Ethernet Cable

Ok Disers, Looking to bring my laptop on vacation. Can someone tell me if there is an ethernet cable in the rooms at SSR, or do you have to bring your own?

There is supposed to be one- it is usually between 4-6 feet long.

There was not one at the Kidani in June this year. I always bring my own when I travel.

There usually is one. We have always had one. If there is not one, just call the front desk and ask for one.

Just repeating that the provided cable is SHORT! And the location of the jack may not be where you prefer to work.

So consider bringing either a longer cable or a travel size wireless router if your laptop will work that way.

I keep a travel bag of computer stuff for our DVC stays.

I have several cables, an older router, and a power stick. We have three laptops, so, if we all want to be on, then we got it covered.

Another little hint...ask to go through the Lost and Found. Ethernet cords and cell phone charger can be located. Plus saves you having to go out and buy a replacement.

There's a cable.

Grey bag, hanging in one of the closets. It's in there.

If there isn't one (or you can't find one), call housekeeping/maintenance. They'll bring you one.

Will there be two locations to plug the cable in, or just one? And if there are two, will there be two cables?

Get a cheap WIFI router. That will solve your problem.

Will there be two locations to plug the cable in, or just one? And if there are two, will there be two cables?

If Kidani is set up like the other DVC resorts, there will be one jack and one cable in the dedicated two bedrooms.

I was in one, last September.

1 Jack (in the Master Bedroom) and 1 cable in the dedicated 2BR's.

You could pick up a cheap "travel router" and set up a wireless network pretty easily. That's what we did (though we already had the router).
