and headed straight for Tommorrowland where we could ride Stitch and Buzz. I don’t know what to say about Stitch. That smell, it was horrible. Buzz was pretty fun and we will definetly do that again. We then rode the teacups again for the 5th time on this trip. One of our all time family favorite rides. Then we rode the carousel. After this we decided to go back to our hotel because we had an important lunch the next day. :thumbsup2

I'm sorry. :guilty: My dh asked for more of-downtime at the hotel for our next trip. Have you thought about a PS for bkfast or lunch on some days. You still get to try the restaurant with all the benefits, but don't look like you had it all planned out. ;) Then all day is come and go as you want. I like your idea of steering him in the right direction. Maybe make a few PS at night in places you know you'll already be. It will look so spontaneous.... :thumbsup2

I have had really good luck with restaurants at lunch because most people are booking for dinner. I get better character interaction and/or service. :)
