Hi Girls!
So, BF has ordered the ring...PJ to follow once it is on my finger. Families have been notified that it will be a Disney wedding...and all are strangely ok with this-WHICH IS AWESOME! I had some huge fears that some would complain.

Anyway, we are only going to have 8 guests total. What should I do about invitations? It seems to me that you have to buy an outrageous amount of invites to get what you need.
So, here is my question-
How big was your guest list?
Who did you get your invites from?
How did they handle a small order?
How was their customer service?

My fear is that even if we do our invites by phone, we'll get the "I didn't get an invite" spiel. Also, I'm not certain I can make them by myself and get the finished product that I am looking for.

Thanks!

We are doing ours ourselves since we're only sending out about 10 or so, and then I'll do any more as announcements rather than invites. I got a box of 40 at WalMart on clearance for $7. If they don't come out perfect I'll have extras to keep trying. Besides, with invites only going to close friends and relatives who know we are poor, they aren't going to sweat over a not-perfect invite.

Not much help for your online info, but doing them yourselves may not be so bad. I did my own "save the date" cards and they turned out pretty nice!

I had 18 guests but only needed 10 invites. I ordered invites and reception cards (no rsvp cards) from wedding paperdivas.

It actually cost less for me to have them do it than it would have if I bought the card stock, stamps, ink, etc and took the time to print them out. You can only order 25, but I found that people who were not invited (friends who knew why they guest list had to be under 18) still wanted an invite.

we are having the same problem our local department store have some really lovely designs you can buy in packs of 10 that is the uk though i dont know about your department stores though x x x sorry not much help just wanted to share the dilema with you lol

We had 12 guests... I didn't do invitations though because it was just my immediate family going. I did do them for my reception though and I bought them at Hallmark and made them myself.

You can also go to evite.com I think and make an invitation on there. Why waste the money, unless you want an invitation. On evite people can RSVP there and you can customize your evite however you want.

Our guests were just our family, so we just told them, lol, but we got some announcements that we mailed to EVERYBODY. I think announcements are a good idea if you are having a destination wedding like an Escape wedding! :goodvibes

it is true about saving money on not sending but i would love to send invitations as keepsakes i dont know if thats what petals and pixie dust had in mind x

I'm making our invites. At most we'll have 18 people, but many of them are grouped together by family so it shouldn't be to bad. For our big at-home reception we'll be doing custom postcards.

I did mine myself. $20 at Office Depot for 50 invites, small and large envelopes, and reception/RSVP cards (I made some of these into Thank you cards as well). I printed them using Microsoft Word - there was a little work involved getting them just right, but it was worth all of the money I saved! I love how my invitations came out, they're beautiful.

Thanks for all the insight!!! I'm not sure how all this destination wedding stuff goes. The ring comes in next week...I'll start to figure it out then...:rotfl:
