I've not seen any cake cuttings on the Commanders Terrace for, like, forever... I've heard that they will not be doing any more cake cuttings on the Commanders Terrace...

I'm looking for any recent escape brides - where have you had your cake cuttings? I'm not sure if I like the idea of being in a sectioned off ballroom... we are planning our ceremony for the wedding pavilion so was quite looking forward to the Commanders Terrace...

Anyone have any recent pictures also?

TIA xx

I am going to be an Escape Bride and we r just doing the cake cutting at the Canada Pavillion where the wedding will be.

Thanks pixiedust: if I could handle getting up that early I'd be in the Canada Pavilion too!

I hope we have some recent Wedding Pavilion brides that can help xxx

Yes they stopped doing them there because of the DVC construction. Once thats over I presume they'll resume.

They do them in the Key West Room now I believe.

I had my Escape wedding at the Wedding Pavilion at the end of April and our cake cutting ceremony was in the Key West Room. It certainly would not have been my 1st choice, the terrace is much nicer, but it was ok. Really, the cake-cutting and eating didn't take very long and we were out of there so it didn't make a huge deal, but the space is less than magical, it's true.

We had our escape wedding on 1/28/12 - I did not like the old key west room from the pictures i saw so we asked for another location and were offered Citrico's Rotunda for our cake cutting/ champagne toast. It was beautiful and bright, tons of windows! Also, the violinist sounded amazing in this room because of the high ceilings for our first dance. It probably depends on what time of day your wedding is though because the actual restaurant was closed at the time of our event. It's on the 2nd floor (I think) of the main building of the GF so people were wandering by down the hall and were stopping to watch, we both felt so special!

Wow the rotunda sounds nice, so you have a link i can go look at the pics if you can't post them? I usually upload photos to photo bucket then link from there :) x

Thanks Chilly will check it out :)

Now thinking about doing an escape reception at the key west room, or the smallest nutcracker ballroom with access to the courtyard or the attic, exciting times to be replanning!

Anyone know if I could have an escape reception in the Nutcracker as there will be a max of 20 of us?

We had our meal in the Key West Room, although not the most exciting room we hardly noticed as we were chatting and enjoying the wonderful food.

Did you write a TR? Might have to dig it out if you DF (sorry if its in your signature I can't see them on my phone!)

Found it!

The table looked lovely for dinner - not sure it would seat 20 people tho! I wonder if they can make it bigger...
