Hi folks. We've not been since 2008, (we were still filling in the green slips on the flight then) so wonder what happens with ESTA? We've done the necessary online, and had confirmation of acceptance. Is that it? I presume the software will tie in our passport numbers with the ESTA system at the port of entry?

Mike:)

That's it :D Once you're accepted you're allowed entry to the US for two years. :D

That's not entirely correct.

Being accepted through ESTA basically means that you are allowed to travel to the US

The immigration officer at your point of entry will be the one and only to decide if you're allowed in or not.

ESTA is only the replacement for the I94-W form (the green slip) we used to fill in on the planes. But being accepted through ESTA does not guarantee entry.

i guess that's a common misconception.

You'll still need to fill the customs form (white slip) on the plane (don't forget to pack a pen, lol, we forgot on our last trip) and always use black or blue ink, or you'll be sent back to the end of the line with a harsh lecture by the immigration officer when you get your passports checked.

That's what I meant. The OP's question was 'is that it'?

The answer is yes that's it, there's nothing more you need to do :D

It was great when we went last year not having those green forms to fill out. I posted on another thread saying that it always worried me that I had filled it in wrong.
