ESPN Skybox

We are sailing on our first cruise - the Dec 27 Eastern. Boy are we excited!!! Today, as I yearn for college football & anticipating that my Alma Mater (Auburn University) is expected to have our best team in many years - I began to think about what do I do if we are in a New Years Day bowl game & there I am, at sea on the Magic (having a great time, mind you) but unable to watch my team). Will ESPN Skybox (or some suitable alternative) be there for me - can I watch it my cabin, or do I settle for a taped version when I get home? Of course, I could be the eternal optomist & believe that we will be playing for the National Championship - in which case we will be home & I can watch in the comforts of my family room. Please someone ease my trouble mind!!!

The ESPN SkyBox will no longer exist on the Magic after it's drydock in late September/early October. It will be converted into the new teen club. What is now "Off Beat," the dueling pianos bar, will be transformed into a kind of neighborhood sports bar. This will be your best bet to watch the Tigers.

Whether you'll actually get to see them depends on a few things. Mainly which network they'll be on and which bowl game they'll be in. If the game is on ABC or ESPN, you'll most likely get to see it, maybe even in your room. DCL has had problems in the past getting licensing for programming from other networks, but have shown events such as the Super Bowl (when we were on board in Oct. 2000, they could not show NBC's broadcast of the Olympics in Sydney). If Auburn is in a New Year's Day Bowl on another network, you may still be able to watch, if they purchase the feed from that network. I'm not sure if they do this for the major Bowl games. Someone who's been on board on New Year's Day may be able to help with this one.

The bars by the pool will change the channel if you request. We had no problem watching our beloved Saints (I know, I know)!
