"Gary Coleman has been hospitalized in Utah and is in critical condition after injuring his head as the result of a fall. ABC News is reporting that Coleman "has slipped into a coma" and is currently on life support. Coleman suffered an intracranial hemorrhage according to the ABC report, and remains unconscious from the injury."

Not a fan, but I think he has had a pretty rough adulthood.

Has this guy done ANYTHING since Different Strokes? That was like 35 years ago, right? Too much hype on a washed up child actor IMO.....

He's done lots of things since being an actor on Different Strokes, just not as an actor. Nothing wrong with that.
I've read that he's had lots of health problems this year, so I'm not surprised. Hopefully he'll pull through this, but it's not sounding good.

I don't watch much television, so maybe he has done something in the past 35 years. I personally just haven't seen or heard about it.

I completely understand what you're saying. I hope that Gary gets better and I would never wish ill upon anyone. That being said they were talking about it on the radio this morning like he's been relevant for the last 20 years, or like losing him would leave some hole in Hollywood!

Of course given the current news cycle, I was growing a bit tired of Jesse James, Lindsay Lohan, and the finger pointing between BP & the White House, so hearing about Gary Coleman hasn't been all bad.

I also don't get why people need to hype this up. While I am sorry that he is hurt, I don't see the need for new clips, postings etc about a child actor from 20+ years ago

Washed up or not, this is tragic and I hope he recovers.

A couple of days ago it made the news that his costar Dana Plato's son committed suicide.

It seems any faint connection to Hollywood makes the news.

Gary Coleman seems to be a poster child for what happens to child actors as adults.

The only things I've heard about him since Diff'rent Strokes is that he tried to break into rapping that he was on a reality show. He really wasn't successful in show business after he grew up. I know his parents stole the majority of his money, that he had two kidney transplants, was divorced several times and that he had a rough life. I feel sorry for him and I hope he makes it through this.

It depends on how tall the thing he was standing/climbing on was, just like with anyone else.

Poor guy. It's a shame when something like this happens to almost anyone, whether they're especially newsworthy or not. I hope he will recover.

I think because he'll always be known to a lot of people as the really cute "whatchutalkinboutWillis' kid. Many of us grew up with that show. It's sentimental.

While I get you are making a "joke" about his height, whether a fall is from a short or long distance is not always a factor. My child slipped and fell from a standing position on concrete (when she was shorter than Gary Coleman) and received a bad head injury. For 4 days afterward I wasn't sure if she would recover or not. We were very lucky she did not suffer permanent brain damage.

I had not seen anything about Gary Coleman for sometime. Then about 2 or 3months ago I saw him on that show "THE INSIDER" with Lara Spencer. It is a celebrity news show on every evening. They invited him on to be a guest host ... well things spiraled out of control when the other hosts asked him some questions about his past and him hitting his wife ... well Gary just started screaming at all of him and abruptly left the show while it was taping and stormed out of there screaming "get me my car", "I am going home" ... yikes, I was pretty shocked by his behavior on national tv for all to watch and witness.

He obviously has some anger issues. Possibly depression as well.

I hope he gets the medical help he needs for his issues and his accident.
