Escape brides: Enhancements?

Yes, the new policy is that if you add any kind of private catered event to an Escape wedding, you must meet a $7,500 minimum—but the price of the Escape package counts toward it, and you only pay tax and service charge on those things you add to the package.

The $7,500 minimum is also triggered if you have your Escape wedding on Saturday or Sunday.

i feel like this is a complete joke even before I even start planning a wedding. I may aswell just give up on the whole idea and keep my fingers crossed for the maldives.

A Disney wedding can certainly get expensive, but you can go around it and still have a lovely wedding. If you don't have a dessert party, a weekend wedding, or a private reception dinner you don't need to worry about the minimum. We didn't have a DP and had a weekday ceremony...and were very satisfied with the amazing time we had...AND we did it all for under $7,500. Just a thought! :goodvibes

I would not give up on your dream wedding. Just like PP, you can do a very nice wedding with out some of the "extras." As much as I would love to have a DP when we do our VR, I don't think that will be happening......

I am hoping for the Chef's table at V and A, as we LOVE Hell's Kitchen, and I would love to sit in on the action!

the only want i had for my whole day was a DP though! anything else i could give or take. I was planning a midweek wedding anyway as it would be during my two week annual holiday

What time does Beaches and Cream close each day .... that would be quite amusing to go there for an ice cream after a meal.

what about a DP onboard the disney wishes cruise? would that generate a mnimum of 7.5k?

I must admit, there is a few things which could get the disney wedding back on track ... the GBP£-to-US$ could go up to nearly 2 to the $ again, im not planning on having it until dec 2012 so there is PLENTY of time. I just hope disney doesnt raise it again before I can book it or is the 7.5k minimum applicable to 2012 weddings?

I may be wrong but I think that if you book the Grand 1 and have private catering on board (eg desserts and drinks) it doesn't trigger the $7500.00 minimum as you don't book it through DFTW :thumbsup2

So if I plan a dinner at say Spirit of Aloha for our guests (not going through our planner) then it would not trigger this $7500 thing...right?

Thanks!

Right. Only private catered events booked through Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings trigger the $7,500 minimum. :)
