We are getting into MCO at 6:15pm and We wanted to check in at POR then head over to the ESPN Club for a late dinner/snack. wondering how to get there in the most timley fashion without taking a cab?? TIA

Your only option at that time might be to bus to DTD and then transfer to BW bus, figure about 60-90 min for the trip each way.

Based on you sig, if it happens to be the night of the 26th or 28th, you could bus to DHS and then either walk or boat to BW. figure at least 60 min. each way

Travel times always depend on how often the buses are running.

DHS closes at 10pm on the 26th and 11pm on the 28th, all other nights it's 8pm.

Enjoy ESPN Club

FWIW A cab would be approx $10-$12 incl tip and take 5-10 min

Really I didn't expect a cab to be that inexpesive. That just might be worth the extra expence.

I was wondering if a bus to Epcot would be workable too.... We don't have a park ticket that day wasn't sure if there was away of getting to the back side without entering the park?

Unfortunately the POR bus to Epcot would drop you at the main gate and you would have to go through the park (using a ticket) to get to BW and ESPN.

As the PP noted, bus to DHS, then boat or walk to BW/ESPN is your best bet using Disney transport and obviously that only works if DHS is open. If DHS is closed, DTD (or another park, but MK or AK would take you way out of the way) is your other option as a transfer point.

Going to ESPN from POR

1. Cab ride; quickest and easiest.
2. Take bus to DHS and then boat over to the loop; you don't have to enter the park.
3. Take bus to any park and then transfer to the BW bus.
4. Take the water taxi to DTD and then go to the transfer station and take BW bus.

Going from ESPN to POR

1. Cab ride; quickest.
2. If before DHS closes, second best choice, you don't have to enter a park.
3. Go up to the BW buses and take the first bus back to a park and transfer to a POR bus.
4. Same as above, but take the DTD bus and go to the transfer station, then take the water taxi back until 11:00 pm.
5. If after 11:00 pm, take the DTD bus back to POR.

Do it all the time!

Thanks so much. I knew the boards would have a solution. I think the cab there is a great plan as I'm sure to be tired and hungry. I like the idea of a boat ride back from downtown and night on the water should be quiet nice :) Thanks

Keep in mind a could be a bit chilly late at night, maybe low 50s. Dress warmly if taking the boat.
Also check which location the boat to POR leaves from, so that you get off the bus at the appropriate bus stop. Otherwise it could be a bit of a walk.

Two options that we use all the time when we are there...

1. cab it. its about $13 total one way

2. boat to DTD then bus to BW.....THEN...walk to MGM (old timer here, will always be MGM) and get bus back to POR.

We usually take the boat trip to get to DTD and then bus to BW...but going back after dinner and being full of food and beer...the cab is the best $13 you will spend.

What do you mean by this? Is there more than one dock at DTD?

Looked it up on a map answered my own question :)

I see two dock one at each end

ok looking at the map I figure if we want to boat back to POR we want to board at the west side dock. How often are the boats running?

There is actually 3, one near HOB, one at PI and one near Rainforest Cafe, i'm not sure if only one is used or the boat stops at all of them. Perhaps someone else will know for sure.

The boat drops you off right at the base of RFC.

The Transfer station is about a couple hundred yards behind it. You can almost see it from RFC, so you won't get lost.

The boat from POR only stops at RFC.

The boats from SSR and OKW stop at HOB, I believe.

The PO boat docks at the Marketplace, between Rainforest & Cap'n Jack's.

The Vacation Club ferries dock at PI, not HOB.

The only boat at HOB is the water taxi that shuttles amongst the 3 docks.

Do you know what the reason why the different boats don't go to all 3 docks.

So if you are coming from OKW and are trying to get to Rainforest, you would have to get off at PI and then either walk (it's a pretty long walk) or wait for a water taxi to take you to the Rainforest.
Why not have each boat stop at all three docks, DVC going clockwise and PO going counter clockwise and eliminate the water taxi.

Right, last week staying at THV we were shuttled to the middle dock, then changed boats to go to HOB.
