Make it go AWAY!!! :badpc:

BTW, that chart isn't the most current. The 5 p.m. report has winds up to 60.

Interesting... maybe for you. Scary with the possibility of horror for us. Too many of us in trailers. Homes just being repaired. Some of us just moving back into our homes. We're just getting back on our feet. Nuf said.

ACK! Sorry if that sounded insensitive. :( I hate pushing the panic button but each forecast I've heard has this thing just a little bit further east. If that keeps up I'll be watching it come through my backyard.

Prayers for anyone who might be effected by this.

No offense taken. :) We are trying so hard not to panic! So much of my community was destroyed, it's hard to have a sense of humor about these things now. :guilty:

We'll pray it fizzles and leaves us ALL alone!

Tuesday is the one year anniversary of Katrina.
New Orleans is presently full of journalists covering that story.
It would be sadly ironic if its a replay-huh? :sad2:

Yes, it would. :guilty: Prayers to all......Faith.

As soon as the word "Hurricane" is heard the gas stations here have a price jump! Gas FINALLY went under 3.00 a gallon, it is 2.99 at my corner and now with just that one word prices will be jumping daily!!

Virgo,

I'm with you. I'm keeping a cautious eye on it, and I even pulled out our much neglected hurricane kit last night. It needs some updating.

I'm extra nervous this season, as we now own a house, and have a dog. Both are much-added stressors that we didn't have in previous hurricanes.

Let's hope it fizzles out and doesn't affect ANYONE!

I hope it just fades away! Not likely, but one can hope. I don't wish it on anyone, but I really don't want it anywhere near Tallahassee. I just left DD there last weekend at the college. I'm having enough trouble dealing with her being gone. I'll be very upset if she is in the path of a hurricane! :guilty:

Holly,

I'm with you on the hurricane kit-need to get that stuff together, just in case. Freezer's got a lot of grillable stuff, too. ;)

Anne, Orlampa is the area between Orlando and Tampa. Both cities are experiencing tons of growth and are spreading towards each other. I'm on the west side, Holly's on the east side of Orlampa!

Holly....where is Orlampo Florida?
I don't believe it is actually a place, supposedly they were going to build a train from Tampa to Orlando and this was just a little south of WDW, you see billboards on I4 that say Orlampa.......kinda a combination of Orlando/Tampa, I maybe wrong about that but that is what I was told awhile back.

Went through Katrina last year. Got my generator, gassed up today and watching. Continuing to pray for easterly shear (east wind that is preventing Ernesto from intensifying).

If anyone is interested, http://www.crownweather.com/tropical.html, is a great website for information. Be careful, though if too much information freaks you out. Me, the more info, the better - I like to know what I'm up against.

Prayers for all in Ernesto's path.

It is such a sad week for all us. I am having a bit of the freakouts about Ernesto and praying it fades away to nothing. :sad2:

We've been getting things ready around here today as well. Making sure the generator is working, that sort of thing.

I'll probably make a trip in the morning to round up some nonperishable items, some more water, and fill up the gas cans.

We never evacuate because we're not in a flood zone, but after living through Katrina, part of me just wants to run somewhere else at the thought of another one!!!!

I know what she means, I certainly don't like those two BLUE lines! I think two hurricanes in two years is enough thank you.;)

My brother lives in NOLA. He lives near Tulane, they didn't even get water in the house, but he was displaced for quite some time, and his company moved across the lake (forget the name of the town)..........they are still over there, so now he has a commute that he didn't have before.

My cousins live in Mississippi, but they're not on the coast.

Katrina still had a negative impact on all of them. The psychological climate of NOLA really changed, my brother said, and my cousins would just say, "It's so sad and so hard." I do hope it falls apart.
