Escape to Neverland - A new Tagliarchy adventure!!

Shana tova to you & yours.;)

BB WDW buses go to DTD and back until midnight so anything DTD is good.. but check at the food court it may still be open,,

Happy New Year to those celebrating tonight!

BlueBayou

--- don't worry. Most foodcourts have food available until 11pm (limited selections after 10pm). We will have our car in case you need help (24hour MC Donald's across from Sports).
The DTD boats might not run after 10pm so buses are available until late.

We got a new car (well to us) the other day. The old car was starting to breakdown (just under 99,000 miles) so we were able to get a reasonable deal on a certified used car. The new car has some neat features like the front seats can be cooled or heated, OnStar (perfect for our road trips), nice stereo system, and other features to be discovered.

Happy New Year my freinds. It's not starting out that great for me. Well, this morning did, but around lunch time...
So this morning I got up, took Ian to school, and hung out until it was time to work with his class in their garden. We were supposed to plant seeds for fruits and veggies, but maintenance never came around to turn the soil. So instead we just had fun pulling weeds and checking out all the cool bugs we found. The father that was there helping even caught a couple crickets and fed them to Max, the class pet iguana.

I came home and relieved OF from parent duty - Sophia didn't have school today because of Rosh Hashanah. Anyway, Sophia and I were playing around and then boom, her head landed smack on my nose. I felt something pop. There wasn't much blood, but the pain has been steadily increasing all afternoon. The tip of my nose is tingly and I won't even touch the bridge area - OUCH! It's all swollen, too. OF called an ENT friend of the family who said to put a cold compress on it for a couple hours and come see him Monday afternoon. OY!!!

So, there's been a lot of drama over on the scrapbooking forum for the last couple days. New moderators came in and shut down threads with links to wonderful Disney related and Disney inspired digital scrapbooking products. At least one person got banned for life - a wonderful designer of great Disney-ish kits - and most of the digi scrappers have left the DIS. I understand the moderators point of view but the whole situation was handled so badly and lots of uninvolved DISers were "punished" as well. But then, that's the way it goes around here - act irrationally, then find out the facts and try to negotiate/smooth things over. It's really sad, but this isn't the first time and I'm sure it won't be the last. Oh well. (Thanks for listening to my rant. I'm done now.)

I'm off to ice my nose some more before giving the kids a bath and heading over to the ILs for Rosh Hashanah dinner.

Yikes - I hope it gets better quickly. Do you have two black eyes to go with it?

Good morning everyone,

Happy New Year to all those who celebrated yesterday, I hope you all had a nice day.

RRBB Ouch!! I hope your nose heals quickly.

Slo I have quite a few Avon products, the factory is just down the road from my house and a few of my friends work there. A few others I know sell stuff too, they have some really nice products.

NCBelle Congratulations on the new car!!

Well we are truly back into the school year now. Things at my school are going quite well in some ways, but not in others. Our deputy head is going to be absent for a long time (until well after Christmas) and we know she will be missing for our next, and most important inspection. She is seriously ill in hospital so we are all praying for her at the moment. So at work myself and another 2 teachers are dividing up her job between us.

I guess I should go, yesterday Pete and I had our induction at the new gym that has opened in the new international swimming pool in our town. It is really nice, the pool is lovely and the gym is state of the art. And because it is run by the local council it is very cheap to use. All children and retired people get to swim for free which is nice. So I'm off to the gym for a bit.

Have a great day everyone.

I don't think I mentioned that Stephanie and Kevin are in Florida having some nice daddy/daughter time:goodvibes So that leaves just me and Katie here, which has been really nice!!!:goodvibes I haven't had much alone time with Katie, because Stephanie is always here, so this has been nice for us:goodvibes

With 2 members of the family gone, I've gotten ALOT of house cleaning done. I've cleaned all weekend - I mean REALLY cleaned!!! It feels so good to have it all done, but sad that I know I will have to do it again soon. The house gets really neglected in the summer months, because we are outside alot, but I do clean alot in the winter:thumbsup2

Kevin and Stephanie come home tomorrow night. They are having a good time, but I can tell they really miss us - I think they feel incomplete without us there. This is so good for them though, and Stephanie will never forget it :goodvibes

RRBB - How is your nose today? I hope it feels better real soon!!!:wizard::wizard:

To everyone else - :wave2:

I gotta run and get Katie up for school - I'm doing a little to much posting, and to little getting going

Have a good day!!!

Nose update: there's nothing new at the moment. I'm supposed to go see the doctor this afternoon, but no one is answering the phone to actually set up a time to go. It's not hurting so much right now, but under my eyes are kind of swollen as well as the bridge of my nose. Yesterday during Rosh Hashanah services the whole right side of my faca and around to the back of my head felt all tingly, kind of like your face feels when novicane wears off after dental work.

Slo, wanna come clean my house next? I feel like I'm such a bad house keeper, lots of clutter. But it's clean clutter. :rotfl: (The maid is here right now, and since I straighten up before she comes it can't be that bad around here.)

NCBelle, congrats on the "new" car. Enjoy it! What kind is it? Ian still loves cars and is always interested in what everyone drives.

Oh, and we did it... we booked on the PC cruise this morning. Yup, we're going back through the Panama Canal - only the other direction this time. The way I see it, with DCL repositioning the Wonder to its new home on the west coast there likely won't be anymore PC cruises with them for quite a while. And taking the kids out of school for 2+ weeks gets harder the older they are. But Ian will only be in kindergarten so we shouldn't get too much flack. The kids are going to be so excited when we tell them we're going on the Mickey Mouse ship again, but disappointed that we're not going NOW! At least we have the WDW trip for them to look forward to in the near future. Sophia was even talking about meeting the princesses this morning while watching the Princess Tea Party dvd on the way to school.

Evening all,

RRBB I hope your nose feels better soon. Congratulations on booking the cruise, we should hopefully be deciding on the definate dates for our next WDW trip soon. We can't book it until the end of January though. Our friends are going to New Zealand in a few weeks time so we will chat to them about it when they get back. We think we might book a couple of nights at Universal before going to WDW. We want to see the new Harry Potter bit and it will save our friends some DVC points (which should save quite a few for a 2 bedroomed villa during Christmas week!)

Slo My house is open for cleaning too if you want! I have actually given up cleaning 2 rooms at the minute. Since our theatre company had to move out of the theatre (it is being knocked down as we speak) we have lots of speakers, keyboards, amps and general sound and lighting equipment stored at our house until we get the keys to our new temporary rehearsal space (which fingers crossed will be next week.)

Well today I started my new healthy lifestyle. I have been to an excercise class at the gym I joined and I booked again for a class on Wednesday. Then I will go to the gym 2 days as well. So I guess I better go and get a shower!!

Hi HO

RRBB - what did the DR say abot your nose??? Congrats on booking the PC cruise.. I do wish I could go but That is Eric's senior year so no taking him out of school or leaving him alone..

DanaUK. YEAH on the healthy lifestyle.., keep up the good work..

SLO-- You can clean my house too...

Well worked at Meals on Wheels today and then off to do some banking..

I got the Alaska Cruise 8/30 that I wanted but can't get into the DU website to see how much..

ibouncetoo, are my eyes deceiving me or are you on the 1/6/2011 cruise through the Panama Canal!!!

:worship: Slo--- I wish I had your cleaning skills/motivation.

:cheer2:Danauk-- congrats on the new healthy lifestyle!

 RRBB-- I hope that you are feeling better.
Our car is a dark chocolate '09 Chevy Impala LTZ. It has a lot of bells and whistles in it---moon roof, Bose stereo system, lot of safety features, heating/cooling front seats control, and remote control to start the car (great for de-icing when winter comes/cool down the interior in summer). The dealership is doing detail work on it on Friday (NC B. couldn't wait last week for it with his schedule).

Let me tell you how stressed I was driving to the airport last night to get Kevin and Stephanie :headache:
I wanted to get off at Cicero (airport exit), but I didn't realize that I had to be on the other side of the concrete median (construction). My GPS is telling me to get off, but I can't get over, because of the dang median. So, I miss my exit, and the GPS recalculates and tells me to go another 6 miles:headache: As I'm driving, I notice there are no breaks in the concrete median, so I miss that exit too:headache: Now the GPS is telling me to go another 8 miles:eek: I'm driving and driving and thinking how I'm never going to get to the airport. Finally the median ends, and now I'm desperatly looking for an exit. Finally, I end up past the big UPS place (Chicago peeps know this place), and the GPS tells me to get off, and that expressway took me to the airport - thank God!!! My anxiety level was sky high (getting lost or driving in unfamiliar places really makes me nervous), and Kevin drove home. I got a few more grey hairs last night

It's nice to have Kevin and Stephanie home :goodvibes and they are glad to be home:goodvibes Our house is like Finding Nemo now - they brought home a crab from The Gulf of Mexico, and put it in our salt water aquarium. Everytime I look at him, I see a sad Nemo. I hope his family isn't frantically looking for him:upsidedow

RRBB - How is your nose feeling? Did you get to the doctor? I hope it's starting to do better:wizard:
*Congrats on booking your cruise :)

Danauk - Good luck with keeping up with your program:). I was doing so awesome last year, but then winter came, the stress with Kevin being unemployeed came, and the weight started to pile on. I take great comfort in food, so when the stress starts, the eating starts. I need to get back into what I was doing last year, but my hearts just not in it right now. Keep us posted on how your program is working for you.

geffric - Congrats on booking your cruise :)

Belle - :wave2:

I'm not looking forward to waking up Stephanie this morning, because she was already begging me to stay home last night because she was so tired. She will be crabby today ::yes::

Have a good day!!!

Hi everyone.

I hope all is well. I am feeling very guilty about planning my trip.

One of my close friends has not been feeling well and they have been running a bunch of tests. She called yesterday with some frightening news she just received. It is not confirmed yet - but they now are pretty sure it is lymphoma. Ironically, that is the cancer my FIL is undergoing treatment for right now. So I have heard a lot about it in recent months. So I know that depending on the type - it is very treatable.

We have been friends for nearly 30 years - and I was at a loss for what to say. I don't think there was a 'right' thing to say but I am pretty sure there are a lot of 'wrong' things. I guess I worry that I didn't offer the needed comfort.

Evening all,

Slo Glad you made it to the airport OK. I hate it when they GPS gets stroppy with you and starts to nag!! I know what you mean about it being easy to gain weight when things get stressed, I do that too. Only I let it carry on for 3 years and gained a lot of weight. But I have decided not to let work get to me this year and to do something about it (very tricky as the stress is mounting up big style at the moment at work.) But I am going to another class with my friend this evening. On Monday we have persuaded 4 more friends from work to join us too!!

BlueBayou I am sorry to hear about your friend.

Everyone else Hi!!

Right I better run, my aerobics class starts in 25 minutes so I better get to the gym!!

This is my least favorite day of the week.
It's not to bad now, but it's always bad at night, because Stephanie has multiple tests on Fridays. I wish she could just study on her own, but she needs me to keep her on track. Keeping her on track though, means alot of frustration for me, because she doesn't want to study at all. I'm hoping it gets easier as the year progresses:rolleyes:.

BB - I am so sorry to hear about your friend
I will keep her in my thoughts and prayers, and please keep us posted on how she is doing.

Danauk - Strength in numbers!!!! I'm glad you have friends to join you with this - that will help keep you all on track:thumbsup2

It's time to get this day started - have a good day!!

WooHoo!!!! It's Friday!!!!!:yay::woohoo:
I always love the fact that I don't have to rush the kids out the door the next couple of days.:)

Well, it's time to wake up Katie and see how she's doing.
She's developed a croopy cough, that I'm getting a little nervous about. She had the same thing last spring, that when I took her to the doctor, the doctor said she would have had pneumonia by the end of the weekend:eek: I put her in a steam shower last night for about 20 minutes (it got so steamy in there, that I thought the wallpaper was going to come down:laughing:) and gave her some Mucinex, and had her use the inhaler she had to use last Spring. If she's not any better this morning, than we'll have to make a trip to the doctor today - bummer!!!!! :guilty:

Have a good day everyone!!!

Yay, it's Friday!!

I am so glad it is the weekend, but this weekend is going to be quite busy for us. Tomorrow we are driving down south for the day to visit my SIL, BIL and nephew. Then on Sunday afternoon we are going to Birmingham for the afternoon, have dinner out by the river and then to see Andrea Bocelli (the tenor opera singer) in concert. We are going with my friend from work and her husband so that should be fun. The only down side is that as I have a hectic weekend planned I need to do all the school work I should be doing on Sunday this evening (which means I will be working late and I am tired already!!)

Slo I hope Katie feels better today. I remember last year when she was poorly, I hope that doesn't happen again.

HI KIDS! Sorry I haven't checked in since I've been back, but it's been crazy at work and I was also house sitting for Peg till last night. I was SO happy to sleep in my own bed last night....so happy I overslept till 8AM (the time I should be leaving the house for work). :scared1:

but if we are all still ready to go - I thought we could go to Downtown Disney. They will still be serving dinner at 9pm-9:30pm right? Any suggestions on where to eat - we will be on the Dining Plan.

As NC Belle said, Earl of Sandwich and Wolfgang Puck Express are both good (use WPE if you are super hungery, you get more for your CS credit there).

ibouncetoo, are my eyes deceiving me or are you on the 1/6/2011 cruise through the Panama Canal!!!

Yes, I've booked. My (ex) sister-in-law and I will decide if we'd rather do it than the '10 WBTA. It would have been no contest if the $$ wasn't so different. It's about $800 PER PERSON more to do the PC, but then there is no trans-Atlantic airfare to worry about. I'll be doing a 'pros & cons' spreadsheet. Both of our jobs would prefer we take a long vacation in Jan instead of Sept and it's hard to put a dollar value on that.

I'm also booked for the 8/30 Alaska cruise with gefric! :thumbsup2 However, that may change to another cruise line based on $$, we'll just have to see about that.

...that's my story as of right now.....
