Can you modify one of the escape cakes? I dont need a really big change if I made a small change. Have any other Escape brides done this?

Was there an Escape cakes thread once, other than the big Cake sticky?

We are ordering the scrollworks cake and have changed the flavours inside. The bottom layer will be marble with peanut butter cup filling and the top layer will be lemon with cream cheese filling. We are being charged a $50 upgrade fee to do this.

I am an Escape bride as well, and I didn't even think of changing the cake. Is that something I'll get information on once I sign the Letter of Agreement? We should be getting that today. The peanut butter cup filling sounds delicious!

We are having the gold Mickey cake. We requested that the bottom layer be marble with chocolate mousse and the top be yellow cake with raspberry mousse. Amy (our planner) said we could do this at no additional charge.

We had the roses and drapes and the flowers come in pink or red but we asked for orange and there was no charge

The Escape has standard flavours/fillings... we went outside the standard and that is why we are being charged the upgrade fee. I found the different flavours (normally offered to Wishes brides) here on the boards and really liked them.

Standard Escape Flavours...
Yellow, Chocolate, Almond, Marble

Standard Escape Fillings...
Chocolate Mousse, White Chocolate Mousse, Strawberry Mousse, Raspberry Mousse, Bavarian Cream, White Buttercream, Chocolate Buttercream

They tell you only one choice in each category, but I guess they are not that picky with the two layers being different, as long as you are choosing from the standard flavours/fillings list.

I've heard of many different Escape Brides changing colours on the outside of their cakes with no fees... so I think they are only picky with the flavours/fillings going inside the cake and with additions (icing flowers/floral/ect).

We're going with the Modern Deco cake but we're upgrading to the peanut butter cup filling for $30.

We asked about getting a 2 tier mad hatter cake and how much that would cost. Our planner said that depending on the theme, and how intricate we want the details to be, it usually starts at about $125.

In Carrie's "Passporter" book, I am pretty certain it did say that Escape brides can use Wishes flavours at not cost. However, I think that book may have been done in 2008, so maybe things have changed?

The book came out in February 2009, and it's already been updated THREE times 'cuz Disney keeps changing things!

Once I can confirm with Disney that there is now a charge for flavors besides the ones listed in the Escape packet, I will update it in the book. (...once you own it, you can always download the updated version of the book for free!)
