I've always wanted to go to Disney for ESPN the weekend, and I just read that my favorite player in any sport is gonna be there this year :sad1: problem is we just went in Augaust so I don't think it would be cost efficiant to go in a month, especially on such short notice. So my questions are 1. For anyone who has been during ESPN the weekend, do the players sign autographs and interact with fans and stuff like that? and 2. Is there anyway to go to Disney for just maybe a 3-day weekend for a good price?

*keeps dreaming*

How many of you are there? Where do you want to stay? On-site, off-site? What about food? Anyone very picky?

Can you give us some more hints and then we can work away on it.

Yes, the players do interact with the guests. One of my closest friends went last year and her DH and DS  talking with and seeing the players.

Consider me as un-picky as possible, 3 adults (just me and my parents) and on-site probably at All-Star or Pop as cheap as possible.

Regular price for a standard room during this time is $139/ night at a value resort. If you go with off-site, you could probably go for a little cheaper, but then you would have to pay parking. There are many to choose from.

Tickets will be about $75/ day each person. You can eat pretty cheaply if you do mostly counter service. I would say approx $100-$120 a day for counter service and a snack or two.

I hope this helps. Have a great time!!!!

We are going from 2/28 - 3/2 for ESPN the Weekend...we are staying at ASSp for 3 nights, with the dining plan & 4 day tickets...we booked when the free upgrade to park hoppers and water park and more was going on for 3 adults (oldest DD is considered an adult) and 1 child it is $1,600 for us. We just went in June for both DD's birthdays and now we are going for mine & DH's birthdays...mine is 2/29 & his is 3/1.

I hope it works out where you can go!!

i think you might have a hard time finding a value room at this point. We tried doing rescheduling for Feb back in early Dec and was told almost all of Feb was booked! :scared1:

We went to ESPN the Weekend last year. My husbadn is a HUGE sports collector (2 million cards and I won't even go into the footballs, baseballs, bat, jerseys, etc we have in the house). We enjoyed the weekend but your chances of getting a player's autograph are not very good. You will see that some people have done that. We even had a friend who is more money minded
(and will shove his mother out of the way for an autograph) go down at the same time (but not with us) and he got nothing.

Who is your favorite player? You can PM me and I cna see if there's any way my husband his friend can hook you up with an autograph. To the mods - this doesn't involve money in any way. Just a chance to help out a fellow Disney person. No guarantees of any kind.

You might look at the hotels in the Downtown Disney area. They offer bus transportation to the parks. While we would not do it again, we stayed at the Grovsner for one night and it was $49 a night. (That was in August.)

I wonder if Clemens will show up?

He bowed out of the Bob Hope Desert Classic, which starts today. He's on a PR offensive at the moment and if that goes well, I would expect he'd attend as the first chapter of his 'rehabilitation'.

Sorry I just read all these posts, but yea I doubt I'm going to be able to make it at this point, Maurice Jones-Drew is my favorite player

Sorry you can't go to the weekend. However, if you want to PM me with your address, my husband will send you all of his Jones-Drew cards he has here. Small consolation, I know.
