I just read on Disney's Wedding website that they offer some enhancements for Escape weddings including hors d'oeuvres. I hadn't read anywhere that this was possible until now.

Previous or current Escape brides do you know anything about this? :confused3

TIA!

I am having a cheese platter for my guests.

I am getting married at SBP, and due to the fact that my future FIL is in a wheelchair and isnt in the best of health, so we are opening the reception room at Boardwalk Convention Center immediately after the ceremony. This will allow people to get out of the heat while we take some pictures.

Through the Boardwalk Convention Center there were lots of options

Veggie Platter
Fruit Platter
Hot hors d'oeuvres
Cheese Display

Oh wow, awesome! What was the pricing like? Also will they serve it at SBP or do you have to move somewhere else?

I'm trying to avoid a sit-down reception due to the cost.

OOH! I want to know too! I would love to have a fruit and cheese platter out there! We have a couple people with health problems, including me, so I am looking for a way to have some food to help regulate my blood sugar. I dont have the ability to go all over the place, so i would love to have snacks there.

I too would be very interested in the details about this!!! I have two diabetics in my party who need to eart regularly and this would be perfect!!!

Thank you for the info!!!
Are you having a meal as well?
I understand that Escape brides can only have their reception locations for 2 hours. Is this right?

That is really cool! I wish they had that when we did our Escape (then called Intimate) - we definitely would have gotten hors d'oeuvres - great new option for Escape brides!

I am having a sit down meal at the St. James room(it's actually pretty reasonable for anyone who is a budget bride like myself. I like the idea of having a private room, and we saved money by not paying for the dessert- since we have a wedding cake anyway).

We are offering the cheese display for the guests to enjoy as we get our pictures taken. Our reception is booked for two hours, but for a small wedding like mine, i dont see it being a problem! Aside from a first dance and a father-daughter dance, we dont plan on dancing.

To clarify, is the cheese display included in the 2hrs? I am having a 12pm wedding - I wanted 2:30 but it was already booked by a Wishes bride! :-( - so I am in desperate need to find other things to do in the meantime.

My first and second choice for ceremony times were taken- so im stuck at 12 noon also. The cheese display is included in the 2 hours we will be at the St. James Room. As of right now, our time line looks like this

12:00 Ceremony
12:30-St. James room opens for cheese display and beverages (it was originally going to be at 1, but we moved it forward 1/2 an hour so we could get my future FIL out of the sun- he has health issues)
1:00- Cake cutting, and first dance
1:20- Lunch served.
2:30- We leave St. James room go back to OKW and take our first nap as wedding couple!. LOL:goodvibes

Does anyone know if it's possible to have it more than 2 hours? maybe pay a fee for an extra hour?

Are you including or even able to have a bar open for the 2 hours?
