For anyone who was there today for the opening...does this attraction have a single rider line like harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey?

Single rider queue today.

I just got back from Gringotts/Diagon (5 hour wait when I left to get in). They were running only 3 cars. I went in the regular queue despite single riders, since single riders misses a good chunk of the preshow, elevator, and Gringott's ID card section. You do briefly go through the great hall though.

Opening wasn't as crazy as Hogsmeade by far, but it was still jammed packed. People swarmed toward Gringott's when the land opened, I walked the entire queue (Even extended). There is a movie mine cart in the extended queue that's pretty interesting The preshow rooms were really nice, and the elevator made my legs bounce (it's awesome). The ride, barring a few effects, went really smooth, and the way you escape toward the ending was a bit of a surprise.

The Gringott's Queue line was up to 450 minutes, and the wait to get into Diagion alley was 4-5 hours. The queue starts by Fear factor, but goes behind it back to the back of MIB and a lot of backstage area to keep the main paths clear.

Transformers was at 90 minutes, rockit and 90, Dispicible me was at 120. The park was still CROWDED despite so many people waiting in Diagon.

The good side, I was able to slip in some of the shops in Diagon since everyone else seemed to be in line for Gringotts. I'm glad I got to ride it first thing!

what are the drops like?

Thanks for the input everyone! Hopefully it will have slowed down a TINY bit by the time we get there at the end of September :thumbsup2

It's mostly flat, except for the first drop down. Not bad at all, tamer than Mummy.

thanks..I am a roller coaster chicken. I nearly threw up after space mountain two years ago. LOL I am not even crazy about the drop in POTC.

Thunder mountain is about all I can handle.

Worth the hype in your opinion?

Definitely worth they hype! We were in the initial group let into DA this morning, were on and off of the ride before 9AM. Honestly, it blows anything Disney has put out there lately completely out of the water (although I honestly cannot compare it to 7DMT as we missed it's opening earlier this year). Unfortunately it appears that they are experiencing glitches now, as reported by this article in the Sentinel:

It's one of the most unique things I've ever been on. There was so much going on in it I really wanted 2-3-4 more rides on it. So by that alone, I'd say yes, but it'll take a few more rides on it to give a solid answer.

Thanks for your responses. Looking forward to checking it out in September! :thumbsup2

sounds like at least some people in line to get into DA were given tickets with a return time, so a lot of people "waiting" might be riding other things

We will be there on July 29-31. Staying onsite so will use EE. If we go straight to Gringotts, what are some predictions of wait times? We will wait a while, but no way would we wait hours.

Yeah, I will be at Universal Studios July 29th; I too am curious what the lines may be and more specifically if me and my friend go straight to Gringotts or wait till afternoon to go in line?
