Escape to Neverland - A new Tagliarchy adventure!!

A lightening McQueen comforter, that is so cute :cutie:. When I went to university I took so much stuff with me to make my dorms look nice. Then again I am sure where you are staying will be a lot nicer than uni dorms. Thats cool you can chose how many people you want to share with, and who too. Do you have an idea of who you are going to choose at check in?

Again sorry for the million questions.

Well I can request where i'd like to live complex wise but I don't have much preference over who rooms with me. A lot of the people i've meet through facebook are arriving earlier then me so they'll already have roommates. But i'm sure i'll be happy with whoever I get. I'm just glad that I know the person that will be sharing the room with me. :)

Hi guys,
Sorry I haven't been around for a few days. Last night was our staff night out from school. I totally forgot about it until yesterday when my assistant asked if I wanted a lift!! I had to text my best friend Andrew who was supposed to be coming over to take me out for the evening and cancel on him!! Whoops!! But he forgave me!!

See what I hope you have a fab time on your course! I wish I could have got uni credits by working at Disney!!! I was really lucky though with my university. I spent 4 years at a uni that was a 17th century mansion set in several hundred acres of country parks, with 2 lakes and our own private estate (the strerotypical rolling hills of the English countryside). Think English mansion and thats where I spent 4 years living!! The only down side to that is that I now have very high standards in where ever I go!! I find it wierd having 21 as the legal drinking age in some states. I was asked for ID at AKL last time I went to WDW. I was asked if I was 21 when I was 29!! I was actually very flattered!! My assistant went to Las Vegas last summer with her family, boys aged 18 and 21. The 18 year old was not amused that he couldn't do things he can do at home. They are going back next year so he will be 19 and not allowed to do the things he does here. He is a great lad though so not really that bothered.

Thanks :goodvibes Your university sounds amazing! Unfortunately, I don't get credits for the program. But it's going to do wonders for my mental state ;) I really want to go to the UK some day!

If you ever come over I would love to give you a tour!! I know DLRP very well (I went there 3 times this year!!) and the Disnayland Park at Paris is my favourite of all the 8 Disney parks I have been in. Do you like rollercoasters in theme parks? I love coasters and have an AP to the UK's top coaster park Alton Towers.

I think someones mental state is very important. People who know me well here will know I have been through quite a bit over the past few years with work. The one thing I realised through it all is that your mental state is the most important thing!!

Seewhattimesdone ~ I'm here again tonight. What have you been up to then today?

Danuk ~ Where did you go to Uni? It sounds lovely. It is really strange coming from the UK about the drinking age, the first time I went with mu Mum I couldn't drink even though I was at uni and had been going out for years. The second time was over my 21st and I had to wait nearly 10 days till I could have a drink, which sucked at Dixie Stampede with all you can drink beer and wine. They asked me every time on my last visit and its just so funny as in the UK I was never ID'ed, even when I was 16, and now I am 23 and they ID me over there all the time.

That would be awesome! I really want to go to DLRP. Rollercoasters are my favorite! I didn't even know about Alton Towers. The faster and scarier the better ;) I can't wait to go to Europe some day.

I'm starting to realize the same thing. These past few years have been really tough. I'm just getting burned out and I need a break. I have to do what's best for me and my future. This is definately the right way for me to go :goodvibes

Seewhattimesdone ~ I'm here again tonight. What have you been up to then today?

I'm just finishing up a paper. Less than two weeks and schools out :faint: I'm so happy! I was looking at your TR too, you and your DBF make such a cute couple!

I still get ID'd and I'm 32!! I love it, it makes me feel so young!! I was asked for ID at the the Napa Rose restaurant in Disneyland and at the Bellagio in Las Vegas in the summer.

I went to uni at Bretton Hall, it was a specialist arts and education college of Leeds uni (I did a music degree) The college closed last year but the grounds are still open as it was set within the Yorkshire Scuplture Park. The uni was set with in the village of Bretton just off the M1 in Wakefield.

See what Alton Towers is is the best rollercoaster park in the UK. It has so many world or European 1st coasters. The only coaster park I have been to that is better in terms of thrill rides is Six Flags Magic Mountain in CA!! Coasters are my other love (along with Disney and musical theatre) I have ridden over 160 coaster so far. My favourite being X2 at SFMM and Nemasis at Alton Towers which I have ridden over 300 times in the past 12 years!! Did I read that you are from San Diego? I love San Diego. I visited there the 1st time I came to the states (stayed with my friends mum at Mission Beach). I loved going to the Del Coronado for lunch and visiting the old town. Oh and the zoo was amazing too!!

Seewhattimesdone ~ Thank you so much for your sweet comment. I hope you join me on my PTR.
Thats so cool school is nearly out. I was going to ask you how long you have for the holidays but then realised you are doing the CP after christmas. So are you finished for good with school at Christmas?

Danuk ~ I can't say I have heard of it but it sounds lovely. Do you just have an annual pass for Alton Towers or do you have the one that covers loads of attraction?

Danauk ~ Me again, sorry we must have posted at the same time. Firstly sorry I keep spelling your name wrong (well your screen name anyway). Secondly that is so funny you mention Del Coronado, I was just speaking to seewhattimesdone yesterday and mentioned the same thing about her living in San Diego. I then went on to say that I really want to stay at Hotel del Coronado, I think it looks so gorgeous and reminds me of Grand Floridian. The beach villas and cottages look so nice. Oh and Coldstone Creamery near by, need I say more...

We have Merlin passes which as AP's for Alton Towers, Thorpe Park, Chessington, Tussauds wax works, London and York dungeons, the London eye (we have used it loads on that too!!) and all sea life centres in the UK. But because we have been AP holders for years and years we only pay about £80 a year for renewal for the whole lot! Seen at Alton Towers is over £30 a visit I think the pass is well worth it!!! And we get 10% off Alton Towers hotel, food etc. We stay at one of the AT hotels for a night each year for a treat!

It's OK about the name!! My real name is Karen.
The Del Coronado was beautiful, we hope to go back to San Diego one day as we really loved it. I told my DH we are staying at the Del!! It is after all what the Grand Floridian (and in turn the Disneyland hotel at DLRP which I will only stay at from now on!!) is based on.

Danauk ~ We went to the London Eye not very long ago and saw th leaflets about those passes. We thought about getting them as we visit lots of different places. We have visited most of the places included on the pass already but thought, like you said, that AT is £30 for the day, add the LE, Legoland and one other place and that pays for the pass. It means we will be able to go out a lot more, without having to worry about the money. And we can get the passes with Clubcard vouchers making them only £55-60 for 2.

We have only stayed at AT once and really enjoyed it. We stayed at the AT hotel but went to the waterpark and ate in the buffet at Splash Landing which was good. Its so expensive though, we could stay at the Poly for the same price or less... if only it was as close.

I love magic mountain! X2 is my favorite rollercoaster :lovestruc I wish I could make it out there more often. It sounds like i'll definately have to check out Alton Towers when I visit. Yup, i'm in San Diego :) I'm glad you liked it, there's so much to do if you know where to look. I've lived here a little over a year and I still haven't seen it all! I live near the zoo; it never gets old because there's so many darn animals to see. It's a little over an hour drive to Disneyland too so that's a plus ;) Although, i'm pretty sure living in the UK is ten times more amazing with all of Europe just a plane ride away

I'll definately check out your PTR. I love reading PTRs and TRs. It makes me feel like i'm back at WDW :goodvibes I'm not done with school for good but i'm taking the year off to save up for classes when I get back. And it will give my brain a rest :faint: I'm hoping to go to UCLA when I get back :)

Karen ~ It sounds like you travel to the US quite a lot. I plan to visit California soon but need to save up a bit as I want to see everywhere. And defintely want to stay at del Coronado, I was just looking at it last night.

I love, love, love the Disneyland hotel, and have yet to stay there :cloud9:. It is my dream to stay there one day soon, preferably in the Castle Club, but I will have to give up all my trips to WDW and the US first I think with the extortionate prices DLRP charge.

Seewhattimesdone ~ I really don't think living in the UK is half as cool as living in the US. Yes were close to Europe but you have the Caribbean, Mexico, South America, Canada and all the other amazing and varied places in the US. I really want to move to the US if you hadn't guessed :cloud9:

Good on you for taking a year off to rest your brain. Its a hard decision sometimes to choose to do that but if you feel you need to then its definitely the right decision, and what could be better than spending that time in Disney. UCLA sounds so cool, I bet you will have a great time there :thumbsup2.

We tend to visit the USA every 2 years. But when we go we tend to do all out kind of trips (this summer we went to Disneyland staying at the Grand Californian, although our best friends paid for that with their DVC points for our anniversary present, then went to Six Flags Magic Mountain for 3 days, then to Hollywood for 6 days then to Las Vegas for a week at the Bellagio.) We were lucky with our DLRP trips this year I as came in to some money which paid for our trips, we would not have gone otherwise. I treated my parents to their 1st Disney trip to DLRP in October. We stayed at the Disneyland then and I really wanted to stay castle club but it was fully booked. I am glad now that we didn't as the fast passes can only be used between 2 and 6pm and the concierge there is not on a par with WDW and Disneyland. I do have shares in DLRP which helps with the cost of the trips!! They are really worth it!

I agree with what you are saying about wanting to live in the UK/USA. I would love to live in the USA too. But can see why our American friends would want to live in the UK. I think it is a case of us all thinking the grass is always greener on the other side!! lol In reality it isn't!!

Karen ~ I know what you mean about the grass being greener, an American friend on here was saying that to me before. At first I couldn't think of anything I would miss from over here apart from my family. But then thought about the cost of healthcare and college for my kids (when I have them obviously), so there are some down sides. But in general I still would love to live there, although I am not 100% sure where as there are so many places that sound so great and interesting.

Your California trip sounds really good. We are like that, when we go to the US we go all out, after all its quite far to travel (well thats my excuse anyway :cutie:). We are planning to go to Ca for about 6 weeks so we can see and do as much as possible, and hopefully do a week in Hawaii on the end. Hence the need to save up for it. We have been really lucky this year and had 2 trips to the US and have 2 planned for next year too, but soon we will have to start spending our money on more sensible things :sad2:

I think we should just trade places! :rotfl: It's true that we do have access to some cool places but nothing like what you have! At least in my opinion but technically i've never been to Europe so I don't really know firsthand. I can't imagine how good it's going to feel to not have to be worrying about classes or grades :faint:
