Actually, it's 2/25 - 2/27. It's over at MGM. We're planning on going. DH is a real sports nut and we're looking forward to it. :D

Thanks for responding Regina.

Do you find this increases crowds everywhere or just MGM?

What happens at ESPN weekend exactly?

TIA!
Mel

I'll be there aswell :) Going to MGM my first time & going for this. Going to Universal twice too. Not too sure what exactly happens, but this is what the website says, www.espntheweekend.com

I rarely watch ESPN, but I watched the Figure Skating US Championships on Sunday and in a 2 hour time frame I saw the ESPN Disney Weekend commercial at least 5 times. I find it interesting that the events are all at MGM because the commercials were set in the Magic Kingdom. I have no idea how effective these ads will be, but I am sure they are reaching thousands of people daily so there is a chance it could affect attendance at the parks.

Just so you know this http://www.keynotearts.com/05_singabration.asp is going on during that weekend, too.

I don't know, but I am thinking it's gonna be packed that weekend. :(

This is the schedule for the Singabration... I guess we'll be at Animal Kingdom all weekend...

DAY ONE (24th)
• Check in at Disney's All Star Music Resort
• Dinner at Epcot
• Opening Ceremony and Rehearsal
• Enjoy Illuminations: Reflections of Earth

DAY TWO (25th)
• Guest Artist Presentation and Clinic
• Rehearsal
• Lunch on your own in Epcot
• Rehearsal
• Free Time to enjoy Walt Disney World

DAY THREE (26th)
• Early morning on-stage rehearsal and blocking at Cinderella Castle
• Breakfast at The Fort
• Service Project and Group Photos at The Fort
• Parade Blocking
• America Sings! Performance at Cinderella Castle
• Lunch on your own in the Magic Kingdom
• Parade step off - Sing and dance down Main Street USA!
• Free time at the Walt Disney World Resort

We're arriving 2/6 and we will see you at the Animal Kingdom! I knew about ESPN weekend but not the Singing thing. Fortunately, my DS wants to go to the Animal Kingdom anyway. We may check out MGM and go to the Boardwalk if MGM is too crowded. Definitely no MK!!

Thanks for the heads up.

I was EASILY able to book rooms at two resorts for that weekend just last week. Old Key West and Dixie Landings. FWIW

Oh, and I also got every preferred seating I wanted too.
