IS it really going to make a huge dent to DS in Mar 08 for ESPN. We plan on spending part of a day on Saturday or Sun that weekend. Anyone been who can give insight into crowd levels that weekend.

I went on a Saturday last year. The crowd level seemed fine to me. I only went on one regular park attraction, and it was pretty empty. The ESPN events I did had a decent amount of people, but not enough that it seemed really crowded. I was there for a specific athlete, and I was able to get in the front row for both of her events. Another ESPN event they said would probably fill up before start time, so we waited in line for a while, but it didn't fill up completely even once it started. I had a great time (I'm a huge sports fan), and I'm hoping to attend one day next year as well.

so i should have no problem with attractions while events go on? I am not "into" the ESPN events, just want to make sure that it won't make for a busier then normal day!

No - you won't have any problem at all. We went this year for the first time and really enjoyed it. Everything was manageable. A warning though for MGM. When there are Q & A sessions at the Scorcerer's Hat, the athletics get there on a small motorcade. The cars start at the main entrance and go up to the Hat and drop off the athletics. So whenever there is a Q & A session, the main street will be blocked off and peple will line both sides of the street. It doesn't last long (5-10 minutes). So if you get stuck in it, just be patient because it will soon go away.

On the good side, each athletic is in the car (convertible so they sit up on the back seat) with a Disney character so you can get some photo ops. During these sessions, the area around the hat will be mobbed so use the sides to get around. But even that is manageable.

If you do nothing else for the weekend, go to the area to the right of the Rock N Roller Coaster entrance. There will be interactive sporting things back there. Even if you aren't into sports, go there anyway. You will see Twilight Zone from a very different angle.

I am taking my 2 sons for the ESPN weekend- this will be a treat for them!!
