Up bright and early again this morning. Out to the bus to TTC so that we could take the monorail to Epcot. It was lightly sprinkling and the sky was very gray. Of course we started off with Spaceship Earth (as usual) and wasted some time looking around. We headed over to breakfast at PSB. We all enjoyed the food and the characters better than CRT. We will definitely return. DD got seconds of the sweet stuff. After breakfast, DD played on the boat in Norway again.
We hadn't spent much time in World Showcase yet so we waited for the rope drop to WS. We headed to China and looked around a little waiting for the first movie of the day. DS got to crawl around before the movie started and then DH tried to let Nicholas crawl around a little during the movie, being careful to keep DS away from the other people. Part of the way through the film, DH took the kids out and let me stay. He's not as crazy about the film as I am, plus being the sweetie that he is, he wanted me to get to see it. We looked around in the store in China and I contemplated getting a shirt with my Chinese astrological sign, but my DOB is in early January (just before the start of the Chinese New Year) so it makes it confusing since most people think that it just goes by our exact calendar year- I didn't want to have to explain this to anyone so I skipped getting the shirt- I'm weird, what can I say? Courtney wanted to go back and play on the boat in Norway so we headed back there for a little while.
By this time, the sun was out. We headed back to Future World and got passes for Test Track. We then went to Ellen's Energy Adventure. WARNING: upcoming, bad parental judgement situation******Nicholas wanted to crawl and we were finally in a carpeted area, so I let him down to crawl by us. The place was not crowded and the lights were not out yet so I though he would be okay right by us. A lady came in and tripped over him. Luckily, she did not fall and he was not hurt. She just kind of stumbled over him. I felt like a HORRIBLE parent and also bad for the lady who also felt terrible. Anyway, I love Ellen so I love this attraction.
We were hungry again so we headed over to Electric Umbrella for some chocolate chip cookies and milk. YUM! (I know....we're at Epcot and we had cookies for a snack...we're so cultured....yeah, right). We then went to use our FPs at Test Track. DH went with DD while I stayed with DS wo fell asleep on the way over. Then DD and DH took the babe while I rode TT. We decided to meet by the monorail so we could take that over to MK.
DD wanted to ride Space Mountain again so I waited in the gift shop with DS. I bought DD a Tomorrowland visitor's pass with her name on it to wear around her neck as a small surprise. I gave it to her when they came out and let her pick out a SM t-shirt as this is her new favorite ride. She also picked out a couple of pins to stick through the string on her visitor's pass. Next we rode Buzz Lightyear.
We were a little hungry so we headed to Cosmic Ray's. I kind of wanted a sandwich but the sandwich counter closes before dinner. We all got burgers and fries and found a seat near Sonny Eclipse. Sonny and his music were a big hit with Nicholas. There is one song to the tune of "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy" that got DS really rocking back and forth.
DD wanted to ride the Teacups and what better thing to do after having burgers and chocolate milk.
Just kidding- we were fine. DD got one by herself since she wanted to spin as much as possible and I rode with DS since I don't know his motion sickness level yet. He loved the round metal thing that you turn to spin, DD loved being a big girl and getting to ride by herself, and DH loved not having to ride it. I had a surprise planned so we needed to get back to WL- it was the sleigh ride.
They knew there was a surprise, but I wouldn't tell them what it was. (I shouldn't have even told them I had a surprise planned, but I have a hard time keeping anything to myself
.
We still had not taken care of a piece of luggage that had gotten damaged being transferred yesterday from AKL to WL (we were out too late last night at MVMCP to take care of it then). So we went to our room and I got the hook that had broken off of our garment bag and took it to bell services to see if anything could be done, while DH refilled our mugs with hot chocolate. A very nice CM (Andy?) said that he would get the other part of the luggage later and take it to engineering. We went outside and sat on a bench- we had about 20 minutes to kill. DH and DD were still trying to guess the surprise. Since we had so much time, I ran up to our room to get the garment bag and save Andy a trip. I ran back out to my family and they were like, "Ha Ha! We figured it out- it's a sleigh ride." I was hoping for a different reaction, like, "Oh my gosh! I can't believe we're going on a sleigh ride!" But, oh well. I shouldn't have told them to expect a surprise because then it was overshadowed by them trying to guess what it was. Live and learn!
The sleigh ride was fun, but Courtney was a little freaked out due to an episode of X-Files that had a monster with glowing red eyes out in the Florida woods. I don't know that we will do it again unless one of the kids were just really wanting to go or maybe if DH and I were on a solo trip (you know, like 20 years from now. LOL!)
After the sleigh ride, the kids and I went back up to our room and DH began the task of switching busses to get to AKL since we never moved our car over to WL. Andy (?) brought up our fixed garment bag while the kids and I were getting ready for bed. DH got back about an hour later!!!
Off to sleep, dreaming about tomorrow.
Coming up....
Chef Mickey's and a full day at MK
