ESTA - updating for subsequent visits

Just a quick note as I read on here that some people had problems when trying to update the ESTA for a subsequent visit with different hotel address. I decided not to try and update ours and we were let in fine no issues at all.

We go again in 6 weeks, haven't decided if I will try update ours yet. Might see what experiences people are having nearer the time.

We changed our hotel after we had our ESTA & DH was going to amend it this weekend. I thought it would be simple, is it a problem? Are we not required to give the correct hotel?

Its your choice if you update your hotel it is not a requirement. Words here taken from ESTA fact sheet.

Applicants may also update their destination
addresses or itineraries should they change after their ESTA
has been approved, although this will not be required.

Yeah, you have to supply API in any case prior to flying so I don't think I will bother, probably stress me out too much if there are problems.
