Etiquette question re renting points

If I contact an owner to inquire about renting points and don't hear back, how long should I wait for a response before contacting someone else? I'm sure the owner was bombarded with requests and was unable to get back to all of them. I just don't want to tick anyone off. Thanks.

If you aren't currently actually working with a member (they are in the process of checking availability for you) you have no obligation to wait around until they get back to you. You should continue seeking a member to work with. The member you are waiting to hear back from may have already rented their points and may not contact you.

I think this is sound advice. If the owner had checked availability and was holding a reservation for you, that would be different. But you don't owe them any special courtesy at this point.

After all, all you did was inquire whether they wanted to do business...and they haven't responded.

Don't hold that against the owner, though. There may be a number of legitimate reasons why they didn't get back to you promptly. But you certainly have no obligation to them at this point, so I'd look around and see what else is available.

I would contact a few people and see who responds that they have a cretain amount of points you need at the price that is right for you. If more than one emails you back then tell the others that you are not using, that you found what you needed already and thank you for getting back to you. No burnt bridges incase you might want to get points from them in the future.
