esta

So basically nothing has changed, YET !!! except you have to fill out more forms :confused3

I hate beyond belief those blinking forms you have to fill in at Immigration, with 4 young children that excited to be at Disney they need pulling down from the ceiling every 30 seconds, I thought "great" straight through immigration this visit without the form filling.

I cant understand why Virgin would nt hand them out during the flight last October, is this the same now with all airlines?

When we used to be able to fill them out during the flight it was no bother really !!!

Virign were handing them out at check in and on the flight in February as they advise filling in before you land, perhaps they had run out!

Claire ;)

Virgin have always hand them out at check in for our trips. They only carry limited amounts onboard so have known them to run out but never once had to fill in on arrival with any airline.

Just my luck then I think Wayne :headache:

We always fly PE as well so if they had ran out, they must have had very little on board to start with.

Hopefully they will be fully stocked up this coming October !!!!

Hope they are not needed by then.
Last year I filled in 20 green and white forms. Cant wait for ESTA to be fully working.
If still needed ask at checkin if they don't offer you any.

I actually preferred filling in those forms prior to the flight as quite often I was knocked whilst filling them in on the plane and had to start again. Virgin has been the only company I have been with who give you the forms prior to flying, the other companies I have been with gave them out on the plane.

I did read somewhere that the two systems were going to be in operation for the first 6 months so I am hoping it will just be ESTA when I go in July.

I used to fill in all our visa waiver forms till one year an immigration officer spotted they all have the same handwriting and was quite snotty about it, scared the living daylights out of me. Everyone had signed the forms themselves though.

I always do any form in our house, for flights or anything in the home. DW has no idea who we are insured with, who we bank with. Never thought about it, I just fill it in, she signs.

I have made them do the forms since then but we have always had really nice immigration officers on the following holidays, thankfully.

Sorry, me again :flower3:

:confused3 Does anybody know if as DH has an American Visa he is except from needing to fill out an ESTA application.

To me I would think he is except.

Yeah if he has a Visa, he is definitely exempt. The ESTA is for visa waiver applicants only :)

Does anybody know when this is checked?

ie I have filled out ESTA applications for myself and our children, but as DH has an American Visa who will check this Virgin Checkin or Immigration in the US:confused3

I'm paranoid that I do it wrong and he gets turned away or something in the US:scared1:

From what people have said who have been since ESTA has been introduced, when you go through Immigration it shows up on their computer screen that you have filled it and got approval.

If you are still required to fill in the green visa waiver forms these are handed in at Immigration.

The first time anyone will ask to see your husband's visa is when he goes through Immigration.

God bless having a Visa is all I can say hehe.
My mate has to do his ESTA which we will once we have sorted out our accomodation then we can do the API's.

Hopefully by Oct all the issues will be sorted out and it will just be the ESTA, API and white form.
