As for news from here, no baby today. I guess I have to wait a little while longer for my niece/nephew to appear!!

I remember when NC Beast's brothers' wives gave birth to our nieces. One niece was born on her due date and the other niece came 3 weeks early. I think that my sister may have her baby early. However, if the baby is anything like me...he may act like he is coming early, but he will come after the due date.

She's nervous, because she doesn't remember having it done before (she was only 3 1/2), and I keep telling her that she did fine before, and she'll do fine again

Why are some days so hard to get up and motivated???



TLH - I hope you had a less hectic day yesterday. Were you able to spend some time with your friend?

It was a hard day to get up here too. It is rainy and dreary......a perfect day to sleep in.
Yes, we did get to spend time with friends after school yesterday. We had a wonderful time. The kids ran around outside, and the mom and I had time to chat, drink tea, etc. It was a relaxing afternoon. I also met up with the lady that I ordered my candles from a little over a week ago. My order was in so I got to pick up my three candles! This was my first time to buy Gold Canyon candles. (I love to burn candles and have a wonderful smell fill the house! ) My hairdresser has been burning Gold Canyon candles for almost a year. Every time I have gone in to get a cut, I have noticed that it smells the whole shop. I decided to give them a try. I bought the Welcome Home, Pineapple Coast, and Warm Apple Crisp. Right now I have the pineapple one burning. It smells wonderful!!!!!!!!!
So yesterday was a great day!!!!!!

Danauk - No work next week!!! What are ya gonna do??

What am I going to do? Well guess what phone call we got again at work today? Yes, you've guessed it, the inspectors are in again! This time the week back after our week off for 2 days. So my week off work has just turned into a week doing work but at home. I am not impressed .We knew the inspectors would be back, but we were not expecting them for another 6 weeks!!
On the positive side at least we get it over with, I had myself mentally prepared that I could look forward to my trip to Disneyland Paris once they had been, so I guess I can allow myself to look forward to my trip for longer!

THL - I've never heard of Golden Canyon Candles. Is this something you can only get at a home party, or can you find them at stores? Are they the same price as Yankee Candles, or are they less or more?

Danauk - OMgosh!!!! When are these inspectors going to leave you all alone?! I'm getting really annoyed for you, because this has to be very stressful for you I'll send some PD your way so you can still enjoy your vacation time

THL - I've never heard of Golden Canyon Candles. Is this something you can only get at a home party, or can you find them at stores? Are they the same price as Yankee Candles, or are they less or more?

You cannot buy them at stores, but you do not have to buy them at home parties only. You can buy them from local GC demonstrators/reps in your area. Their web site has a link so that you can locate one. Or you can buy them online. However, that is hard since you aren't able to smell them ahead of time (even though there is a money back guarantee if you are not satisfied). The local reps have a sample kit with small samples of each candle so you can smell them before you order. I have to tell you.........the smell fills my ENTIRE HOUSE!!!!!!!!!!! They are strong candles!!!!!!! I burned the pineapple yesterday. Today I have the apple one burning. I can smell it upstairs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!
The price is about the same as Yankee, maybe a little cheaper.

Since DH is still out of town for work, I will not be doing anything special tonight. We have hair appointments after school and then tennis lessons for my girls. We will do a Valentine celebration when DH gets back home. We will at least avoid crowds that way.

Happy Valentines Day!!!!

I am home with a sick almost 5-year-old. She has had a cough since Monday night that has turned into a 102.9 fever yesterday. She was wheezing so badly last night I thought I was going to have to take her to the ER. Put her lips were pink not blue - so I figured she was getting O2, it was just so hard to hear. Then vomited a couple of times and that seemed to help her out. It was all drainage.

I have an appointment for her at 11:30 today. But first we are going to run her cards by pre-school. She is HEARTBROKEN that she is going to miss her party. She keeps telling me she wants to got to school and then cries "Who will pass them out if I don't go." I am working to get her to understand that they would not allow her to stay in the building with a fever over 101. (and not that I would ever consider actually sending her when she feels so bad).

Hey, all!

Blue Bayou---that sounds like my littlest one, when he started with RSV last week.....that virus is running rampant here. My DD had to miss their party last year, and she was devastated.

TLHB---just heard of those candles. there's a mom in my mothers of twins club that sells them....she was telling me about them in an email just yesterday.

SLO's Question---doing nothing. I'd like to take a nap, but that's a no go, i'm sure. i'm still really sick. waiting to hear back on chest x-rays that had me go for last night. thinking it's probably pneumonia.

So, here's a dessert to help us think of warmer days.....(can't find any pics of ones i've done for Valentine's days, or the ones for my cousin's wedding shower....), the twins helped with this golfing by the beach theme...

KariC - What a CUTE cake! Sorry to hear your son has been sick with RSV.

Slo - so sorry that Katie is sick.

I did take my daughter to the doctor's office. They were leaning toward influenza - but the test came back negative. The test for strep was negative too. On the plus side her oxygen levels are fine and her lungs seem clear. She just has horrible drainage and an awful cough.

So I am just treating the fever symptoms hoping she will get better soon.

Katie is still not well - she just can't shake this thing. She doesn't eat much, she still has a fever, she gets tired very easily - I'm starting to wonder if she has some type of flu. Needless to say, she is going to work with me again today - I don't want her going to daycare when she's not 100%
All I know, that if I don't get what she's got, it's a miracle!!! Last night I was smearing some Vick on her chest (she has some congestion), and all of a sudden she coughs right in my face I could have gotten annoyed, but she's sick, and she just needs mommas love, not annoyance. So I have a feeling this sickness will be a "to be continued...."


Today Stephanie is off school, because she has winter break It's so nice to not have to deal with the aggravation of getting her on the bus today. She's also coming to work with me, but then my mom is going to come get her at around lunch time.


Today Kevin is leaving for Florida until Wednesday. He, his dad, and his 2 friends are going to The Daytona 500 on Sunday. So while we are digging ourselves out of the snow, again, he'll be soaking up the sun - lucky duck!!!!

today is the BIG day at our house. My son finds out if he will be a future florida gator. 5:00 eastern time. I am sooooo stressed.

Well, sickness has now hit my house. I will join the rest of you that are dealing with it. My youngest DD had a slight cough yesterday. By last night her throat was hurting. Today the cough is worse; the congestion has hit, and her throat hurts worse. Also, she has a fever. Right now it is 100 degrees. I am going to check again before bed.


KariC, I love the cake. YUM! I think I will have to find something like that around here.
It is funny that you have just heard about the candles. I have only known about them about a month. I have been very impressed with them! The candle burns evenly, no soot on the jar, and the aroma fills the entire house!

BlueBayou - That's great that your DD's tests came back negative Did the doctor put her on an antibiotic or anything?

Nope - Everything looked clear (Nothing yellow or green) and her lungs apparently sounded fine - no signs of pneumonia. She listened to the lungs for a long time. I am hopeful that the fever may have broken overnight. We will see what happens as the afternoon comes.

Sorry that Katie is still under the weather. Elise was not eating either. From Tuesday until yesterday at noon she would only have a bite or two at any meal. I did buy her a churro on Thursday because I was so worried about her not eating. She didn't even want it until I got it into the car. After one bite - she asked for the whole thing. So I knew she wasn't going to starve to death.
