Hey all! I'm seeking a little direction from former or current Disney brides & grooms or even someone more familiar with Disney weddings than I am
My fiancé and I have decided to take the leap a little sooner than anticipated. We're in talks with a Disney wedding planner for an October 2016 week day ceremony under the Escape package. We have approx. 15 guests. It'll just be immediate family which should be intimate and a fun fall trip for everyone!
Based on our flexibility throughout the month of October we're not too attached to a particular week day. We just prefer the 10 am time slot.
My questions will follow once I explain what we're aiming for a little better!
Right now we're between the wedding gazebo at the Yacht Club and Sea Breeze Point at the Boardwalk. I feel pretty attached to an outdoor ceremony (weather permitting). Are there any other options than the limited selections on the website? I've tried to ask for something at the Polynesian (top dream to be on the beach there) but no dice. I completely understand it's not an option for the package I've selected. I'm just wondering if anything else outside of the few they've listed are options! Was anyone over the moon about either the wedding gazebo or Sea Breeze? I feel a little torn between the two.
Our hope is to be in Magic Kingdom to celebrate the rest of the day and take in the fireworks long after the ceremony.
More than likely many of us will be staying at Port Orleans French Quarter...although we're always willing to take new suggestions in the moderate price range!
My dream of all dreams would be to have a buffet brunch with everyone after the ceremony at the Polynesian. Is that even doable with a 10 am ceremony? Trying to seek out brunch / lunch offerings (especially buffet style) has proved to be a bit more difficult than I anticipated. Any suggestions or plated alternatives you could recommend?
I think I also really love the idea of having photos taken in my gown around the Polynesian and Grand Floridian resort areas. How likely is that to take place with the stipulations on transportation provided with the package that day?
I think the only other thing I haven't asked my planner yet
is, has anyone made additional modifications to the standard cakes they offer? How about a vegan option? Is that something the bakery providing could do or even Erin McKenna's shop could do? Again, these are all things I will be going over with our planner, but if you have recommendations or personal experience, I'd be so thankful to hear it!
Would anyone have any suggestions to simplify what's going on in my scattered non-Disney pro mind?
