DanaUK - great news..

Seewhat - congrats on liking the uni.. sept 3 .. not too far away..

Cheeringmom sorry about the bugs. hope that it get taken care of soon.. :hug:for your friends father.. hope she and you are okay..

NC B - how is FIL?? That is so nice of Beast to write him a note.. I am sure he will cherish that..

Yesterday was Meals and Wheels and then it was so hot that I turned on the A/C about 3 pm.. the whole neighbor went dark.. my neighbor said it was my fault:rotfl:since I turned on the a/c..we were only out about an hour and then it came back on.. I was gonna make steak on the grill but DH came home and said he wouldn't eat it..:confused3 so all had 'dovers and I'll do the steak for DS and me today as DH is going out to a work dinner..

Today I need to finish my SHIP final.. so I guess I should get started..

FIL is loving the visit with his cousins---singing old Irish songs (without the alcohol though) and conversations. Son#2 came in with his kids Wed. (wife comes in late Friday due to work), but they are staying at son #3's house 10 minutes away. I think the oldest son is still there too. Hopefully, FIL will not overdo things. He gets frustrated that he can't be as active as he used to be and having naps multiple times a day.

Whooo, it's the weekend! I was so tired last night that I had a lie in this morning until 10am!! I can't remember the last time I stayed in bed until 10am!!
So does anyone have a fun weekend planned? We have to sort out our garage, tidy it, then empty the contents of the garden shed into the garage ready for us taking the shed down in a few weeks time ready to build our new deck and pergola. I have loads of school work to do too. Our exam results came in on Friday (the best ever, we beat all our targets by a long way!), so next week we have to have end of year pupil progress meetings. As I am in charge of Maths I have to abnalyse all the schools maths grades for every child so we can set targets for the new class teacher for next year. It is a lot of work and involves lots of spreadsheets (and I hate those!!)
Well I guess I had better get on!
Have a nice Saturday all!!

This is a very busy weekend for us.
*Our festival is this weekend, and Kevin is chairman of it, so we haven't seen him much all week.
Last night I took the girls to the fest, and we were there until 10:30pm - it was fun!! The girls rode rides, we ate to much festival food, and saw alot of people we know:)
*Today I work, and then church, and then back to the festival. The girls aren't riding rides tonight (not spending $$ on that again), we are just hanging out, and probably eating more festival food. Kevin is doing the White Castle eating contest, so we are going to cheer him on :cheer2:
*Tomorrow is our town parade, and I am riding with the girls on a firetruck. After the parade, there is a cookout at the firehouse for us, and other fire depts participating in the parade. Then back to the festival we go. Sunday is "The Best Pizza in Town" contest, which is always fun!!! Then we'll go home for a short while, and then back to the festival at night to watch the laser light show.
All during this craziness, I need to get Stephanie packed and ready for camp, because she is leaving on Monday morning. So this weekend is jam packed!!!! :faint:

So....how do you all feel about Michael Jackson dying?
I'm sad about it, because he was my very most favorite in the 80's:love:
He's been fresh in my mind lately, because I put the Thriller video on my ipod a couple of months ago, and I brought my Thriller album to the store a couple of weeks ago to frame as a framing example.
I've actually been sad about him for many years now. I've always felt that he had serious mental problems that he needed serious help with. It was very sad how his appearance changed, and how his outlook on life changed. This is just the final chapter in his terrible downward spiral. :guilty:I hope he has some peace now after his crazy, always in the spot light life.

cheeringmom - I'm sorry to hear about your friends father :guilty:That's the same thing that happened to my grandma:guilty:

Danauk - Congrats on becoming a leads teacher - that's awesome!!!:cheer2:

To everyone else - :wave2:

Well, I gotta run and get ready for work
Have a great day today everyone!!!

Well, I'm taking my baby to camp today :guilty::) (2 smilies for that one)
She's going to have so much fun, but it's going to be so weird w/o her around. The house is going to be so empty and quiet. I know she'll be safe, but I'm starting to have feelings of nervousness. I'm going to miss her!!!! (she's going to be gone for 5 days and 4 nights)

I hope she's not to tired today, because our day was long yesterday. After being in the parade, and then the fest, we didn't get home for good until 10:30pm. The kids needed to take showers after that, so they didn't get into bed until 11pm - it was a long day!!!!:faint:

Well, I need to get in the shower and gather some last minute things for Stephanie.
Have a great day!!!

Good morning everyone,
Slo I'm sure Stephanie will have an amazing time at camp, I loved going on camp at her age! Next week I am taking some of my children on camp, we are going to an outdoor adventure centre for 3 days.

Seewhat Did you say you worked at a zoo? What do you do there?

Well the weather here is hot again, yesterday it got to 85 degrees and today and the rest of the week is set to be hotter. Tomorrow we are having a theme day in my class, we are dressing up and doing work all day on our castle topic. It should be really fun. then on Thursday we have sports day, I really don't like sports day, way too much to organise and sort out!! Today I have to sit in the office all day in meetings, I am not looking forward to this, it is going to be really hot!

Well I better go and get ready, have a good day everyone.

Life is so weird around here w/o Stephanie - the house is way to quiet!!!!
Katie is having a hard time adjusting w/o her sister, and had many tears Monday. She did better yesterday, and hopefully will do even better today.

The weather is here is unseasonable cool, which many are loving, but not me. I love the HOT weather, and it's bumming me out that I have a 3 day weekend, and I'm not going to be able to float in my pool. I want the heat back!!! :sunny:

Have a great day everyone!!!

This week is going by so fast - I can't believe Stephanie is already coming home tomorrow:goodvibes I'm really looking forward to hearing about all her adventures. I keep emailing her everyday reminding her to write down her activities, so she doesn't forget to tell me anything, plus everyone will want to hear about her camping experience on Saturday. Katie is very excited to have her sister home tomorrow. I told her when she went to bed last night that she had 2 more sleeps, and then Steph comes home - she shrieked w/ excitement!!!!:yay:

I gotta run and get ready for work
Have a good day!!!

Wow, I can't believe we only have 2 more weeks until our summer break. This week has been really long! Yesterday we had a theme day in my class. We were doing activities to do with our castles topic. The children came in costumes, princesses (quite a few Disney outfits!), lords, knights, kings and servants. Then we did archery, pretend jousting (OK, running and pretending to hit one anothers shields with foam javelins!), launching our trebuchets that we made and then having a medieval feast which was really fun. But the weather is really hot at the moment, so we were really hot! Today was supposed to be sports day, but we have had to pospone it because the weather is so hot and humid. Next week I am on camp with 27 children aged 9 - 11 and I am really looking forward to it, the break from school will be nice!!

Slo I bet you will all be pleased to have Katie back. I hope she has had a fun time. What sort of activities has she been doing?

:woohoo:NC Beast GOT A BIG SURPRISE TODAY---a nice raise!

NC B. had in March a deduction in salary which happen to almost everyone in the Company. Well...in the past few months a group of employees like NC B. were noted to had been a big help (excellent customer service skills) in the Company in securing some additional contracts which will help others keep employment. We will do something special this week to celebrate like maybe go to a movie (low key). Our anniversary is Monday so this is a great gift.

Slo-- Our 9 year old niece loved her horse camp last year. I think she is going to a couple of camps this month.

Danauk-- Maryland's official state sport for years is jousting (official team sport is lacrosse).

It's like Christmas morning here :santa: (I used this smilie in July)
Katie normally is very difficult to wake up, but she is already up, and the first thing out of her mouth was, "Sissy! Sissy! Sissy!" She is so excited to go pick her up this morning:yay::yay: She said she's going to give her lots of hugs and kisses when she sees her - she really loves her sister!!!!

I gotta go jump in the shower and get ready to go pick up Stephanie.
If I'm not on tomorrow, which is a strong possibility, with us having company tomorrow, I want to say......

Happy 4th of July!!!!!!

I hope you all have a wonderful and safe holiday!!!!!

Life is now back to normal in my house.:goodvibes

Stephanie was extrememly anxious to come home from camp - she had no problem saying goodbye:sad2:. I do think she had a good time, but there were many elements of camp that she didn't like. She wasn't thrilled about the cabin being dirty (this surprised me a little), she hated the well water, she didn't like no bathroom in the cabin, and the overall comforts of home. She said she would go back next year, but we'll see what next year brings :scratchin

Well, I gotta run and start getting ready for the day today - company starts coming over at 3pm.
Have a good day today!!!

Good morning everyone, I hope you all had a great 4th July yesterday. We spent yesterday putting up new facier boards and guttering on our house and next doors (our houses join together.) Well when I say we I mean Pete and the next door neighbour, I footed the ladder! Our nextdoor neighbour is 75 and he was climbing the ladder to stand on our garden room roof to help Pete out. I hope I am that fit and active when I am 75!

Today I need to do more housework, do the laundry and pack my bags ready for camp tomorrow. We are only away until Wednesday, but after all this beautiful weather we have been having lately, next week it has forecast rain all week, great when we are doing outdoor adventure activities! Then on Friday I have my new class for the morning, that should be interesting. Then once next week is out of the way I only have 1 more week at work until we break up for the summer holidays. The last week is usually really hectic, getting books ready for next year, re naming all the kids drawers in the classroom, sorting out groups, new stationary supplies for the tables etc. At least I am staying in the same room though next year so I can get a head start on things, some people have to move classrooms which is a pain!

Oh well, I had better go. Have a great day everyone.

I got up early today to make ADRs for the October ladies trip. I have:

10/3 - Kona
10/4 Tony's
10/5 LeCellier
10/6 Boma breakfast
10/7 Le Chef's
10/8 Coral Reef
10/9 Tutto Italia

should be an eating good time..

Morning Taglikins! Sorry I've been M.I.A.

Geffric....sounds like good eats! I'll be dining at Coral Reef for the first time in September, can't wait to try it.

Hope everyone had a great fourth of July.
