Erie Co. Fair (WNY) - If you've gone this year, what did you think?

Fellow Western New Yorkers and anyone else that's gone - they really switched things up at the Erie County Fair this year. I was a little disappointed. It's been the same way for so many years, and I loved it. It seemed kinda like it was missing something this year.

Anyone else? Opinions?

I agree with you! I know that they expanded the mid-way, but I think it just wasn't so great this year. My husband is having his company picnic there on Sunday, so I will be back again.

What I missed the most was the big giant slide! We walked all over looking for it and I was soo dissapointed when I realized it was gone. The other slides just don't compare to the other one.

Also, the casino took a lot away from the vendor areas that used to be in there. Oh well, the food is always good!! and as long as my son gets his fix of the roller bowler game, we're good to go!

We went for the first time in 15 yrs. this year. I went on opening day when it was $1.00 admission day. I noticed there wasn't as many vendor areas...my kids kept asking me where all the stuff to buy was. Of course, the food was great and they played lots of games...and won some big stuff! It was fun though...I'll go back again next yr.

We did not go. Maybe next year. If it's any consolation the Genesee County Fair isn't as nice as it used to be, either, but we always go to see the various breeds of rabbits, chickens, goats and other cute critters!

It was kind of weird because alot of the things I love were still there - Chiavetta's BBQ, pig races, I Got It - but there was definitely a different "feel" to the place. I admit to going in to play the slots a little, although I have ZERO idea how to play. I just keep hitting the "Play" button until I lose.
